Very nice to own a legend. Of course I would want to Mad Max the ride. Of all the movie cars, this would be my choice. A full blown MAD MAX car before it was stripped out. If I had the cash. I would buy one and ship it to the states and Buy all the goodies and have it made. Nothing, Nothing makes a statement like that car would at a local show. I know it would be hard to find one that wasn't a rust bucket and those bring big bucks. Thanks for sharing your ride.
@Champ1964 Cheers, mate, thanks for the kind comments! I've had quite a few over the years - back in the 80's they were a $500 car if you looked hard enough. I once bought a complete front, - nose cone, modified fenders, etc the whole lot for $50 and had like a white mad max looking car - I once drove it to the drive in to see mad max 2
Also I love to draw cars and if you look on Flikr under revzart_2063 you can see a couple of illustrations I've done of my own version of a Ford Falcon GTXB
i'm from the UK xbfalcon351coupe I live in the south west in a city called Bristol. i can only claim to have owned two fords one was a mk IV cortina and the other a Ford Fiesta 1.1 L we don't see many Aussie cars in the U.K ...... Plenty of Yanks But not enough Austrailian Muscle like the Ford falcon XB. if there are any they are very far and few between.....and if i ever came across one i'd deffinately love to have one !!!!

@revzillo Cheers, dude! right this minute its in a red oxide primer - it was in cheapo grey primer over winter and a few little surface rust telltales started to show on the roof so I bare metalled it and have put on this thick coat of red oxide - once that sets hard (I'll give it a few months) I'll sand it back and chuck some more satin black on it - it just suits it. Where are you, in the US? There's a few starting to appear over there too but , like here, they are getting really hard to find
@blah1752 Wow, you'd still have plenty of other project material in that area to pick from, though!! I'd bet the bodies would be pretty rust free too , wouldn't they?
@xbfalcon351coupe Depends on what you're looking to buy. But I'm having a hard time finding a cheap pickup to beat around this winter. I am a poor guy though... So, no place for any sort of a sport project car now anyways
@Sasquatch279 Cheers mate, thank you for the kind words. Funnily enough the black only ever went on as a sealing coat because it was in grey primer and winter was coming up (I should explain this is no garage queen, this is my daily car that gets used everywhere from long distance to shopping trips with the kids) but black has really grown on me - it suits it well and everyone loves it that colour. I'll be painting it again as soon as the weather warms up a bit and yes, it will be black..
@alexcastilloz Sorry mate, not for sale. I get offers around 3-4 times a week, highest so far is $45K which personally I think is nuts - but see I grew up owning these as $1,500 cars. Cheapest one I ever owned I paid $400 for...but yeah not selling this one, I enjoy it too much and would be too sad to see it go.
@Doublespazer Cheers, thanks mate. The problem is, though, that quite a few of the modifications aren't legal in Australia..sidepipes, they don't like, blower through the bonnet is a no-no, and without these you really can't do a decent MM type car. I used to have a different coupe years ago with the correct front (Concorde by Arcadipane) but the ground clearance was terrible, had to crab sideways through dips, couldn't go over speed humps, etc..
@theglennyboy And what were you doing at the school again? Didn't they have a restraining order out on you? Oh, notice how my camera work is actually in focus? Thats because I'm using a CAMERA, not a mobile taped to my dick like you....
@253UC thank you ! you're right, though...I hadn't really thought about it like that...it genuinely isn't intended..hoping to get some decent paint on it soon. Oh, and btw, I like torries too! used to have an LH L34 back in the day that was bathurst prepared but never used in the race - also had an LX hatch that had a hot 202, LPG and a 5 speed
I've always wondered, do these cars come with rear quater windows? all the ones I've seen don't have any. You definitely wouldn't want this stolen because theres no rear windows. BTW, Beautiful car mate, even when it has the primer paintjob it looks immac!!
Thanks for the nice comments - yep, they do have rear windows that wind up and down - there's a seal on the front edge of them so when front and rear windows are up its like continuous glass front to back. The reason you never seem to see them is that when you wind all the windows down there's nothing - no pillars etc. which makes it really nice to cruise around in summer!
Hey, thanx for the comment. I bought it about 5 or 6 years ago for $1,200 - but when I got it it was a 6, front suspension needed a full rebuild, body was pretty rough (that's black primer on it at the moment). I've added GT style bonnet, 351, newer 4 speed, and a fair bit of body work since then - paint was horrible, full of pits down to the metal.. the 351 and other bits came from a Fairlane I bought (AND sold, less motor!!) for $500. Mind you, they are now worth huge bux..
yea so true, the 1 i'm lookin at is jus an XB 500 coupe, no motor, no box, but has all GS trims, bonnet, interior, badges, guards, and they want 8 grand for it.. bloody unreal! pretty rust and dent free though
Holy shitttt! But, y'know, when you look at it, I scored a 351 for , really, $500. Bellhousing, flywheel etc cost me a total of $250 from a wreckers, single rail 4 sp cost me 200 - so to get it running is really only a grand on top of that 8 k...Of course, you can spend lots more than that, sky's the limit, but you can also go cheap to get it going, like pick up a defected XD or something for a song and get everything out of that...mine's got lots of XE - XF stuff on it, only cos its cheap as..
Well, thats the thing...I get around 3 - 5 offers on mine every week...pretty well whenever I park it, there's a note on the window..I had a guy offer me 25 grand at a KFC one night, this is when it was still a 6. Had a guy offer me 35 grand the other week at a Ford GT show at Glenelg (SA) and believe me mine still is pretty rough - I've been told on forums $45 K is more like it, but I have a hard time accepting that (only cos I remember buying em for $500 in the 80's) - I think its crazy money!
far out! thats ridiculous! their becoming such a good investment. and you'd have no problem trying to sell it if you ever needed to. so depending how much time and money i put into it i could have a 30 000 doller car for maybe, 10 G, would b a nice claim at 17 years old hahaha, thanks for ya help mate, and again.. nice car
The last of the interceptors.. lmao
