The fundamental idea of free speech is the ability to say any opinion regardless of how offensive it is to society, (with the exception of explicitly inciting violence). If you want to express hate you should be allowed to if not you don't have free speech.

The free speech debate get tricky when it comes to matters such as purposefully inciting violence. The break comes in at the junction where words and actions are two completely different things, but words can indeed inspire actions.

The US is 1 nation. The EU is several nations. The sovereignty of a US state is hardly comparable to the sovereignty of a nation, although the Lisbon treaty is going to change that. In Canada its only hate speech if you incite violence against a distinguishable group. You can opine your personal feelings about anyone you like, just dont try to talk others into hurting them.
I vaguely remember reading that someone dismissed the holocaust as myth as was facing jail time. The guy sounded like a prick who would be well served with time in jail, but I think the speech laws in most of Europe are far too strict and he shouldn't go to jail for that reason.

It would seem to me that you are applying a slippery slope argument here. The mere fact that there is no bright line which separates acceptable satire and legitimate political agitation from racist propaganda does not mean that it is impossible to draw useful distinctions.

I think the quran is the source of violence, and the religion itself will never be peaceful. It's like christianity with its bible. This is why I think it is so important to do our best to point out how morally bankrupt and reprehensible it is to endorse modern religions in any way. Especially with moderates who don't seem to realize what they are enabling. The adults are probably a lost cause, but the young aren't jaded and can usually be shown what a loathsome industry it is. The perfect fix would be the technology to force each person to pay for the net negative impact they have on everyone else. That would kill it fast.

Most sensible thing I've seen on youtube in quite a while. People refuse to acknowledge that the bible is a book, written and edited by men. It is not divine.

i support youtube. the only reason christian dont get offended is because other religion dont attack it. christians is the only ppl that attacks other ppl religion. if u dont agree just think about it for a while. and i know what i am talkin about i was a christian

The fundamental idea of free speech is the ability to say any opinion regardless of how offensive it is to society, (with the exception of explicitly inciting violence). If you want to express hate you should be allowed to if not you don't have free speech.
If an idea or philosophy angers/disgusts you so much that to be open about your feelings to it would produce nothing but vile hate, then wouldn't hate speech restrict your right to voice an opinion the same way as most other censorship?

AtheistBrit : It's not to late you could be on your death bed and you can still be forgiven. You see far more believe in an all powerful GOD than don't. "IT'S JUST A FACT" and nature is the real truth of life, just look at how it act's together so perfectly you know it was deigned. Anyway I wish you luck and hope one day we can meet in heaven.
