  • I want Rich Fields back! It's so awsome to hear him on the video game!

  • Wow how much things have changed, I barely recognize Drew from this.

  • this announcer sounds like crusty the clown

  • @bronsonblack This announcer also won best game show announcer award.

  • @bronsonblack It does! How about they hire a clown for annoucing.

  • Drew is actually doing a good job as host! I use to watch the old price is right with Bill Cullen as host! I had a hard time accepting Bob Barker as the new host when he took over the show!

  • Drew is the man.

  • wow he was HUGE

  • Drew is a modern version of Bob

  • i think rosie would have been better for the prices right

  • @rockstarrocky ARE YOU NUTS?!

  • The class is gone form this show !

  • When was this episode taped?

  • I am sure glad he lost a lot of weight. He didn't look too well and being a diabetic that is not good. My wife is diabetic too and had an episode not long ago. With that and a bad back, I hope she makes a speedy recovery and starts a diet. I love her sooooo.

  • @903davesharonpoky Actually, Drew looked so much better before he lost that weight. He's now become living proof that some people were meant to be fat. He looks TERRIBLE as a thin guy.

  • @NightHawk12to81 Healthier though. You must be jealous of slim people.

  • @manbigus No, he doesn't, and I'm actually slim myself. Some people were meant to be thin. Some were not. Drew was not.

  • @NightHawk12to81 Nighthawk, I will respect your belief even though I disagree. I am a PE/Health Teacher/Fitness Trainer. I watched this video of Drew and I still see him as fat. He could stand to lose a bit more weight. I understand his wife is diabetic. Thanks for your response.

  • People, in general, are totally reluctant to change. Over the years things change all around us, but we were felt warm and comfortable when we turned on the price is right. Why? because over the course of 30 some years nothing changed on the show, We saw Bob, we heard the same music, the same games, the same lines. Bob retired, and Drew came. From 2007 till now that was pretty much the only change, and he was doing his best to fill some big shoes. Now they're butchering it! Rushing the show!!!

  • What a big, fat, baby faced BLOB!

  • people sign the petition at ipetitions . com/petition/bringbackrichfields/ to bring rich fields back to the show. help us before Mike Richards destroys it all.

  • people sign the petition at ipetitions . com/petition/bringbackrichfields/ to bring rich fields back to the show. help us before Mike Richards destroys it all.

  • Rich Fields is horrible.

  • @Fmaack no you are horrible

  • @Fmaack No JD Roberto, Jeff Davis, Brad Sherwood, and George Gray are HORRIBLE!

    Rich Fields is the BEST!

  • @telewatcher89 Every time Rich would be the best!

  • @abc21abc2123 what happened to rich feilds? i loved him

  • @bec102896 He fired. So now JD Roberto is the new announcer.

  • @abc21abc2123 Correction, he was a temporary announcer. He was only on until early October, when Jeff Davis-- who America will see again on April 11, 2011 when Drew Carey hosts Improv-A-Ganza on GSN-- auditioned for the job, then Brad Sherwood, who auditioned for the job at the end of October and most of November, David Laurence, who auditioned in December, Steve White, who auditioned in January and now, for the first time since hosting "The Weakest Link" in 2002, George Gray.

  • I think Drew gets a bad rap sometime. He's not Bob, never willl. He's doing a great job, making the show his own.

  • yeah .i miss rick fields.. not much of a show there without him .. but drew is coming up with his weight being down there and the cowardly lion get up .. yep thats DREW..

  • @HomeoftheGoodGuys - Yeah, but who cares what you think? Bob was too old, and was wanting to retire. So, the show could have either ended, and no more TPiR, or, Drew Carey could host it. So, you have a choice of no show, or, a show you can chose not to watch. YOUR only option is reruns, sucka.

  • @HomeoftheGoodGuys he didnt take him over.

Bob's in his 80s and thats a bit too old for him on tv.

the show was looking for a new host

  • What do you mean better?!

  • Drew is a good sitcom actor but a horrible gameshow host. He mumbles constantly and laughs at his own jokes.. I can't stand it!! lol

  • When Ralph Edwards made Bob Barker the host of "Truth or Consequences," Ralph told Bob not to imitate Ralph or anyone else, but to do it Bob Barker's way.

So naturally, Bob gave Drew the same advice when he chose Drew as the next host of "Price." "Do it your way."

  • whenever i watch him host this show, it makes me miss whose line is it anyway more.

  • Holy shit. Search up the first episode then watch this!! Such a huge difference in the people :0

  • Drew Carey himself said he wasn't a Bob Parker but he did say it's what you do with it that counts.

  • drew carey FTW

  • Drew + Who's line is is anyway = AWESSOMEE!!!

But for the price is right, he's no bob :( Still good though!

  • @TH123staty45 and the 1994 show with Doug Davidson

  • Anyone who's ever seen Drew's sitcom will get this...

♪♪Moon Over Parma, Put me on The Price is Right...

Guide me to L.A., Under CBS's Light...

Give me the lowdown, on the Showcase Showdown...

But only if The Price is Right♪♪

  • @tvnutboy what episode is that from? it seems like I've heard it, but I can't remember the episode.

  • @mrroboto5785 It's the theme song to DCS' first season, only I've altered the lyrics to make it more Price friendly.

  • Jesus, my bedroom is bigger than that studio.

  • @KevServo Jesus Christ... O_o

  • Drew is no Bob but then isn't trying to be.

He is making the show his own like Bob did. I think he is doing a good job. Keep it up Drew!

  • All Drew has to do is say "Welcome to Price is Right" when he gets the microphone.

  • @cartoongameshowfan76 totally agree

  • I think Drew is a good host, he laughs and has fun with the contestants.

  • It sounds like a damn football game is going on...I love it!

  • And what was Bob? runnign away from excited customers while Drew went in and took the brunt of their excitement and bounced with them.

  • Drew Carey deserves the spot after 2- 3 years of looking for a successor to do the pricing games, and bob barker should enjoy retirement, and hes should have done it on the 25th anniversary instead of the 35th

  • Drew Carey has to make 'Whose line is it anyway' again

  • Drew Carey became the new Price is Right host 4 months after Bob Barker's last show.

  • Drew is doing a good job right now.

  • how long were the yellow intro border lights in both carey and barker episodes last

  • They began in 1975, when the show changed over to it's current 1 hour format, and they lasted until mid 2008, when the show went into full HD.

  • Out of every Nighttime Price is right I've seen Bob Barker does the evening best than the rest.

  • There are some very pensive people in the audience....o.o

  • I have to say Drew has done a good job

  • october 15th that's my birthday

  • it's STILL weird hearing "Drew Carey" instead of "Bob Barker".

  • OMG, I remember this one!

    SPOILER ALERT:

Perfect game during Drew's inaugural appearance as host.

  • I agree! There was only ONE Bob Barker! Drew Carey might not COMPLETELY fill Bob's shoes as a host, but he's OK. However, it may take him 36 years of hosting to be loved by all of America as Bob was.

  • Good point, kind of like Leno taking over for Carson.

  • I couldn't have said it better. I watched the last Bob Barker episode before this, and it was kind of sad to watch. Watching Drew for the last year or so I think he's doing a fine job. He's not trying to be another Bob, he's trying to be himself, and he's doing great.

  • our next game is scenes from a hat

  • He was more professional when he started. Now, he does all these weird entrances. I still watch it, though.

  • I'm glad Drew got it insted of Rosie

  • yeah.

  • rosie wud have been hell

  • I would have never watched it if she was the host.

  • If I ever get on price is right I'm bidding $1337 :)

  • Good price!

  • Love Drew on TPIR and WLIIA (Whose Line) he is doing a great job.

  • It was this entrance that started a new era for the price is right. Drew Carey got himself a good deal that everyone in Hollywood wanted; something that only the best can get. I do wish that his first taped entrance could have aired first but that's just CBS. The entrance was pretty good, I mean he didn't try to sing or dance he just did what was required of him & that was it. I don't think we will ever forget this day since it changed daytime television forever. 5 stars for a television moment.

  • drew is doing a GREAT job wtg drew

  • It's funny, when Drew said 'Welcome to The Price Is Right' I thought he was going to say 'Welcome to Whose Line Is It Anyway!!!!'

  • One episode he said 1000 points instead of $1000 on The Big Wheel xD

  • When did he do that? I'd like to find that clip on YouTube if possible.

  • Can't wait for the new season to start! And I'm really looking forward to the first ever brand new game to debut with Drew Carey as host.

  • Drew is an amazing host.

  • drew is awesome. he's a libertarian.

  • Bob is still the best, but Drew is definetly the best replacement!

  • Everyone's going CRAZY lol

  • drew is doing a great job and the price is right will live on forever

  • Drew is doing a great job! Drew is not or trying to be like Bob. He is making the show his own. Hopefully next season will be great. Drew needs to build up more suspense during the pricing games but not to get too carried away as Bob did lots of times.

  • Bob is Bob and Drew Drew that's it...

  • drew is doing a FANNNNNNTASTIK job

  • SEMPER FIDELIS, MY BROTHER-AT-ARMS.

  • they do have service members as contestants. The Marines in there Dress Blue Uniforms look sharp.

  • Most hosts do way better starting in their second year of hosting. Drew is doing good making it is own show and not trying to be like Bob. He is working on building some suspense like Bob. At first I think he was just excited like the contestants to see if they won or not. I miss Bob and he should make an appearance soon and hosting during the one bid and a pricing game at least once. Keep it up Drew!!

  • I hope Bob makes a special Appearance sometime soon!

  • Most people bag on Drew too much. Of course he's our favorite Barker, but you know I like the job he doing. He put his own input about products and makes it funny. I'll tell you though I do miss Bob's way of building the suspense.

  • At first, I didn't think Drew could do it, but I have to admit, I am more than impressed and he's made the job his own! The same thing could be said of Colonel Potter on MASH, and he even told Klinger, who had replaced Radar as Company Clerk. To that same end, Drew Carey is no Bob Barker, but Drew took the job, ran with it, and made it his own. Even I have gotten to like him. Drew rules!

  • I love bob but drew is cool :D good choice CBS and i like how hes not trying to be the new bob

  • drew is doing a FANTASTICK job WTG DREW

  • Yes he is! Ignore the haters!

  • when drew said "welcome to the price is right"

i was half expecting him to say whose line is it anyway

  • Anyone who says Drew sucks......

    well, SUCKS!

Drew Rules, keep up the good work!

  • Drew is doing a great job. Of course nobody will ever really replace Bob. Drew's put his

own style to the show. He's really interactive w/the fans.

  • That's exactly the point! Drew has made the show his own! Believe me, trying to be another Bob Barker is last thing any host want to do. Be you're own host and the rest will take care of itself, Drew is doing great!

  • That's one of the main things you have to do if your a game show host. Just be yourself. Be you.

  • I love Drew Carey.

  • Drew Carey was selected because of his character. His comic traits is what makes him the best choice for replacing Barker after his retirement.

  • no one can replace the legend bob barker, but drew is doing a good job

  • your right Drew is a good host but no one can replace Bob Barker.

  • Nah...Sandler's had no prior GS experience, and TPiR's not the kind of show to leave in the hands of a newbie. Was cool having him stop by on Bob's last primetime show, though!

  • That was Classic!

  • That was b/c Drew's 1st aired show was actually his 8th(?) taped one...but yeah, seems odd they'd air them out of sequence like that and make no mention of it being his first time out.

  • They were shown out of order because his first couple of tapings, they played the same pricing games. They wanted to mix it up a bit so they same ones weren't shown day in and day out. They did this so Drew can learn the games better over time.

  • not to mention, of course, studio 33 is named for the fella; and it's mentioned every time in the intro.

  • It's just like "The Tonight Show" Yes, there's Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien starting next year, but it's still Johnny Carson's studio. Love or hate Drew, Bob Barker will ALWAYS be "The Price is Right."

  • CBS got Drew six primetime specials. They will be taped on February 11th-13th,but will air on the Eye on the 22nd.However,it last four weeks because after that last week,CBS will have intense coverage of March Madness,so on March 14th,the schedule will be filled with nothing but Price!

  • I know, it's great that Drew is still doing prime time duty even while Power of 10 is on hiatus. I wonder if they will be MDSs, or just regular specials (even though there is nothing REGULAR about TPIR in prime time!).

  • the first one is for sure. there are some changes, too. *nods*

  • Drew's a good fit for the show.

I'm just glad they didn't go and try to completely overhaul everything. They updated the sets a bit but it's not all "futuristic" and full of plasma displays (like they did on Wheel of Fortune and practically every new game show). That would have killed The Price is Right.

  • Drew is a great Price is Right host.

  • being named to play in the price is right most be like being called for the oscars, same feeling i guess

  • Will their be any million dollar spectaculars with Drew Carey?

  • they still love the show! and they love Drew! this is awesome! its as if nothing happened!

  • Any wild samoans attack Drew?

  • nope. not Afa or Sika.

  • What do you mean copy bob? They are two DIFFERENT people.

  • Terrible idea. He needs to do it his own way. Barker himself said as much when they named Carey as the new host.

  • yeah, i guess you're right, i'm just not used to the Price is Right without Bob Barker as host anymore

  • drew price is right

    may 15 2008

    primetime specials.

  • Greg has a nice idea. It'd be nice if Bob would return for these in some way, hosting or otherwise. But Drew would feel slighted this way, I think.

  • It could have been a lot worse. According to an interview with Bob Barker I saw here, Fremantle wanted to change the theme song completely a few years ago, but he, Roger Dobkowitz, and the rest of the staff objected. They also wanted to replace the doors with giant screens. And before this season started, there were reports that Fremantle wanted to change the set to look the set for American Idol, another one of Fremantle's properties!

  • Fremantle owns American Idol?

If they did change THE main theme song, I wouldn't dare watch it then. But it seems to be coming along just nicely ^_^

  • Love the remixed Come on Down music.

    1. Will TPIR have primetime specials from Cleveland now?

    2. Will we see guest appearances from the Whose Line Is It Anyway/Drew Carey Show gang?

  • I love how the new logo actually looks like a price tag.

  • anybody else notice how drew started playing with his left jacket pocket at 1:42 and continued till the end of the vid? i can't even imagine how nervous he must've been that first day

  • Yeah, I did notice that actually. I'd probably be so nervous, that I'd do the same thing.

  • that new camera angle they're using when rich is calling the first four contestants has to go. it's making me dizzy.

  • Apparently people approve of Drew. The ratings are still very high (as of December 2007). Still #2 in Daytime just like in the Barker days.

  • That's great news. I think Drew will last as long as Bob did on Price.

  • Well..I miss Bob Barker. Come on, don't talk negative things about Drew. Give some love! At least The Price is Right is still running on TV.

  • Geez, we're even comparing the two's entrances. Would all u ppl talking negatively about Drew Carey just stop? You aren't even giving him a year to make an opinion. Sure he's shakey at points, but recent tapings that they show on TV shows him improving. Just give the man a chance. You can't expect him to be Bob Barker or even better than Ole' Bob. If you REALLY hate Drew, than don't watch it and stop posting hate messages on him.

  • I miss Bob, but I did hear that it was either gonna be him or Rosie O Donnell. I'm glad it's Drew Carey...

  • word

  • One of my favorite TV Show on CBS, my dad and me see it everyday at home, never missed a show by the way, Drew is the best host on TPIR, keep on going is an excellent TV Show, greetings from Costa Rica

  • I've always wanted Drew to host TPIR.

  • 1:23 was the oddest moment ever. I'm used to hearing "Bob Barker" but now I hear "Drew Carey". Meh, he's still good

  • No, I can't

  • To me, it's sort of refreshing to have some the contestants back to wearing normal shirts. All those designed "We Love Bob!" shirts were getting to be a bit too much.

  • Now they have Drew shirts.

  • DAMNIT!!! There was so much hope. Well, I've noticed more Cleveland Browns jerseys at the shows.

  • Hell yeah. He's from cleveland.

    I am too.

God, I wanted him too get the job for 2 reasons.

    1. He would be awesome for it.

    2. He's from Cleveland.

Love ya for pointing that out, tpirfan.

  • I love how the opening theme goes at :47. Nice touch. Whoever redesigned the show is brilliant to both update the show yet keep the same feel. Even the Logo is changed but not radically.

  • is it just me or when people get up to the podiums they look like a bunch of apes lol

  • The New Look To The Set Is AWESOME!

  • I agree...has sort of a retro feel to it, yet @ the same time, brings it into the 21st century and sets it apart from the Barker era.

  • Aw, dude, you CAN'T change that. It's been there right from the start.

  • if you notice dude, they change it, i mean look how it was in the 70's then the 80's the 90's and today. They could change it around a little bit

  • I love drew so far and I think the redone music is okay, but I would've preferred to just see them keep it the way it was.

  • How odd that the first show aired was actually the 8th taped, which is why Drew makes no mention of it being his 1st show...you'd think w/a change in hosts, they'd want to acknowledge it.

  • I alluded somewhat to this some time ago - the actual first episode was aired as the SECOND episode, on Tuesday October 16, 2007. I'm watching the episode in this clip as I speak. It's re-airing on the East Coast on the American Thanksgiving as one of the three today. The third aired episode, of which I forgot the tape date (it was in September), replays next.

The Nov. 27 show was taped 08/15, too. Was this the first?

  • The episode aired Oct 16 2007 was taped Aug 17. I was at Drew's first taping on Aug 15; it hasn't aired yet (as of Thanksgiving 2007). He nearly starts crying after he's introduced for the first time.

  • That must be the upcoming Nov. 27 one, then. The other Aug. 15 ta[ing has already been aired. (Mental note to self: record Nov. 27 TPIR.)

  • Someone should go on the show and wear a shirt that says "Africa Is A Continent"! I'd love to see that.

  • DREW IS DOING A great JOB SO FAR.

  • I think Drew is the right man to host the Price is Right.

  • Gotta say the new Come On Down music is quite festive, but the cascading flutes do sound washed out. And the remixed theme song sounds pretty good as well. And the Showcase Showdown remixed music sounds sweet as well!

  • I totally miss the regular theme song...remixed sounds okay...it's sad Bob Barker retired, but now that Drew Carey is the host, let's see how he'll deal with the Samoans, since Bob Barker had trouble with those mainly during his 35-year run...LOL...

  • Yeah, I think all the remixed music sounds great!!

  • No matter who hosts TPIR, CBS would collapse without it and daytime TV would become a wasteland.

  • i am still waiting for them to rename the showcase showdown to the showcase hoedown

  • LMAO

  • LOL

  • Drew Carey is actually a great host. I believe he will do a fine job hosting the Price is Right. The only problem is that he's replacing a legend, possibly THE greatest game show host in history. I definitely miss Bob Barker, and TPIR will not be the same. However, Mr Carey will do fine I am sure.
