in 1824, a mental man was shipped all around to different asylums. a year later, he was in the showers and skinned a man (elbert simon)and slipred his flesh dry. they had to put him to sleep. they asked if he had one last request and he said yes. he went to the bathroom and carved 666 on his forehead. they gave him the shock treatment.since yu read this, he is going to come to your house in 6 hours and 66 seconds to skin you dry. you can make him go away by posting this 3 times ON A
Great work ! i am experimenting with the lpd6803 chip to make fully addressable lights for christmas trees. My controller is network connected so you can use a PC to make bitmaps which will be used to show on the pixels in your tree.
Please watch my video's. In youtube, search for: DatafoxChris
i have some 5mm rgb leds, and when i put them to mix colors, like if i have all the colors on, rather than giving pure white, you can see the different colors inside it.
if i put a filter on it (like a ball of scrunched paper) and the colors mix, i get the desired color, are my leds bad or is that how all rgb leds are?
Thats just how RGB LEDs are, this effect is alot stronger with 5mm LEDs 'cause they have a very narrow beam. My superflux also have that problem though. I am working with some surfacemout LEDs now that are very good in regards to that problem.
Thats just the way RGB-LEDs are, but this effekt isespecially visible in the 5 mm LEDs, since they have a very narrow viewing angle. my leds have about 100° viewing angle so the the different color mix a bit better, butyou can still see them.the best thing to do is either get some LEDs that have 180° viewing angle, or mount the leds behindsomething, so the actual LED isn't visible
Hello friend, I saw you controller schematic... I was looking for a driver for one of my projects, it uses 8051 microcontroller... can I drive IRF9530 directly from microcontroller port? In you circuit, you are switching the positive to your outputs, using negative as common, can I make the inverse using same IRF9530? Thanks a lot!
What would be really cool is a stick with a battery in it which you can pop onto the end of a composite video cable and it would be a 1x1 pixel full-color TV screen, with a 6MHz refresh rate
the software I wrote myself. You can get it on the website, which is in the description on the right. The last song is, I think, "Mando Diao - you can't steal my love"
the link doesnt work, so ill ask here. Is the software free for download anyhwhere? im bulding a computer and im going to use rgb leds and i was going to write a software but if this is avaiable it would take a lot less time for me.
one program I use is called Boblight(see video detail for link). It basically takes a screenshot, analyzes it and sends the RGB values through the comport.
The other Program, the one with the triangle, I wrote myself. I can send you the source if you want. it is in c#
I have a scematic of the circuit, which is missing the RS232 interface, but I can send it to you anyways if you want.
I can also send you the code for the Atmega8 which I use.

well, do you have any way i can fix it without wasting alot of light? (a ball of paper makes it very dim)
skierplaterandy 2 years ago
you can try sandig off the plastic-casing of the LED a bit
dolulob 2 years ago
like to make it flat on the top?

yeah its free.
I will have to look for other webspace, since the one now can't handle the traffic you guys create :)
write me an e-mail and I'll send you the software

May I have ?It is so amzing.

Hi! Wow! thats a lot of RGB LED!
What plug-in are you using in winamp?
Could you send me the Triangle program?
Does it uset the same serial protocol as the MoMolight/Boblight?
oid123 3 years ago
Hi,
you can get the software on the site in the description.
It might be down sometimes, due to excessive traffic. sorry about that. It usually works the first 2 weeks of every month :)
I changed the protocol a little. The controller just waits for 3 bytes, and then sets those as RGB values.
Check my other video, THOSE are alot of RGB leds :)
dolulob 3 years ago
Ah ok :) I'll keep an eye out for it!
I have seen you other video! Waay too many! Wait... there is no such thing as too many LEDs
Thanks for the info!

To everybody asking me questions about this project and for help building this:
I will answer all your emails!!!
But at the moment I am really busy with other stuff, so please be patient if the reply doesn't come right away.

Which LEDs did you use? Could you please tell its model and manufacturer and give the manufacturer's site address if it is possible?
freeman2605 4 years ago
I use Superbright Superflux RGB LEDs
I can send you the manufacturer by email...

you sell the RGB Controller? Whats a price?? i PAY!

I might in the future, when I have some time.

Could you do a strip so its mountable behind a moniter?
DeFlanko 4 years ago
sure, in the video at about 15 sec. you can see part of a strip. the strips can be any lenght and can easily be mounted behind a monitor or TFT

How do you make the cluster? i mean the rigth order of RGB leds.
I'd like to build one circuit like this, i'm impressed.
Can you send me schematic and code? Tks.

What program is that, did you write it yourself? could you send me the program and the circuit board diagram?
