Actually in the evo and the STI you CAN carry your friends. This car is not that big. Frankly 29mpg for a 200HP non-turbo FWD sedan is lousy. Compare cars like the GTI or even Hyundai Sonata with more power, power torque, and more MPGs.

That being said I love Civics, I just wish this thing got 35mpg and had more than 139lbs of torque

Yes you can get car with better performance with that money, but what performance cars lack is gas mileage, reliability, and space. Yes You can buy a used Evo or an STI but it wont be as reliable as a Civic nor will it be more fuel efficient than a Civic and you wont be able to carry your friends. It all depends on what you are using the car for. For a day at the track go for the Evo or STI, if you are looking for everyday drive with a kick go for the Civic.

nothing new? The Si model has changed every generation to better and better engines. The 8th gen Civic Si model has a K20 Inline-4 that actually has decent hp output. It is not the regular R18 engine... the torque sucks..that's the only reason the car isn't taken seriously. And yes...the srt-4 is the best budget sportscar. But the interior sucks ass and not all of them had LSD standard....open diff is a big fail.

it smokes the Si. which is why it's over $10K more. But you can't compare a RWD sportscar roadster convertible to the Si, which is FWD and is basically a civic with a K20z3 and 6 speed tranny.

s2000 wins light to light, at the strip, and on the autocross track, but like i said. 10K more. and you're an idiot if you drive it in the winter/rain/bad weather. Si can arguably be driven all year.
