I was so happy to catch this episode here! I love their music especially Alex's music! It is a crying shame how drugs really f'ed him up and made him lose his track and focus. Thanks for uploading this one. I had never seen this episode. It was great going back down memory lane. This took me back to my teenage years. Alex and Cherrelle was the shit back in the day. They owned it. Yet, It was sad to see the tragedy and issues that occurred in their lives. Ooh! You could tell Alex did drugs. I did not know Cherelle was a rich girl though. I love Unsung documentaries. TVOne stays on top of it and gives us all the info. Lovin' It! Cherelle friend had me in tears. LOL

Always thought Alexander O'Neal was one of the best R&B singers right up there with Luthor and could see that he clearly allowed his drug addiction to effect his career negatively too. Luthor went beyond him because he kept pressing to move forward commercially and had more control of writing and producing and more creativity on the end of live shows too.

@clarkkent502 I'll answer that for you right now. A lot of R&B singers at the time were more vested in the artistic side of the music industry- not the music side. It also didn't help that a lot of them didn't really write and/or produce their own material. Without anyone to show them the ropes, they would instantly become the victim of predatory managers or label executives.

They should've done a separate documentary for Cherrelle. I understand the chemistry they had as a duo, but I think there was more to them individually, that should've been covered. All in all, I enjoyed watching this. Cherrelle has aged, but she still has great voice and she's still beautiful. Talent definitely runs in her family. Thank you for uploading.

@djb247365 ..I saw some footage in which Cherrelle stated that she initially said 'no' to doing UnSung and would have maintained that stance, until they told her that Alex was doing the show.... then they offered to do a combined show, and she said that it was the only reason she agreed to do the show because she'd rather not get so personal on her own. They edited a TON of clips out of her crying about Randy (they had to stop shooting), and I think that is what she was wanting to hold back on.
