I think Jack Sparrow is the straightest Pirate of them all. He is a player, or did you forget in the first movie where he keeps getting slapped by his ex's. And why did you have to bring in the other white guy? He didn't say anything then he gives the movie a rental. Like what the f**k!!!! I would have preferred if Co-Host was there. I have never seen a review with all 5 of you in it. It would be the funniest thing I've ever seen. Or is it not straight to go to the movie with 4 other guys.

Have not seen this yet, but Will now. Seems it might portray that this era was not one-dimensional the "Anglos vs. Uncivilization" history book version (the Chinese had blue fireworks when the Brits were still painting themselve blue, no dis on Robert the Bruce my Scots peeps).

Pirates and or merchant mariners/mercenaries picked up and enhanced the trade from many, many, many, did I say many? cultures. Will bring my copy of "Shen-Ku" the art of traveling as reference.

Word. This movie had waaaaay too much crap in it. The guys who noted the overlapping plotlines and x character double-crossing y character every second hit the nail on the head. I also agree about the lack of character consistency, particularly with Elizabeth, but Jack also suffered from it as well. It was a gorgeous film, but I just don't think it did the first one justice and it was very poor compared to what it could it have been. I give it a rental.
