  • I bet you loved it! lol! The livelier ones are better!

  • Stomach Mainenance

    Should stomach maintenance be forgot

    And never brought to pubs

    Should stomach maintenance be forgot

For the sake of Irish pubs

For very merry pubs my dear

    For merry Irish pubs

Let's take more pints of Irish beer

For the sake of irish pubs...

  • i love the crazy moonshine song, there just a crazy bunch of guys.... love scott england

  • not great!

  • With a few slight variations..IT IS the WILD ROVER..

And I don't see wth is so 'crazy'' about it.

    It's a cool son,g and I like it enough!

  • the start of this song sounds alot like the wild rover!!

  • They are using the same chords..Thats why they sound the same!!

  • no thats not why...its because they rhyme 'manys a year' with 'whiskey and beer' the same as they do in the wild rover...if uve herd both songs ud surly notice that!!

  • How come all the irish music makes you so happy? :D

  • I've got this song on CD :)

  • Yes indeed! I have often played with this group and they're a great bunch of lads to perform with and go for many pints afterwards - really knowledgable about Irish song and music - the song shown here doesn't capture the spirit of the band in full swing. The dancers are cool - they really put their soul into it - glad you liked it.

  • River dancing young ladies were very nice, but the camera memory ran out so no beauties can be found here. There was a drum solo that was simply amazing. My guess is it was some sort of Irish drum from bygone days. Any details on that?

  • The drum solo was done on the bodhran (pronounced "bowrawn" it's a uniquely Irish instrument. You can see Ivan of the Merry Ploughboys playing it on YouTube - just search on the band name.

  • The man that is second from the left isn't mentioned at the website. He performed with the band when I was there in July 2007. What is his name? Is he just an occasional performer?

  • Band are called the Merry Ploughboys and this is a great sing-along drinking song called the Moonshiner - it's very similar to the Wild Rover.

  • Thanks for the details, Merry. Coincidence, or are you a member of this band? Band was good and energetic, just wasn't my cup of tea. Now the River Dancing that followed, that was fantastic. I love watching that dance in person.

  • Great band

  • iz it weird that i like that sort of music........i think itz funny

  • i'm not sure the tune to that song is right...

  • then you fully understand the torture until our ears bled Guinness.

  • ha!
