because linux is very good system(or whatever it is). it just needs some money to make it better than windows. Apple is doomed with their MAC's. They should make everything on PC's (OS, design e.t.c.)
@ffelix8 the reason why they don't let anybody make macs is because they tries it once with OS 7 and loads of companies made really slow macs and apple were afraid it would happen again if they let pc manufacturers make macs

@Watswat5 yeah, I know their are loads and loads of quick Windows PCs out their, it's just things like the atom and things like that which apple are afraid companies will make macs with. But also I think it probably does come down to them wanting 100% profit as well
