  • Why are people comparing Disneyland and Disney World Space Mountains if they're the exact same track layout.

  • You know, technically the disneyworld space mountain is disneyland's, because it was originally opened in disneyland...

  • i like this version better. it's a little faster than the original space mountain. it felt weird to walk afterwards. :P it was soooo much fun :)

  • I remember my first time riding Space Mountain.........

  • This scares me so much.

  • i hate watching this knowing i havent riden the ghost galaxy edition before, cause now if i ever go i will know where stuff pops up :)

  • Disneyworld doesn't have space mountain ghost galaxy and haunted mansion holiday Disneyland is way better

  • i LOVE the disneyland 1 i didn't know that in disneyworld there were drops, so i was very surprised, disney land still beats disneyworld tho. It isn't possible not to smile on space mountain!

  • @alvin4325 where

  • One of the most interesting things about Space Mountain--aside from the attraction itself--is that there really is no way of filming it correctly. Or by trying to recreate it in computer animation.

I love that. It's just THERE to be *experienced* and that's it. You can't take it with you!

  • this reminds me of kennywood. *sniff sniff

  • IMO, Disneyland's is a better ride, as it is longer than WDW's, but since WDW's was updated more recently, it's a better experience.

  • Disneyland is the best all around!!!!! Disney World like can't even compare to Disneyland!!!!!!!

  • @projecrunway I hate to say this but your right. I live here in Florida, and I love Disney World, yet seems like the rides at Disneyland are longer and more interesting.

  • this thing always attacks during Halloween, i don't know what this "cosmic phenomena" is but whatever it is someone needs to confront it, the mission is not recommended for the weakest heart only the strongest heart will try to face it

  • @smartguest i will i has kiryu aka mecha godzilla 3.

  • hey do you think i would be able to bring my night vision googles on the ride???

  • WDW Space Mtn is lame! It was the first one built though and that is why DLR is way better. I haven't been to Paris, but theirs from what I here is the best out of all 3! So, WDW #3, DLR #2 and DLP #1... end of discussion.

  • @smphares There are five Space Mountains, not three. Look up "The Five Space Mountains Of Disney". It is a video with info on all five.

  • folks, I hate to say this but the best space mountain is in Paris, France. 360 degree loops, on ride soundtrack and superb theming. if you ever get the opportunity come over and visit and get a real adrenaline rush!

  • Who's ridiculing Disneyland?! Why I outta... *fist motion*

  • did anyone else hear jason voorhees at the very last second?

  • I went on this Last Saturday 5 times

  • Space Mountain at Disneyland is much better but that is probably 75% due to the onboard soundtrack. Give Disney World's a proper overhaul and make use of its much larger structure and the possibilities are endless if unlikely.

  • Is there any distinct differences on the ride from last year to this year?

  • i went on it last year... i liked it a lot =D

  • Yeah, this ride returns, i'm going on this ride sometime this month! I'm going to record the ride and scream like one of those heavy metal singers! YYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (My way 2 scream)

  • I am going on this this Saturday

  • DSIENYLAND'S SPACE MOUNTAIN IS THE BEST. end of discussion.

  • @Rexar4living you just opened up a world of rant, but I agree 200%

  • @Rexar4living I'd Say DLRP has the best (No other Space Mountain has a launch and loops), but this runs a close second.

  • @Rexar4living who cares?

  • @xionxiox people who like going on rides.

  • I'm really looking forward to riding Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy again!

And the projections on the outside of the mountain are awesome! :-)

  • @iknownothing34 Actually, I live closer to disney world than to disneyland, therefore, I go there more. I love the rides at both the parks the same, I just think the disney world space mountain is terrible, and the space mountain in disneyland has better sound, ride quality, speed, and track. I do agree with you though with Walt Disney though.

  • Can we please stop arguing about which park is better? They're both great, and they were both created by Walt Disney. I think if Walt was alive right now, he'd be really upset with this arguing. So why don't we all appreciate the parks instead of arguing about them? Thumbs up if you agree.

  • @iknownothing34 This is all I've been tyring to say, thank you :)

  • @iknownothing34 You are a great person to be saying that. I love both :)

  • @DisneyfanBeckers Haha thanks. :D

  • wow that looks so cool =) wish i could go this year

  • I must go on this! I'm so glad it came to california! Maybe for next years halloween you could make a scare maze like the ones at Hong Kong DL too?

  • Neat-o! Please do "Attraction Insider" videos for EVERY attraction at Disneland and Walt Disney World.

P.S.: Please bring the Ghost Galaxy overlay to WDW's Space Mountain in the future.

  • Now I wish my family had taken our Disneyland vacation at the end of september instead of August. Eh, maybe not with the state Fantasmic is in now. Space Mountain still looks amazing though.

  • LOL! I went on this last year and closed my eyes the when I saw one coming :)

  • omg tht wud freak me out lol

  • @CpFan334 That Video was from last year this year hasn't even been installed yet.

  • Space Mountin Disneyland is 100% better than the disney world edition.

  • @airplanegod I agree disneyworld still has a lot of work to do even though they just got a soundtrack.

  • @airplanegod I wouldn't say "100%." The Disney World version was the original. Disneyland's just has some improvements. Just like the Magic Kingdom has some improvements over Disneyland.

Not to mention, WDW's has two tracks, not to mention that it is bigger and a more impressive structure.

  • @hogbackmtn no never will walt disney world have the same magic as disneyland, see walt disney walked only in disneyland and he put his life into that park, u can say disneyland is like a wonderful salad. it has its good dressing curtons, tomatos, cucumber, aregano. but walt disney world only has the tomatos, u know what im saying. it just dosnt have the same magic

  • @Disneylandtourguide2 Maybe not the exact "same" magic... But magic nonetheless. If you want to play the Walt card, Walt Disney World was Walt's last dream. He did walk it- he walked through the streets and attractions of his Magic Kingdom and the glory and discovery of his EPCOT as he walked through the swamps of Central Florida before he died.

  • @hogbackmtn You're right, WDW was all Walt, many attractions still in MK are all Walt's ideas, Walt was there for most of the planning just not there for it to be completed, but his dream came true, The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World has been the busiest park on Earth for years. All Disney fans should love all Disney Parks and what not, I'm a Cast Member at MK in WDW but I love DL, HKDL, WDW, etc. It's all Disney folks :)

  • @PLeyava I'm sorry Pleyava, but WDW was not all Walt. There was not one artist rendering of the MK or even the hotels completed until long after Walt was dead. His main focus on WDW was EPCOT. The theme park was secondary and in his mind not a high priority, so he didn't devote any of his remaining days alive in designs for that park. Walt was not a fan of repeating himself on projects, so it stands to reason the MK would not have been his choice park to build for WDW.

  • @loonercrazy I'm sorry loonercrazy, but of COURSE WDW was Walt, if he hadn't pictured it in his mind, it wouldn't have been there. Sure he saw as an actual working community centered aroud EPCOT, but he wanted a "second Disneyland" he walked where the Magic Kingdom would be. It was he biggest dream and quite a vision, I think we should be proud of all the parks. Are we not going to call Tokyo DisneySea a park because it was built closer to our time? I'm a WDW child but Disneyland is AMAZING!

  • @DisneyFanatic0716

Actually, Walt specifically did NOT want a second Disneyland. He didn't not want to repeat himself. His big idea for Florida was EPCOT, but the board of directors would not give him permission until he agreed to built a Magic kingdom park first.

    That's a fact.

If you want, I can send you the link where I found the info. :-)

  • @DisMupPix010 Okay, maybe I put it a little to literally. Walt didin't want an EXACT second Disneyland. He asked his friend Art Linkletter, who, for some odd reason, told him not to and it would be a wasted investment. He was very upset that he couldn't control what was going on around Disneyland's borders and wanted to make WDW a complete escape. He always intended there to be a Disneyland-esque park, but the original plan was for it to be a place to go inside his giant, EPCOT, community.

  • @DisMupPix010 Also Walt wanted to open a Disney resort that ran like its own city because he was upset when tourist traps and stuff started coming up around Disneyland. Also he made plans for underground corridors at Magic Kingdom to have park controls and get ready for shows "out of the way" so a cowboy wouldn't have to rush through crowds in Tomorrowland to get to a show in Frontierland.

  • @DisneyFanatic0716 You have no idea what you are talking about. Walt barely even visit the property. He died shortly after it was revealed that Disney purchased the property and he did the one press conference and Wonderful World of Disney show featuring his ideas for EPCOT. Not ONE drawing was done for the MK or the hotels until well after his death. In his property map of WDW he only listed the park as "amusement park." He didn't even acknowledge it as another Disneyland or the MK. Sorry.

  • @loonercrazy I have no doubt it would've been different.

  • @DisneyFanatic0716 He's kind of true. WDW is more of a vacation resort. Disneyland had a lot of hard work put into it by Walt Disney. He even lived in Disneyland just to have a closer commute to "work". WDW (and when I say WDW, i mean the Magic Kingdom) was more of a rushed project that cost less. This however, took away the original magic that Walt wanted for his parks. The detail in Disneyland is just so marvelous compared to MK.

  • @loonercrazy Haven't we established that that the whole reason Walt built ALL Disney Parks are because he didn't WANT "just another amusement park". How To Be Like Walt, plus any legit Walt Disney Bio, is where I got that information. It wasn't RUSHED. It took them a year to fix just the ground so it wouldn't flood, they fought for ground so people could truly escape from reality. It's still magic to everyone else.

  • @DisneyFanatic0716 Please understand DisneyFanatic, that I'm not putting down WDW. I too love visiting there. I usually visit once a year. But that doesn't change the facts. DisMupPlx is correct. When Walt died, so did much of the original ideas for WDW. Roy Disney was brought back in to take over and he was a money guy. The Board, along with Roy decided to do what was easy, less expensive and quick. That was the MK and a couple of hotels. If Walt had lived it would have been different. Trust me

  • @loonercrazy so, are Roy Disney and Bob Iger related?

  • @MrThemeParkAudios Um, no.

  • @PLeyava Furthermore, technically speaking Disneyland park has had more people visit each year now for many years than that of the MK in WDW. Don't believe the really bad numbers that have been reported by Amusement Business or whatever that group's name is now. Those are inflated numbers for the MK. Disneyland is currently the leader in theme park attendance around the world. It is just sad that for the past several years incorrect numbers have been pushed in the trade publications.

  • @hogbackmtn

I recently found out the fact that Walt initially had no interest in building a Magic Kingdom in Florida. He felt that there should only be one Disneyland. His big idea for the Florida project was EPCOT, but the board of directors would not give him permission to work on EPCOT until he agreed to make Magic Kingdom.

If you want proof I can sent you the link where I found the info.

  • @hogbackmtn That's what I've been trying to say! I actually have fun with these comment wars because they pop up ocassionally only on DisneyParks videos and its nice to here different opinions. Even if some of them are (including myself from time to time) a little biased.

  • @hogbackmtn Actually Space Mountain was originally an idea Walt put forth for Disneyland, but the ride technology was not ready at that time to help him realize his dream for Disneyland. When the MK opened it was such a small park with so few attractions. The company decided to build Space Mountain at the MK due to the lack of attractions and quite honestly a very sorry Tomorrowland land. The version at Disneyland was leaps and bounds over the WDW in improvements and ride/track technology.

  • @airplanegod i realy dont know all the time evryone is like disneyland is better beause it the original but when wdw it the originel they like oh the copy is better!!!!!

  • @thepascalhouston I am not saying that ALL the rides at disneyland are better, I am just saying that the space mountain ride there is 100% better.

  • @airplanegod i was more talking to evryone

  • @airplanegod WHENS THE LAST TIME U BEEN 2 DISNEY WORLD??? IN DISNEY WORLD, GAMES IN THE LINE KEEP U ENTERTAINED, U CAN GET A PEEK FROM THE PEOPLEMOVER, THERE IS EXHILARATING NEW MUSIC, A NEW SHOW AND GREENSCREEN CAMERAS IN THE EXIT, ETC..... AT DISNEYLAND THE ONLY FUN IS THE RIDE!!!!!!!!! no offense to holders of your opinion, but Disney World's Space Mountain has caught up to Disneyland's, and u may not have seen its recent form. I dream of going to Disneyland to ride Space Mountain (and more).

  • Its' only happening at Disneyland Hong kong and disneyland.

  • i love space mountain and this makes it even more awesome!

  • That's actually really creepy. I'm impressed! Is this happening to the Magic Kingdom in WDW too?

  • @magicman205 No i don't think so lol

  • @magicman205

No, its only at Disneyland in California and Hong Kong Disneyland.
