Turkish delight is yummy 4 sure, but the point of this song (& concept taken from C.S.Lewis' Narnia Chronicles) is not to let your appetite/lust for yummy things drive you to be sucked into co-orperating with the enemy of your soul!
I think one of the key points being put forth by CS Lewis is that the Children have unsophisticated appetites...and how easy it is to corrupt their life...how wonderful it would be if everyone could resist the simplest temptations.
This song actually captured that part of the book better than the movie did! That was the only part of the movie I didn't like, they should have made the Turkish delight look a LOT more addictive, Edmund was just lightly snacking on them! The song, in contrast, got it perfectly.
i think 41-44 says "she took her quote to cover me with a quiver cold as ice, what do you want? turkish delight" and 127-130 says "i would sell you out, I'd give you all away, a life of treats might do me in but i gotta get another taste.
Turkish Delight = debt people are going into. They need more and more to keep their lives going. too sad that sooner or later they find themselves in a prison they don't know how to get out.

OMG!!!! i can't help but start cracking up when i watch this it's so HILARIOUS!!! it's like totally not DCB's style of music and it's funny to listen to !!!!!!! i'm ROFL PIMP!!!!
It is good to have a box of Turkish Delights to hand, because when it get to that time of month when you want to scratch someone eyes out, have a few, and then you feel suddenly more relaxed. Finish with a strong Turkish coffee et voila.
there was a lot of stuff that wasnt in the movie, but it was still really good. alot of stuff was straight out of Lord of the Rings, like the treefolk, immediately followed by the attack of a mighty figure made out of water
I always thgought that scene of the movie was a real disappointment, because it didn't do a good job of conveying just how addictive the Turkish Delight was. Edmund was just lightly snacking on a couple of them, but in the book he was stuffing his face with all of them. As I recall, in the book, it even mentions that Edmund would have eaten himself to death if there had been enough of it. The song does an absolutely brilliant job of recreating that part of the book. Very catchy.
well you have to figure... Skandar had to do take after take of eating a lot of the stuff anyways. in the commentary it says that he got really sick just by having as much as he did. its a bit easier writing down how much Edmund ate... but actually eating that much is a different story!!
