  • Common Existence is amazing

  • this is why thursday is my favorite band. they're not afraid to be themselves in an era when everyone and everything is pushed to fit into some predetermined mold of what's normal or expected. some songs may not work for everyone -- but that's the risk taken when you try new things.

  • @stevennnjames I do love how talks about making music for yourself because you can't know who's gonna like what. Fans of Thursday are gonna range from being psyched for them pushing the post-hardcore template (even if it hadn't worked, though it totally did) to those who only like fullcollapse because of how much screaming they incorporated. It's completely why I love Brand New so much, they utterly run with making music for themselves.

  • It kinda struck a wrong chord with me when he said "we don't write music to play in front of a thousand screaming kids anymore." There's no feeling like being in a basement with a hundred other kid's whose hearts seem like they're going to explode (not literally) as they sing along. That is the whole reason I got into Thursday and why I have latched onto La Dispute as well. Fans understand that Geoff is exploring a more artistic side and while they're not rock hit, fans are still singing along.

  • @freestKyle2 -dude I saw them live today in a tiny basement in a shithole town, and they still put every ounce of themselves into their songs, he still cares about the kids in basements, he even said today that even though the bigger shows are fun being in a basement is how they were founded.

  • @freestKyle2 I don't think that he's saying he doesn't want that, he's just saying that it's not what he's thinking about when he writes a record. He's writing the record that he wants to write, regardless of whether or not he expects the kids to scream along to it at shows. He certainly still loves and supports basement shows.

  • beautiful part at the end of beyond the visible spectrum

  • I agree with everything he said.

I hate when people get disappointed when bands try to stretch in different directions, and then want them to go back to their "old sound". And then when bands actually do try and go back to their old sound, that disappoints me 'cause I know they could have put out a more creaitve/bolder record.

  • beyond the visable spectrum is such a good song. im happy they are playing it live :]

  • i wonder how taht shirt is still intact? hes worn that shirt so much

  • haha. Geoff is wearing "the" Georgia shirt on.

  • I love this man....in a straight way.

  • omg geoff ur freakin amazing one of a kind and im glad no other band can ever sound they way thursdays sounds keep it up much <3

  • awesome
