EA Hockey games are ten times better than the 2ks to begin with.

More intensity. Faster pace. Intense fights. Epic gameplay and option modes. Goalie mode etc etc.....

You have to play this from Side Camera or TV or whatewer it is called... it s fantastic than. Puck shadow? - it was 1st thing I did when I bought it 3/4 year ago - turn it off... and it s just my opinion, I will not argue here with anyone, but this game is waaay more realistic than EA NHL, I was playing EA hockey till 99 to 2006, than switched to 2K6 , than 7, than 8, ... 9 and i havent but 10 got and it s really great. Even better than EA NHL 11!!! when i download demo I was laughing as hell.

the stick play in this game seems realistic....the skating feels really slow and the hitting is terrible. EA's is still much better if you are looking for a realistic hockey experience, but neither is perfect yet.

I am going to post some videos soon of this game using the Broadcast angle camera. Although overall I believe NHL 10 is a more solid game, NHL 2k10 looks most like a TV broadcast while using the braodcast camera angle. stay tuned!

I would agree that this is my biggest issue with this game. players floating and often times standing still with no reaction after goals are scored. looks strange.  Can still be a fun game at times if you can overlook some of the bizarre stuff.

yes most definitely. One of the biggest upsides of this game is the ice and stadium environments.  player movement can be very bizarre at times, but the ice is great. You will see LCD board reflections early in the period as well as skate trails. And the ice gets chopped up as the period goes on, and you will no longer see reflections.
