Oh ok, I just figured that the cold air would be alot better no matter what than having that hot air from underneath the hood get sucked in, you know...Thanks for you opinion though. Just want to make sure whats best before I buy a $300 part
I notice quite a few Nissan Altima 2.5's go with that short ram air intake. Do you know what's the difference in those and a cold air intake? Trying to figure out whats best for my '03 Altima 2.5
@topnotch1224 Seriously, the reason is you re not going to make a 2.5 altima a race car, and I find that the cold air is useless unless your feeding a bigger or turbo'd motor.
The short ram will also be more louder than a cold air. Which is the biggest reason I chose it.
I also advice you not to go with stillen and get another company possibly k&n who use a full short ram pipe direct to the throttle body instead of mine which is just connected to the stock rubber intake piping.
Ive got a 2.5 08' i just put on a new crank pulley on and am thinkn about tossing on a K&N Typhoon...do you notice a big difference in acceleration with your CAI. ive also heard you get a slight bump in MPG..you notice any. Thanks for the vid.
@GL0CK19onboard Listen man, maybe you ll notice a little bit of improved throlltle response but in the end it is just sound. Im serious! This car will not get faster with bolt ons and i have exhaust now too. My advice is make it sound good and thats it because youll not notice serious increase unless u boost it. also the MPG impovement is true but BS at the same time because unless u plan on drving under 3krpms your just going to waste more gas way faster bc all ur going to wanna do is hear it
dude yours is way nicer though how much did u spend. u should extend the intake a lil more by removin the plastic from the stock intake it will make a big diffrence
is this better than the K&N?

i agree, this isnt gonna help your power but if you want your car to sound alright and have a little bit better throttle response then do it

Im confused. What does this really do? I know it help the car to breathe better correct? Does it give more horsepower?

@Sw33TLoC Its 90% for the powerful sound 10% engine benefit I think, you can only get a maximum 7hp from an intake
