Back then it was much more interesting, what with all those old slammers about. So much more character than these modern sterile trains we have now. Nowadays on the LTS line it's just those 357's. God, I wish I could be back in 1989!
i know a lot of those freighty trains travel via Rainham to get to the docks, but i have sometimes seen freighty trains passing through Hornchurch or Elm Park station, anyone know why they would go through those stations?
Bit late replying to this :) The freight trains will take the Upminster route if the line through Rainham is blocked. The occasional train to Shoeburyness MOD sometimes goes via Laindon also.
