@MultiH8TR The original ecu on these don't like tinkering, it's best to go with a mappable ECU like megasquirt or any of the big names in engine management. The pinto has a Bosch MAF sensor which allows for a bit of tuning scope.
feck me that loves to bounce off the rev limiter! Surprisingly good engines those. i like plan to turbo it and put it in a sierra. Pity they never put that engine in the last sierras, they almost could have kept them going until the scorpio was phased out if they'd used them, better emissions/more power etc
so how had is it to set one of these up i wanna get some money together i have a V6 pos mustang to play with i'm good with stuff like this but tuning isn't something i've messed with yet is there any words of advise you could give me just to start?
@euroe30 If you can solder and make a wiring loom then its pretty easy. The tuning takes lots of time and patience, taking readings from the oxygen sensor and adjusting fuel and spark maps. I'm running a V.3 board and MS2Extra. More info if you google megasquirt
it is very strong engine working without cooling.... Ford Forever...

hey are you gonna stick a turbo on it? im guessing maybe too higher compression.. looks great and seems to run great, well done :)

how did that engine end up in a scorpio....that 2.0 16V 150hp is from escort RS2000??

@aca208 its not basic same engine but the rs had red cover, this is the same as the 2.3 engine a "softer" version less flow etc on the head.
