@vinnyhoags I agree. I watch this Death Wish movie the LEAST simply because there's no catharsis. Worse, Kersey only kills a bunch of RANDOM thugs who had NOTHING to do with the attack on his family. Sure, it might've been more "realistic" to never have caught and killed Goldblum/Spray-Can/Baldy, but it definitely wasn't SATISFYING.

IIRC only the guy Kersey hit in the face with a sock full o' quarters accosted him while Kersey was walking home minding his own business. It was after he returned from Arizona with his "present" that Kersey actively went out into the streets LOOKING for muggers to kill by making himself a visible target so they can "attack" him first and give *him* an excuse to kill them. Think about it.

On one hand, if Kersey didn't entrap the muggers by flashing his money around in diners, carrying groceries on subway rides far out of his neighborhood, and wandering the parks, then there'd be no reason to kill them if they hadn't tried to rob him in the first place. But on the other hand, they'd probably go after unarmed innocents *instead* of Kersey, which DOES make him a hero for PREVENTING those attacks and deaths, to which I concur that you have a point.
