@Ubon94 - Essan was part of Laos. If Essan was not part of Laos then explain how relative of the same family live on both side the Mekong river. I remember my mom took to Essan to visit relatives,

The funny part is that the Essan people forget that they were Lao and then the pretend to be Thai and made fun of us Lao when we cross the mekong river after the fall in 1975.
