An incredible song. Killer music, heartbreaking lyrics. Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil absolutely rule here - and nobody could do this like the Vogues. So great.
One of my all-time fav's from the guys, written by Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, it's a classic. Thewse guys cioulod really sing--I own 4 albums & 3 CD's. Wolfsky9
@Wolfsky9 yes in deed , very underratted, this is my favorite too, as u said written by Barry Mann,[ deceased now] who wrote Lovin Feelin , for The Rightious Bros, so many great writters came out of NYC in the 50's 60's, not to mention Carol King.......Wow!. Blows your mind
I remember catching this first on the radio -- my college roommate told me that it was done by "The Boats" --- haaaaaa ! Anyway, more important, the VOGUES appeared with THE CLASSICS IV at my Jr. year prom ... it was great stuff -- even the tough guys who said going in that the style of both groups was lame, were blown away. Hughie was the comedian during and between both acts, Dennis Yost was great, but the lead for the VOGUES was the MAN !! Great Memories !
Absolutley Fantastic! I was 6 years old and remember watching Band Stand and loved You're the one and this here song I've have'nt heard since then!! WOW!! Thanks for the memeroies
Yay... I love these guys, such beautuiful voices. I have a DVD with them reunited called "2001 Induction Concerts, The Vocal Group Hall Of Fame" Great dvd, got it on amazon.com Thanks for this video, its in my favorites now. More, more.....

What a great song this. And to see even a lip-synched version from the period is wonderful. Thanks for posting.
