I believe the reason why the mainstream media are ignoring this particular news item is that many people have invested a lot of their time, a lot of their money and in some cases their whole identity into the global warming theory by climbing aboard global warming bandwagon.

I've been following this story with great interest. I'm an AGW skeptic and have been for over a decade. So far this story looks genuine but we need to be careful that it's not an elaborate hoax. If it is a hoax and the AGW skeptics buy into it hook, line, and sinker then this will be a huge victory for the global warming hystericists.
Did you know that this University Hadley admits they had a data breech, but will not admit that the data is Hadley CRU. This is the group that is the center of scientific center of Global Warming.

Russians are now 99% sure the data is Hadley's and proof is now under review.

A few of the doctors involved have confirmed that they are the emails they themselves sent. Apperently there is another 100mb missing,maybye they hacker or whistleblower will release more if they go into denial mode. I noticed the lack of coverage,its on loads of blogs and small news sites but the BBC have taken the stance that `Climate Change` is expected to create more flooding etc. The information has been sought after by the freedom of information act for years!
We should be v concerned that this msm has buried this while it as been raging through the internet. This is the greatest scandal of the century. These emails are proof of criminal activity amongst top scientists who influence world opinion on AWG. It is clear to most sane people now, that we have been spun a crock of lies and the msm have run for cover.Scandal at ClimateRewriteUnit`apart,the real worry is the censorship of the msm.Does anyone still think we are living in a democracy?
I think mainstream media probably isn't reporting on the hacked files simply because of how they were obtained. They probably dont want to risk doing a big story on any "smudging" that enviromentilists do to their information because if they're wrong they could be sued or worse. Personally I think it's kind of gross that people would go so far as to change their numbers and findings just to sway a few minds, but it's not suprising in any way. I'm sure there are some number crunches on both sides

However they reassure me that it's 100% legal to report content regardless of whether it's fake or not. Just as long as you're not suggesting that's it's definitely true/false.

People might connect the dots better, about just what a huge Scandal this all is, if the 'The Hadley Centre' was mentioned.

Actually...the mainstream press back in Nixon's day *did* try to demonize 'Deepthroat' and characterize the whole WaterGate scandal as a witch hunt.

We know higher temperatures cause an increase of CO2, not the opposite.
We know many peroids of warmer and? colder weather (and higher and lower CO2) have happened for thousands of years.
We know the Mars polar ice caps grow and shrink with the Earth polar ice caps, which means warming and cooling is primarily caused by sun changes.
Hang the climate totalitarians!
We need 100% separation of science and state.
Government funded science == fraud.
