okay this is the reason i fucking HATE tom brady and the whole patriots organization..all down hill from there smh FUCK new england FUCK Bill bellich however you spell that faggots name and most of all FUCK TOM FAGGOTASSBITCHASSCUNTASSDICKLICKING BRADY
If you think were complaining cause of that tuck rule, yeah we lost, but why we lost? Cause of the Tuck Rule that robbed the raiders to win the AFC Championship. If the raiders would have won this game against the patriots if the call stands as a fumble rather than the stupid tuck rule, this would have never happened and the raiders would have also won the superbowl.
I wasn't alive in '76 but Stabler got a phantom roughing the passer call against New England in the playoffs that eventually led to a Raiders superbowl victory. The Raiders would win 3 Superbowls from 76-83. Just heard that on sportcenter. I guess its fucking karma. I'm more pissed about Al Davis letting Gruden go and then Callahan and the Raiders not changing their fucking verbage in the Superbowl beatdown vs the Tampan Bay.
the got a bullshit call and later CHEATED ALOT of games!!! dishonest fucks!!!! i cannot stand their cry baby ass QB Brady who cries a lot for just touching his bitch ass!!
@mystrol3 Nah, you're just wicked jealous of the Patriots and the fans. Belichick was a genius for telling the ref that it was the tuck rule since the EXACT same thing happened to the Patriots earlier in the season against the Jets and Vinny Testaverde. A fucking mad scientist of a coach.
@beantownkid38 there is nothing to be jealous of when your team has been caught cheating and has been given numerous games on a silver platter, even this season, I forgot which game it was, but Brady was running the ball and he was mid air during a slide and one of the Line Backers came up and tackled him and his fore arm hit Brady's Stomach, the refs decided to throw a flag and say that his fore arm hit him in the helmet when you can clearly see the replay and he hit his stomach
@mrplatinum96 that's another thing, brady has on numerous occasions been given the benefit of a game by the refs, even this year. he is little bitch that does want to be hit! look at the buffalo game!
@beantownkid38 you must be new kid! clearly brady brought the ball back TOUCHED IT WITH HIS OTHER HAND because he was gonna throw it to another receiver!! belicheat is a genius?? that old fart knocker can't even give COHERENT post interview's! he mumbles like a drunk walking around Atlantic city, which make it clear he is not running the coaching show, and makes it clear there is some dirty dealing with that team! but you wouldn't know because you can't think outside the box!
I'm an actual Jets fan and any self respecting Jets fan would never say "you gotta respect the pats they find a way to win" haha They are cheats, If anything good came out of Eric Mangini it was him being a patriots insider calling out Bill Bellacheat on spy gate putting their Superbowl wins in the same category as Barry Bonds/Mark McGuire's home run records. I agree with the comment below post 9/11 & politics were in play here.. Sanchez did the same thing last yr no surprise It was a fumble.
"Pats find a way to win"? sure if you call the bullshit politics of the "American Patriots" getting handed the Superbowl due to post 9-11 sediment running through the entire country, and sponsors. You really think the powers that be wanted the skull clad Raiders to go to the Superbowl? The networks and NFL could not stand for the notorious Raiders to go at this time in America. This still stands as the worst call in professional sports history! And I have not respected Pro Football ever since.
Nfl analysts have determined that it was in fact the proper interpretation of the tuck rule, but agree that it's a dumb rule. According to the rulebook, this was not the worst call in sports.

@xxcallofdoodyxx Notice how all of your comments are like 6 words long and completely ignoring what the guy is trying to say. Grow up. It is not a "bullshit call" it is a "bullshit rule." Get it through your thick skull little kid.
point of the rule is you cant judge intention of a forward motion with the ball. They made it simple by taking the guesswork out. If the arm is moving forward the call is always going to be an incomplete pass and since the arm was moving forward, thats the way the call went. Like it or not it was the right call
Its only an incomplete pass if the ball is knocked out DURING the passing motion. if the QB doesnt throw the ball and brings it back in, its a fumble >.> Raiders were cheated a Super Bowl chance

Refs made the right call, the rule as it is written totally sucks. Change the tuck rule, don't blame the refs Raiders fans. And the capital of Nebraska is Lincoln. That is all, thank you and good night.
@danning1 that rule would have applied even though it was a dumb one IF what the refs say actually happened, the rule doesnt apply anymore when brady retrieved the ball, he pump faked and then started to get the ball back...the rule no longer applies, its a rule, a dumb one, and it wasnt a good call, its a fumble, all of you KNOW it was a fumble and wont admit it, cause it was ur 1st superbowl year, but you KNOW it was a fumble, peace
1976 roughing the passer. You have to love Raiders fans of all people complaining about a call. Eat a post boys - raiders are the shadyest franchise in sports. Check back with everyone when your gollum owner checks out.
It's funny how the media's tried to cover this one up over the years. Every time one of these calls comes around now they always point to why it's right AND why it was actually the right call in this game. Everyone who says the league goes against the Raiders is considered crazy. If u can remember, it took a while for them to make the final decision when the 'tuck rule' was called in this game. Think about it, y'all. They were trying to figure out what to call upstairs.....
as a raider fan the ruling is correct. the problem is theres no need for the rule. if the qb loses the ball at any point it should be a fumble. for it to be an incomplete pass it should have to at least go forward not down. that game may have changed history. the pats still didnt know if they were keeping brady or bledsoe at the time and the raiders likely wouldnt have traded jon gruden who killed them the next year. maybe the pats wouldnt have been as dominant and the raiders as bad
@limosince2007 It was NOT the right call. The tuck rule means if the QB goes to tuck the ball after pump faking and gets hit and loses the ball, it is a fumble. If he loses the ball while attempting to throw it, it is an incomplete pass. Brady was clearly going to tuck the ball back in after pump faking and it came out. He almost had both of his hands on it. It should have been ruled a fumble.
@AKAKingJames "If the quarterback brings his arm forward in a passing motion, but then changes his mind and tries to keep hold of the football rather than making a pass. In this situation, if the quarterback loses the ball while stopping his passing motion or bringing the ball back to his body, it is still considered a forward pass (and thus an incomplete pass if the ball hits the ground)" try reading the rule first
The main thing here is that his arm WAS in fact going FORWARD. The rule says that if his arm's going forward, it's an incomplete pass. Obviously that wasn't a throw, he was going to tuck it. However, his arm was going forward when Woodson hit him so it's not Brady's fault, the Patriots' fault, or the refs fault. it's the NFLs fault for having stupid rules like that. Maybe the ref's shouldn't apply them so "text-book-like" but that is what is asked of them so fuck the raiders... and the Patriots
@WTOJavier his arm was going forward, but he wasn't gonna pass it. u get it? it was moving forward but he was gonna tuck it, not throw. nonetheless, it was going forward and the rule says if it's going forward, it's a throw. so it's not the refs fault, but the rules' fault
@DaBusDriva92 his arm wasnt going forward...he wasnt going to pass it either, but his arm wasnt going forward...he pumped and after finished the pump, woodson stripped it, do you see the vids, or hear them? if u see there was clear visual evidence it was a fumble, like davis said.
@WTOJavier you just said it urself, he pumped it, what movement does your arm do when you pump? im not saying it shoulda been a fumble or not, the rules are the rules though, and if his arm was going forward, which it was, then technically it's the motion of a throw
@DaBusDriva92 if his arm was going forward (pump or not) its an incomplete pass, but if his arm is going back (pump or not) and its stripped, then its a fumble...this time his arm was still...fumble
@WTOJavier his arm might have been still for about .0001 of a second, he had JUST finished pumping, really he was at the end of the pump. Look, I know it wasn't a throw, Brady knows it wasn't a throw, the patriots know it wasn't a throw, heck even the refs know it wasn't a throw, but it was a pump and in a pump your arm goes forward, and his arm was going forward, and the rules say this is a pass. it just is, rules are rules. b.t.w. are you a Raiders fan?
@DaBusDriva92 im a raider fan, idk if ur a NE fan, but if u are, you shouldnt hide it either (trying to look like every other fan in the nfl agrees with the decision made) but his arm want going forward, everything uve said is right, EVERYTHING EXCEPT, that his arm was going forward, because it wasnt, when he finished the pump, woodson stripped it, like if he had never pumped, because woodson stripped it like .0001 secs after the pump was completly done, and there wasnt that much visual evidence
@WTOJavier well first off bro, im not a NE fan, i actually hate them (im a Packer fan, meaning I love woodson), but I believe a real fan of the SPORT can analyze any play, any game, etc. without putting their team first. In this video at about 39 sec. you can clearly see that Woodson makes contact right as Brady is finishing the motion of the pump, or a tuck, I think maybe you fail to see it because you're a Raider fan, but that's understandable
@DaBusDriva92 this discussion between us cant be solved because nobody will think otherwise than he thinks right now, i dont base what i say like things like ''brady admitted it, that it was a fumble'' even though it makes a great impact on the decision, but i saw what i saw and you saw what you saw...its not actually because im a raider fan, i just see it that way because he was taking his arm back, anyways, i see youre a good football fan and its been great to discuss with you :p GB SB winner
@WTOJavier yeah, you're right, we wont convince ourselves to go the other way. every football fan sees close calls their own way, and I can tell you if I was ref there's no way call that an incomplete pass. Anyway, it was nice discussing this with you as well. I sure hope we beat the Steelers, but it'll be a great game. Raiders actually impressed this year, i think they should have continued with the process they had though,
I'm a Broncos fan, but I pulled 4 the Raiders this game, and this rule needs 2 go. An incomplete pass is 1 that's thrown FORWARD that doesn't get possessed. If the QB's arm is going BACKWARD and he loses the ball, it should b a fumble. It still baffles me 2day. I can understand Raider fans' frustration. And 2 any1 saying, "The Raiders had xtra chances," think about this: the Patriots were given an xtra chance. I sure hope they change this rule soon.
dominating? 13-3 is dominating? 13-10 is dominating? the "tuck rule" gave the patriots 3 points? the tuck rule sent the game to overtime? the tuck rule won the game for the raiders? hahahah! no, no, no, no, no, and no. please people, u sound like Cubs fans when they blamed Steve Bartman
..worst rule ever to be put in place in the NFL.. holding the ball is holding the ball, who cares if his arm was moving foward.. a fumble is a fumble.... RAIDER NATION!!!
whether or not the tuck rule is bullshit or not. The Raiders didn't necessarily "deserve" to win. It doesn't matter how good they were, how good their offense was like they say and show in this video. All this about "oh the Raiders offense was so good, they were on their way to the super bowl, this n that" all that doesn't matter cuz they didn't score enough points to win. This is coming from a major Patriots hater. I hate em, but all they've won has been fair
@DaBusDriva92 All they've won has not been fair. They were handed that fucking game, and Belichick was caught cheating. That should taint all the success they've had this past decade. Raiders would easily have won the Super Bowl that year, and in my lifetime our Oakland Raiders would have been champs. All I have to look back on now is them getting fucking schooled by Tampa Bay the next year and seeing Tom Brady rake in the success of a career given to him by referees
@Drforrester31 you're obviously a Raiders fan so I can't take your point of view as unbiased. Im not a Patriots fan, in fact I hate em, but I recognize that they're one of the best football teams of all time, and Belichick is one of the best coaches of all time, simply because of their record. This was a terrible call, but like I've said before if the Raiders were really so good, why couldn't they score on them more? I mean that call didn't give the patriots any points directly but w.e.
@DaBusDriva92 This game was a hard fought battle in blizzard conditions. Less than two minutes left, Raiders're winning, then force and recover a fumble. To this point the Raiders had done absolutely everything right to win the game. But wait! A referee decides that Brady was making a two handed shovel pass into the ground as he got sacked and gives them the ball back. Asking "why couldn't they score more" is fucking stupid
@Drforrester31 before that happened buddy. all im saying is raiders were nto good enough that day to beat the patriots. the bad call didn't give the patriots ANY points. and his arm was defenitely going forward. so really here it's not the refs fault, it's the rule's fault. just like week 1 in the NFL Bears vs Lions where Johnson clearly caught the ball. but i guess that's not what we're arguing about. The raiders didn't "dominate" anybody
Oh no I remember that. How could anyone ever forget right? 46-10! To be fair to the Pats they did lead in that game 3-0. LOL The difference here is that the Raiders screwed the pats 25 years earlier in the playoffs and then later on the Raiders were screwed. And you can say that the 85 Pats had a chance but still that doesn't do the 76 team any justice. They would have played the 76 Steelers for the AFC Championship.
raiders got screwed big time man...... even after 2001 they got screwed even more after rich gannon got injured and after that they got like 6 years of hell
@9pt9 You're a fucking moron that shouldn't be allowed to spawn. What part of that was an incomplete pass? The part where he pulled it in to his body with two hands? Cause in the rest of the football world that's going to be a fumble. I'm sure Walt Coleman is as big a hero in NE as Belichick or Brady
@xXFaTaLizExX I am not a Raiders fan and I agree with you the Better team lost. And probably the worst teams ever to win a super with bums like David Patten and Antwoine ( I couldn't run out of my own way ) Smith won a super bowl. THe weather totally favored the Patriots and STILL they needed a sh*t call to win the game. That whole year the Patriots squeaked by many games with questionable calls. They did the same thing against Buffalo several weeks earlier.
@Djss323 Correct. A couple of things about this call. The call on the field was a FUMBLE which meant there had to be CONCLUSIVE evidence against it. There was not. It was a very ambigious call. The play was HUGE because if it stands, the raiders win. There was 1:43 seconds left and the Patriots had ZERO timeouts left. Three kneel downs and the game is over. Even Phil Simms had initially said he couldn't see any reason why it would NOT be a fumble.
i dont know what was a worser call this or the calvin johnson non td catch vs the bears....id say this one becasue it was a playoff game and honestly cost the raiders a chance at a super bowl i think the raiders were good enough to beat the steelers and rams.....but the raiders put themselves in this situation remember the raiders started this year 10-2 and went on to lose their last 4 games basically giving new england the home field advantage
@DETROIT2MILWAUKEE That is a very good point. Common sense does indicate that the Raiders got screwed, but all COULD have been avoided had they done better in the last games of the season and just got home field advantage. One of the smartest observations i've heard on this matter.
One of the worst fucking calls ever. This was all about the red, white, and blue. 911 had just occurred and the whole country was pro patriotism. Everything was about being a patriot and supporting the country at a difficult time. Fuck the patriots, and the patriot act
Brady appears to touch the ball with his left hand about the time of the fumble. If he touched the ball with his left hand, the Tuck Rule does not apply. Even if he technically did not touch the ball ball with his left hand (like if he was a millimeter away), the spirit behind the rule was not honored. He did not lose the ball as he was bringing it in to his body. The ball was already into his body and practically in his left hand when it came out. This was a fumble.
As a Steeler fan, I will say that this has to be the worst call in NFL or maybe even sports history. As much as I fuckin hate the Raiders, I gotta admit they fuckin got capital S-Screwed! Fuck the Patriots anyways
@DeuceNineD Check out the roughing the passer call back in1977.Talk about a bullshit call. The patriots were clearly a better team then Oakland that year.Even John Madden thought that was a great Patriot team but was damn lucky with that call because he was coaching Oakland. They won the Superbowl and there only lost of the season came against the Patriots by a wide margin 48-17.
@DeAngeloMcFadden There is so many plays like that. They are never called.Look at any tape of any game and there is shit going on.A play like that in the playoffs in which Hamilton was not out to head hunt but to stop the play from happening which is obvious should have never have been flagged.Stabler was fine and Oakland was probaly a little shocked themselfs that they got a break.
if you pay close attention to this video around 0:45-0:46 seconds you can clearly watch Shady-Brady actually going all out to trip Greg Biekert? # 54 LB.
thats a tripping move because shady-brady knew the ball was live and, up for grabs.
this was and should have been Raider time but, with 9-11 and all the politic crap... the pats were handed the game
okay this is the reason i fucking HATE tom brady and the whole patriots organization..all down hill from there smh FUCK new england FUCK Bill bellich however you spell that faggots name and most of all FUCK TOM FAGGOTASSBITCHASSCUNTASSDICKLICKING BRADY

They were trying to figure out what to call upstairs.....
dawb86 10 months ago 2
as a raider fan the ruling is correct. the problem is theres no need for the rule. if the qb loses the ball at any point it should be a fumble. for it to be an incomplete pass it should have to at least go forward not down. that game may have changed history. the pats still didnt know if they were keeping brady or bledsoe at the time and the raiders likely wouldnt have traded jon gruden who killed them the next year. maybe the pats wouldnt have been as dominant and the raiders as bad

Why is everyone so hung up about this? It was the right call just a terrible rule.
limosince2007 11 months ago
@limosince2007 It was NOT the right call. The tuck rule means if the QB goes to tuck the ball after pump faking and gets hit and loses the ball, it is a fumble. If he loses the ball while attempting to throw it, it is an incomplete pass. Brady was clearly going to tuck the ball back in after pump faking and it came out. He almost had both of his hands on it. It should have been ruled a fumble.
AKAKingJames 11 months ago
@AKAKingJames "If the quarterback brings his arm forward in a passing motion, but then changes his mind and tries to keep hold of the football rather than making a pass. In this situation, if the quarterback loses the ball while stopping his passing motion or bringing the ball back to his body, it is still considered a forward pass (and thus an incomplete pass if the ball hits the ground)" try reading the rule first

this is the same thing that happen to sanchez vs the steelers in the afc championship
xxilovemybrotherxx 1 year ago
The main thing here is that his arm WAS in fact going FORWARD. The rule says that if his arm's going forward, it's an incomplete pass. Obviously that wasn't a throw, he was going to tuck it. However, his arm was going forward when Woodson hit him so it's not Brady's fault, the Patriots' fault, or the refs fault. it's the NFLs fault for having stupid rules like that. Maybe the ref's shouldn't apply them so "text-book-like" but that is what is asked of them so fuck the raiders... and the Patriots
DaBusDriva92 1 year ago
@DaBusDriva92 Bradys arm wasnt going forward...not either he was gonna pass it
WTOJavier 1 year ago
@WTOJavier his arm was going forward, but he wasn't gonna pass it. u get it? it was moving forward but he was gonna tuck it, not throw. nonetheless, it was going forward and the rule says if it's going forward, it's a throw. so it's not the refs fault, but the rules' fault
DaBusDriva92 1 year ago
@DaBusDriva92 his arm wasnt going forward...he wasnt going to pass it either, but his arm wasnt going forward...he pumped and after finished the pump, woodson stripped it, do you see the vids, or hear them? if u see there was clear visual evidence it was a fumble, like davis said.
WTOJavier 1 year ago
@WTOJavier you just said it urself, he pumped it, what movement does your arm do when you pump? im not saying it shoulda been a fumble or not, the rules are the rules though, and if his arm was going forward, which it was, then technically it's the motion of a throw
DaBusDriva92 1 year ago
@DaBusDriva92 if his arm was going forward (pump or not) its an incomplete pass, but if his arm is going back (pump or not) and its stripped, then its a fumble...this time his arm was still...fumble
WTOJavier 1 year ago
@WTOJavier his arm might have been still for about .0001 of a second, he had JUST finished pumping, really he was at the end of the pump. Look, I know it wasn't a throw, Brady knows it wasn't a throw, the patriots know it wasn't a throw, heck even the refs know it wasn't a throw, but it was a pump and in a pump your arm goes forward, and his arm was going forward, and the rules say this is a pass. it just is, rules are rules. b.t.w. are you a Raiders fan?
DaBusDriva92 1 year ago
@DaBusDriva92 im a raider fan, idk if ur a NE fan, but if u are, you shouldnt hide it either (trying to look like every other fan in the nfl agrees with the decision made) but his arm want going forward, everything uve said is right, EVERYTHING EXCEPT, that his arm was going forward, because it wasnt, when he finished the pump, woodson stripped it, like if he had never pumped, because woodson stripped it like .0001 secs after the pump was completly done, and there wasnt that much visual evidence
WTOJavier 1 year ago
@WTOJavier well first off bro, im not a NE fan, i actually hate them (im a Packer fan, meaning I love woodson), but I believe a real fan of the SPORT can analyze any play, any game, etc. without putting their team first. In this video at about 39 sec. you can clearly see that Woodson makes contact right as Brady is finishing the motion of the pump, or a tuck, I think maybe you fail to see it because you're a Raider fan, but that's understandable
DaBusDriva92 1 year ago
@DaBusDriva92 this discussion between us cant be solved because nobody will think otherwise than he thinks right now, i dont base what i say like things like ''brady admitted it, that it was a fumble'' even though it makes a great impact on the decision, but i saw what i saw and you saw what you saw...its not actually because im a raider fan, i just see it that way because he was taking his arm back, anyways, i see youre a good football fan and its been great to discuss with you :p GB SB winner
WTOJavier 1 year ago
@WTOJavier yeah, you're right, we wont convince ourselves to go the other way. every football fan sees close calls their own way, and I can tell you if I was ref there's no way call that an incomplete pass. Anyway, it was nice discussing this with you as well. I sure hope we beat the Steelers, but it'll be a great game. Raiders actually impressed this year, i think they should have continued with the process they had though,
DaBusDriva92 1 year ago
I'm a Broncos fan, but I pulled 4 the Raiders this game, and this rule needs 2 go. An incomplete pass is 1 that's thrown FORWARD that doesn't get possessed. If the QB's arm is going BACKWARD and he loses the ball, it should b a fumble. It still baffles me 2day. I can understand Raider fans' frustration. And 2 any1 saying, "The Raiders had xtra chances," think about this: the Patriots were given an xtra chance. I sure hope they change this rule soon.

RAIDERS7009 1 year ago
whether or not the tuck rule is bullshit or not.
DaBusDriva92 1 year ago
@DaBusDriva92 All they've won has not been fair. They were handed that fucking game, and Belichick was caught cheating. That should taint all the success they've had this past decade. Raiders would easily have won the Super Bowl that year, and in my lifetime our Oakland Raiders would have been champs. All I have to look back on now is them getting fucking schooled by Tampa Bay the next year and seeing Tom Brady rake in the success of a career given to him by referees
Drforrester31 1 year ago
@Drforrester31 you're obviously a Raiders fan so I can't take your point of view as unbiased. Im not a Patriots fan, in fact I hate em, but I recognize that they're one of the best football teams of all time, and Belichick is one of the best coaches of all time, simply because of their record. This was a terrible call, but like I've said before if the Raiders were really so good, why couldn't they score on them more? I mean that call didn't give the patriots any points directly but w.e.
DaBusDriva92 1 year ago
@DaBusDriva92 This game was a hard fought battle in blizzard conditions. Less than two minutes left, Raiders're winning, then force and recover a fumble. To this point the Raiders had done absolutely everything right to win the game. But wait! A referee decides that Brady was making a two handed shovel pass into the ground as he got sacked and gives them the ball back. Asking "why couldn't they score more" is fucking stupid
Drforrester31 1 year ago

They did the same thing against Buffalo several weeks earlier.

over 90% of NFL fans and players know this was a fumble! Raiders got screwed
Djss323 1 year ago 23

DETROIT2MILWAUKEE 1 year ago
@DETROIT2MILWAUKEE That is a very good point. Common sense does indicate that the Raiders got screwed, but all COULD have been avoided had they done better in the last games of the season and just got home field advantage. One of the smartest observations i've heard on this matter.
