I believe it was this show's closing credits music that was the most haunting music of my early years. If anyone ever uploads it, I'd be the most appreciative and fascinated person on this site.
Watching the scenes on the show of vehicles speeding on an elevated roadway I wondered as a kid of anything like that could ever exist. And of course it did come to exist, as did almost all the futuristic stuff on the show. Done live, the show ended up with considerable improvisation on the air though most of the actors seldom broke character. We kids worshiped the show.
Might be crappy from todays perspective Jomogogo, but back then it was the one of the best things going, besides it sure got a young boys imagination working
Actually,tv itself was still new so yeah this wouldve been great fun then :)
@TheJomogogo Why is it "hard to believe"? How can you expect a new technological medium to just come out fully formed? Nothing in the real world happens like that, all things start out primitive, and primitive does not mean "crappy".
Very cool, one might not want to watch 5 of these in a row, but one can see some of the origins of Star Trek here and it is one of the earliest series I remember too.
@gnikcohs Check out Rocky Jones also for some excellent pre Star Trek. Especially if you can find the full episode of 'The Gypsy Moons'. I was probably 5 yo when I first saw it and it stuck with me until I rediscovered it this year.
Loved this show in the 50s. I even ordered the Space Patrol spaceship dashboard they offered on the show. Was fun to play along at home.

My mother and brother went to Phila and met Frankie Thomas and my mother became friends with him and his mother-this is incredible to see.

Not all the costumes are original! Notice the bad guy is wearing Tom Tyler's costume from the Captain Marvel serial.

My brother watched all these outer space shows. Fun to reminisce.

This is the earliest series that I actually remember from my childhood. It pre-dates such memories as Lassie, Sky King, and Fury.

Great to see this part of a very, very early episode, with the original costumes. Apparently from 1950?
