Ron Paul wins this debate... No one can step to him and his knowledge of how/why we are BROKE and how we are throwing even more money away to other countries when we should be focusing on building up our own. WE CANNOT let CHINA have all the power/money. THAT- is a National Security problem. We need tougher cyber security as well. China has ALREADY been caught tapping into our systems.

Immigration is probably the area I disagree with most with Ron Paul. In an actual Free Market ran by Austrain Economical Philosophy, of which Paul claims to subscribe to, entrance into any border would be determined by the person who owns the land. This provides a more practical and ethical form of "immigration". Granted a problem is that currently we provide free schooling, healthcare, but the goal for Paul should be to eliminate ALL free schooling and healthcare.

@HappyWithWhatsThere I think RP is trying not get involved with this issue too much. In my opinion the government does have a role on the border. They should screen people for certain types of diseases and criminal history, but other than that, immigrants should be free to enter the country, but this can only work if all welfare programs are removed first, including minimum wage. Then we get mainly people who want to work and be productive.

@Talamanca3 I guess the biggest problem is that I'm market anarchist, a student of actual libertarian theory and Austrian Economics, while Paul is pushing for more of a miniarchist state. My statement, however, stands. Welfare programs should be distinguished FOR EVERYONE, and then it should simply be up to whoever owns the land. This will create a capitalistic market for movement, increase the quality of everything involved and put more freedom into the hands of the individual.

@Talamanca3 If you continue with that ideology, you'll end up supporting universal healthcare, bailouts and large military schemes. The only MORAL actions in this world MUST be voluntary. If you say "Well we have to force people to fund the military or else all havoc will break loose" then it follows the instigation of aggression and force (not self-defense) is justified. I have no problem with government per se, but it must be voluntary. Read Rothbard or Von Mises

@HappyWithWhatsThere I get what your saying. There is murkiness in this area that has to be cleared in my mind. I think the answer lies in the real of individual rights.

I am on my second reading of Human Action. Mises is a hero. But I can't stand Rothbard. He is condescending, boring and he used Ayn Rands ideas without giving lick of credit. With that rant taken care of, if there was a passage from Rothbard I should read, what is it. I'll check it out.

@Talamanca3 I get what you're saying about Rothbard, I by no means think he solved everything and his usages of the terms "voluntary" and "aggression". That's why I consider myself a market anarchist, not "anarcho-capitalist" I think he's very different than Rand, however. I think Rothbard's attacks on Objectivism are valid, even though, as a Rortian, I think his own philosophical grounds are shaky. Anyways, I'd check out Ethics of Liberty, its his best work imo.

I'm not a republican but I have no idea why Ron Paul hasn't yet been nominated to run for President. I don't agree with all of his policies but he's certainly the best of the bunch by far, and has been for a while!

Iran is a very mountainous country. It is hard to find nuclear weapons in the mountains.

Hamas, Hezbollah, Hugo Chaves and Iran are planning on attacking the US from within Mexico.

Nuclear bombs are going to blow up our cities if we remove the patriot act.

If we continue to give aid or is it stop giving aid to Pakistan, terrorists will get their nukes and blow up american cities.

@Talamanca3 YOU don't have a clue. Aggressive interventionism has inspired and united people around the world to HATE us. Sanctions, drone strikes, assassinations - we hear about this stuff in the news, so imagine what goes on behind the scenes! This whole approach on economics & foreign policy over the past half-century has been a gross misinterpretation of our founders beliefs and the constitution, and does nothing but fill the pockets of the top 1% and gradually crush out the middle class.

If I start a business, and fail, I will learn. The next time I start a business I will improve. But if, when failing, the government props me up, the cycle will be ENDLESS. This success of this country economically can be judged by how large, comfortable, happy and influential the MIDDLE class is. There will always be poor and rich...
