I did some research and this dude actually played in the IFL "Indoor Football League" for the Sioux Falls Storm in 2010 making 23 of 39 field goals with a long of 57 yards which was actually a team record. Not sure what he is doing now though.

I kicked a 65 yarder in training, but I needed about 10 attemps. So 70 + works if you have strong legs and a good technique ..... enough attemps and you aren't in a game! ;-)

You crank the wind up to 25+, like ive seen a couple days in Kansas weather and I cant kick it as far unless im simply driving the ball, but with field goals its all about having enough height. Ive kicked a 70+ yarder in practice with a wind around 14-15mph. One day we had gusts around 30mph and I could barely make 65 with proper height. The camera angle here is what makes the kicks

Most NFL kickers can hit longer kicks in practice, but definitely not consistently enough to attempt it in a game. This guy isn't hitting all of these consecutively. He's making multiple attempts but isn't hitting most of them.

alright nfl kickers such as david akers have trouble kicking 70 yard feild goals even with nom defence. the reason its hard to make a far one in a game is becuase they have to have a high angle to get it over the defence jumping and they have to get it off quick enough so it dosnt get blocked so those grealty affect there distance and acuracy but i dont think this guy did this

As for the goal post, take your little ruler out and measure as it gets further it gets smaller. I can tell just from the field these are long kicks, so what, without a D-line coming down on your ass it's a whole lot easier. you dont show how many steps you take on your 60 or 65 yard field goal nfl / division 1 kickers take 2 steps some take 1 step.. .... and most division 1 kickers can kick 50 yd field goals 1 out of 2 times in a practice, you edit your tape. also the wind is blowing pretty good with you there which gives you alot of extra yards.. if you were really kicking 55 plus yard field goals everytime you would be in the nfl but your not....
Hey Rob, I can currently max at 56 yards with no wind and I'm trying out for my college football team as a kicker/punter... I've never lifted before or trained really but I played a shit ton of soccer so I have a natural feel for distance and accuracy... under pressure too. Any advice on how I should lift or work on my legs so that i can destroy the ball a few months down the road? Let me know man... it would be a great help.

Yes, the uprights were at the FRONT of the endzone then, but it is still marked as 63 yards away from the goal posts. And this is definitely not 70 yards. The ground doesn't slant away enough and the uprights are way too big for it to be 70 yards. Definitely not to the 50 yard line. I would say the 40, maybe he 50, but thats doubtful yet.
The painted emblem on the field is centered at the 50yd line you do the math, as far as the size of the goal posts this was shot on a high school field

Most NFL kickers can hit longer kicks in practice, but definitely not consistently enough to attempt it in a game. This guy isn't hitting all of these consecutively. He's making multiple attempts but isn't hitting most of them.

alright nfl kickers such as david akers have trouble kicking 70 yard feild goals even with nom defence. the reason its hard to make a far one in a game is becuase they have to have a high angle to get it over the defence jumping and they have to get it off quick enough so it dosnt get blocked so those grealty affect there distance and acuracy but i dont think this guy did this

your credentials are impressive, i will give you that. and i'm going to ignore what all the other commenters are saying about it being "fake", and i'm going to assume that these are actual distances. that being said, I kicked for my high school team and I could do those kicks all day long. you're arent wearing pads and you're not in a game with linemen diving at your foot. that's what makes all the difference.

I dont kick anywhere now; I'm going to the University of New Mexico, and everyone knows that the LoBlows suck so I didnt try to make the team. Maybe I'll attempt a walk-on in a year? idk. Idk if i really have time for college athletics; that's why I didnt try to play college soccer in the first place...

this is making my day, First, the wind is coming towards the camera not from behind it then the sound would have been diffrent, even with a wind on 1m/s it´s impossible to do that hangtime with the ammount of yards, i know this since im a kicker myself my rec is 55 yards field goal but this is barrely my record to be honest, as ppl can see theres a wite emblem in the middle, that´s the half of the field so this might be 45-50 yards -.-

Judging from the hang time, of the ball, and the wind, it would be impossible for you to achive 70 yards. Maybe a 40 yard kick (if that).

My god you folks are stupid. First as a former kicker, I can tell it is real and he did get some help from the wind. As for the goal post, take your little ruler out and measure as it gets further it gets smaller. I can tell just from the field these are long kicks, so what, without a D-line coming down on your ass it's a whole lot easier. A lot of good kickers can make those running up to the ball with no D in thier face.

you dont show how many steps you take on your 60 or 65 yard field goal nfl / division 1 kickers take 2 steps some take 1 step.. .... and most division 1 kickers can kick 50 yd field goals 1 out of 2 times in a practice, you edit your tape. also the wind is blowing pretty good with you there which gives you alot of extra yards.. if you were really kicking 55 plus yard field goals everytime you would be in the nfl but your not....

Hey Rob, I can currently max at 56 yards with no wind and I'm trying out for my college football team as a kicker/punter... I've never lifted before or trained really but I played a shit ton of soccer so I have a natural feel for distance and accuracy... under pressure too. Any advice on how I should lift or work on my legs so that i can destroy the ball a few months down the road? Let me know man... it would be a great help.

oh ok. Yeah, i see where you're coming from, that would effect it. But I think the weight of a rugby ball might balance things out a bit regarding the rigid edges.
Yeah, the longest kick recorded in rugby was by Paul Thorburn in 1986, it measured 64.2 meters which is arond 70yards 8 inches. But people have said that Steyn has kicked longer but thats unofficial.

Tom Dempsey made a 63 yard field goal in 1970 and Jason Elam (personal favorite) tied that in 1998, however in Tom Dempseys era, the goalpost lied right above the goal line thus shortening the distance so its fair to say that Jason Elams kick was further.

hey have you noticed that he never actually moves the ball any further back, the lines give it away cause if you skip through the clip faster everything gets further away and you can see it getting smaller but in this nothing changes :L

Hey guys, sorry to burst your bubble but the longest field goal was Tom Dempsey with a 63 yarder. Yes, the uprights were at the FRONT of the endzone then, but it is still marked as 63 yards away from the goal posts. And this is definitely not 70 yards. The ground doesn't slant away enough and the uprights are way too big for it to be 70 yards. Definitely not to the 50 yard line. I would say the 40, maybe he 50, but thats doubtful yet.

The painted emblem on the field is centered at the 50yd line you do the math, as far as the size of the goal posts this was shot on a high school field
