I going to say this once and for all . . . THEY'RE NOT COUSINS! It's a cover story at Kadic so that people won't get suspicious because Aelita has no family left. They're not related so it's ok if they kiss (I personally like this pairing). Plus it's mentioned in the show that they're not really cousins (watch episode 32 Saint Valentine's Day, it's mentioned twice and it's on Youtube)
