@LDS4Life71 really? I have read the LDS own literature and as far as I can tell there is no misrepresentation in this video. Some of the beliefs are no longer very popular but the story is pretty accurate. Maybe you should get your head out of your ass and read your own scriptures and while you are at it, do some research on Joseph Smith and how he created a religion out of complete fantasy (not unique in that, but he did it at a time newspapers were published and records kept)
@fonkymaster Yes, originally, black skin was a curse. However, the people with black skin today are not cursed. They are just the descendants of those people who were cursed.

actually they do, even if its by default aa they are totally ignorant of it because MORmONS auto matically defer to their founders/ leaders on doctrinal matters
and MORmON founders DEFINITELY DID teach this crap !
@LDS4Life71 I KNOW that Joseph Smith was a liar and deciever... I mean, what more obvious lie than "I found some golden plates with some special writing that only I can read but nobody else can even see them"...
@dangerouslytalented You don't know squat. There have 60 examples found since Smith found his of plates excavated from the Ground dating back to ancient times like Smith, and several examples have even been bound by metal rings like Smiths so what you are saying is as retarded regurgitated BS just like you.
@LDS4Life71 Just because plates may have been found, does not mean that (A) Smiith found plates (B) Smith could actually read those plates if he found them (C) those plates said what Smith said they said and (D) the words on those plates were the inerrant word of god.
@dangerouslytalented It doesn't mean that he didn't either. Smith couldn't read them. He had to use the Urim and Thummin to translate them. Smith without them nor being in tune with the Spirit of the LORD, Smith couldn't read them so in part you are correct.
@LDS4Life71 But we do have evidence that HE HAS MADE STUFF UP. He had bought some scrolls which he said were the "book of abraham" and "translated" as such, complete with illustrations. The original scrolls were lost Turned out that those illustrations were common in egyptian burial scrolls, which due to the work of Dr Carter's work with the Rosetta Stone, can be translated now.
The contents of the originals have nothing to do with Abraham.
ok smart guy. show us your evidence. The book of Abraham is not due to scrolls of egyptian burial. The book was given to Joseph via revelation from God.
@LDS4Life71 It is simple how they know, the illustrations and layout are exactly the same as egyptian burial scrolls, the only thing that is changed is the words bear no relation to what the heiroglyphics say. Had Smith been able to translate them correctly, then the burial scrolls (which are comparatively common) would have said the same thing once translated.
@LDS4Life71 Why don't you show us your invisible immaterial gold plates instead? The LDS is no more fake than many other religions, but at least the others have the veil of time protecting their falsehoods (see "road to Damascus"). The LDS origin is so preposterous it's laughable. A religion founded by a convicted con artist and we still argue their legitimacy. Only in America.
@LDS4Life71 Well of course it's a distortion, because obviously none of the claims made in this cartoon are legitimate or true. I do have to somewhat agree with you, atheism is like a cockroach infestation. I can see how. I personally am LDS if you didn't catch that earlier.
Wait! But what this film failed to further explain, about Joseph Smith, is he had a hemp and cocoa bean farm at his home in upstate New York, and for some religious, miracle awakening his religious, story visions of faith came about! From then on, his followers continued in his faithful footsteps to fulfill Joseph Smith's visionary prophecy which is today The L.D.S.! Joseph Smith was truly a dedicated farmer to his crops and a prophet! LOL!
The Mormon church's stance on blacks was changed to coincide with anti-discrimination laws. Prior to that point, blacks were banned from the priesthood, and the "curse of Cain" was indeed given by Brigham Young as the reason for it in a speech on the topic made in 1849; "The Lord had cursed Cain's seed with blackness and prohibited them the Priesthood."
I just spent some time talking to my Mormon neighbor, and I now realize what has happened to people like you. You are like many Roman Catholics; you don't truly understand what your religion espouses because it's filtered through some "prophet" or priest whose job it is to keep you in line. Yet, you profess this poorly-understood belief to be gospel.
That represents a unique combination of ignorance and arrogance which you reflect vividly.
@donfishmaster I understand alright. atheists like you are delusional, and do not have real scientific facts to back up anything including the belief in "other universes."
@LDS4Life71 Again, as a non-LDS living in an LDS-rich environment, I have the opportunity to spend lots of time studying what LDS doctrine consists of; rather than ranting like an idiot, kindly explain how this video does not seamlessly match LDS doctrine. Many LDS folks here keep saying,"this isn't what we believe", yet their church explicitly DOES accept these principles. Either LDS members universally ignore church doctrine or church doctrine has secretly been changed to protect the ignorant.
@donfishmaster You are still on the outside looking in. You cannot define what we believe. I have read Mormon Doctrine, and it's like this video is a spin off spoof of it by steven Cobear.
@LDS4Life71 You are completely wrong. ONLY an outside entity can define what you "believe." Every myth-belief system in the world defines their own set of rituals, supernatural beliefs, and deity characteristics as the accepted "true and accurate" myth-belief system; whatever "evidence" they present is invariably NOT evidence but circular logic based on their mystic writings. As such, your "Doctrines" provide no more proof or Mormonism than Harry Potter books do for Schools of Wizardry.
@donfishmaster Further, these ARE documented doctrines of your professed myth-belief system. If you don't accept them, fine. However, that would make you substantially less-than-qualified to voice ANY convincing or conclusive evidence on their validity since you would in essence be picking and choosing which doctrines to accept, and would consequently have a partial/hybrid Mormon faith (at best.)
@donfishmaster The church of Jesus christ is restored, and the apostacy and restoration of His church is completely biblical. Call it Myth-based all you want. Atheism is a self deluding process you put yourselves thru, and it's scientific in the least. Consequently let's just agree to disagree.
I know the book of Mormon is 100% authentic part of ancient meso america, and FAIR scholars have given 81 evidences that it toook place there.
@LDS4Life71 No, this is blatantly false. There is no evidence of these huge battles that supposedly took place, native-Americans genomes are definitively linked as being from Sino-Asian decent (not Hebrew), etc., etc. The only people who accept what you are saying are those indoctrinated in the Mormon propaganda myth-belief; this is not meant ot be inflammatory, it is a fact.
@donfishmaster DNA is a terrible arguement at best. It is clear that Lehi and his party when they arrived were not alone, and there were people already living there, and they settled nearby.
again. You are completely clueless to what is fact.
90% of remaining Natives were killed by Pox with European introduction. You are so pathetic. DNA doesn't provide answers, but more questions.
@LDS4Life71 "DNA is a terrible arguement at best..."
Interesting...you blithely dismiss DNA evidence, but accept as gospel the writings of a pedophilic philanderer who devised a myth-belief to enrich himself socially and financially.
Truly, this must require herculean propaganda indoctrination from cradle-to-grave. Given what I've seen of your myth-believers' Stepford-wife-type attitude towards your "prophets" and disdain for logic and reason, J. Smith was the Charles Ponzi of religion.
@donfishmaster Just like over 60 archaeological digs throughout the world haven't found similar metal plates for writing in the past either, huh. Some weren't found bound by metal rings either huh.
LDS members are proof that a con-man (Joseph Smith) can successfully convince large groups of people to believe and follow a nut with a nutty message. At least Jews and Christians have the Dead Sea Scrolls.
work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet." (Joseph Smith, History of the Church, Volume 6 Pages 408-409)
Here read from your own church history book the arrogance of joe smith claiming himself better than JESUS:
"I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away f
The real problem I have with mormons, besides the pompous arrogance , is that if you present ten provable facts about the inconsistent doctrine and first (sighting/s) they will still say you're lying or making up stuff. Here read from your own church history book the arrogance of joe smith:
Mormon quote from Joe Smith
"I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority o
Uh... this cartoon isn't true about mormons. It takes a concept from their book and blows it WAY out of porportion. Its just not true. Real mormons aren't like this. They are really nice people. I used to date a mormon; he wasn't anything like this. What you see just isn't the mormon religion. Heck: Its not even really called "the mormon" religion. The church itself has a different name. Its sad no one ever mentions that.
@Alevan "It takes a concept from their book and blows it WAY out of proportion. Its just not true." So it is true then, by your own admission. Joseph Smith is the prophet of mormon faith, and your ex might have been a nice person but that doesn't stop him from being stupid enough to believe in this crap.
@Alevan You are making two separate arguments, one true, the other fallacious.
Some Mormons can be great people (some can be pricks.) Ok, fine.
That has NOTHING to do with whether the concepts presented in this video are based on fact or not. I've spent a LOT of time researching the LDS church over the past few years (non-LDS in an LDS state can do that) and there is nothing in this video that isn't supported by the LDS myth-belief system.
It does support that "nice" people can be deluded.
@mjohanss1975 Actually, three of those are true. The original garden of eden was not in Missouri. However, i do not recall those other three in this cartoon. We do believe that Christ appeared to those who were in America after He was resurrected, and that the original people of the Americas were indeed white. The "tablets" you are referring are the golden plates, which had the records of those native Americans inscribed upon them, and we do believe that Joseph Smith found them
@donfishmaster One last time, I'm done with you. I see that there is no point in arguing with you because you are apparently not going to change your views. And besides, you're just bugging the crap out of me. You and your obnoxious, immature, snarky, IQ-lowering comments. Enough.
@TheTurts1 Hey,after all of your condescending,"smarmy"comments, screw you. I try to discuss things in realistic terms. Look at your idiotic, half-wit comments to mjohnss above. "I believe" and "we believe" seems to be all it takes for you to determine something is factual.
And by the way you nasty little prick. I WOULD be willing to change my views if evidence suggested otherwise (that IS science.) No amount of evidence would change your ridiculous myth-beliefs from some "prophet's" propaganda
@donfishmaster. That's it. I'm done arguing with you. I'm convinced that my IQ has actually gone down from talking to you. Seriously, what is your problem. You are just certain that this uninformed cartoon crap is right. I'm just gonna let you believe whatever the heck you want. I am sick and tired of you and the complete and utter waste of time this has been. If you're just gonna be so ignorant, go ahead and do that. But I'm through with you and your nonsense.
@TheTurts1 Ahh...this must be the Mormon equivalent of, "OOOhhh, damn you! Quit bothering me with EVIDENCE & FACTS! (fingers pop into ears...) I'm right, you're wrong, and I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"
@donfishmaster Okay then, if evidence is how the world works, then show me some physical evidence that it is NOT true. I want some actual evidence showing that the LDS church isn't true. Try to find some of that.
@TheTurts1 I can't. Nor can I provide conclusive evidence that vicious carnivorous unicorns don't exist on a distant planet, that The Flying Spaghetti Monster oversees our daily activities from an invisible sixth dimension, or that Mohammed had a magic flying donkey.
Congratulations! Mormonism falls into the same category as those other ridiculous assertions!
I'm not making the assertion that Mormon myth-beliefs are real...YOU ARE! As such, YOU have the burden to prove their veracity.
@TheTurts1 "Okay then, if evidence is how the world works..."
Yes, evidence IS how the world works. The fact that you wrote that statement as if it was a first-time revelation substantially explains your reliance on your myth-belief and exposes a deep lack of education and understanding of the physical world.
@TheTurts1 As an example, if you come home tonight (assuming you're married) and find your spouse vigorous copulating with a younger member of the opposite sex and they say, "It's OK! Don't worry! Many years ago a divine being told me this is what I was SUPPOSED to do, and if you aren't supportive of these efforts, you are not being godly" what evidence would you have to dispute that claim?
OOOoopppss, sorry, forgot..that ridiculous story has already been accepted by Mormons worldwide.
"You are my witnesses," declares the Lord, "and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me."
Whoa wtf is this?! This is actually original mormon doctrine?! I was particularly offended by the part explaining about us black ppl which is total BULLSHIT!! Lets get somthing straight here; theres no viable theory about this so called "war in heaven" and human life originated in ALL parts of the world; east, west, north, central and south. Im black so i guess that means that im under a divine curse? Puh-leeeeze!
"You are my witnesses," declares the Lord, "and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me."(there is no gods just God, none of this is biblical.)
@Gryffster I see you are certainly a good little faggot. Whoops, I mean christian. Please enlighten me about how christianity makes soooo much more sense that mormonism.
@donfishmaster Must i elaborate more, or do you finally understand what I'm really getting at here? I will gladly elaborate more if I have to, but it'll be hard to go more in depth with this.
@TheTurts1 "I will gladly elaborate more if I have to, but it'll be hard to go more in depth with this".
Elaboration isn't what's required to persuade reasonable people of the veracity of your Mormon myth-beliefs. Evidence is the standard used to help develop hypotheses and support theories.
From what I have been able to gather, your myth-belief set is supported by..."less-than-convincing" evidence.
@donfishmaster Okay then, where would the "high qualified third party evaluator" gets its information? Most likely, they would get it from biased people. All they do is collect all the reports together and share what others believe about it. Pretty much, the only way you will get an unbiased opinion on which is better is if you go to someone who has no knowledge whatsoever of either. Either way, how would YOU know if the information is credible? YOU WOULD HAVE TO TEST IT YOURSELF!!!
@fireflygeek how would a non-affiliated neutral party know anything about the car if they've never had experience with it? It would be like going up to a Honda guy and asking him what his true opinions on a Ford are. He wouldn't have honest opinions because he has a Honda, not a Ford. If you want the truth, you need to talk to someone affiliated with the LDS Church. Just because we are part of it doesn't necessarily mean that we are biased, we just know more about it from "hands-on experiance.
@TheTurts1 If I wanted an evidence-based, unbiased appraisal of the merits and defects of a car I would go to an uninvested, highly qualified third party evaluator like Consumer Reports, Road & Track, Motor Trend, etc. I would NOT ask a person whose family has only owned Fords, works for Ford, was raised owning Fords, and has decals of little boys pissing on Chevys to give me an accurate and unbiased opinion of Fords vs. Chevys.
@TheTurts1 I completely understand what you're saying. You seem to be willfully ignoring what I'm saying.
Analyzing a belef system REQUIRES an external lens. Justifying Mormonism from Mormon writings and propaganda does no more to justify its veracity than does the "sacred" writings and beliefs of the tens of thousands of other religions on the planet. In essence, "because the Mormons say so" isn't enough evidence to make your unfounded beliefs validated or true.
Oh my gosh, are you serious? Are you just too ignorant to understand what I'm trying to say? I did not say that farming and religion are the same thing. I used a metaphor to describe something you obviously didn't understand. And I know what farming is thank you very much. I do not need somebody to reiterate to me things i already know. Now how about you actually try to understand for once. I don't care if you believe it or not, just try to understand what I'm saying.
Finally, the Quran does not have anything to do with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We believe the Bible to be the Word of God, as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe to be the Word of God. That is one of our Articles of Faith, which helps others understand our beliefs.
@donfishmaster And as i've said in all my past comments, if you want to really know what our true beliefs are, read the Book of Mormon. It's not propaganda, it's the true account of the ancient prophets in the Americas. It is most importantly, as it says on the cover, another testament of Jesus Christ.
@donfishmaster you obviously don't get what I'm trying to get at. Let me put it in a different way. If you wanted to learn about working on a farm, who would you go talk to? An actual farmer, or a person who has read about farming or studied farming but has never had any hands-on experience. Obviously, you would go with the farmer correct? It's the same principle here, you can't expect to go to a non affiliated websites and get true facts. The haven't had any "hands-on" experience.
@TheTurts1 Farming is a technology and a science. Processes can be monitored, workflows analyzed, best-practices determined over time from rigorous scientific investigations, theories developed and tested on the effects of weather, fertilizer, etc.
Mormonism is a belief system based on a book written by individuals whose livelihoods and lifestyles were dependent on convincing underlings of unproven, unprovabl (and mostly disproven)testimonies. If you can't see the difference, take a science class
@TheTurts1 A better metaphor would probably be this: If you are planning on purchasing a new car, and want to know whether or not a Ford automobile is going to suit your needs, the absolute worst person to ask would be a Ford salesman - he is biased and cannot be trusted to give you completely accurate information on the topic. The most accurate information comes from nonaffiliated, neutral parties. It's the same with religions.
If you pay attention to the language used, this was most certainly not made by mormons, as it tries to point out flaws. "Claimed they were buried" "He was well know for tall tales." Also, we do not believe we will be judged by Joseph Smith, we do not worship Joseph Smith, and we do not expect to become "polygamist gods"
@donfishmaster The Book of Mormon is the best way to find out about us. If you need more "sources" yes, do use mormon.org or lds.org. Maybe in the way you see it, these sites might be biased, but if so, wouldn't that make the non-affiliated websites biased also? Using mormon.org or lds.org, you can see what our true beliefs are, not the warped version of people who have no clue what they're saying. Read the Book of Mormon first, and then if you have questions, go to the websites i mentioned.
@TheTurts1 Your logic dictates that if you want to understand any belief system you should rely most heavily on that belief system's propaganda;this is simply ridiculous. For example, read the Quran then visit several Islamic websites and see if the "facts" you gather don't all support Islam. This is simply an extended form of circular logic.
Evidence-based reviews by individuals not affiliated with the organization is an infinitely more legitimate means of conducting valid research on a topic.
@donfishmaster Your argument also is flawed, if you read the Quran then visit several Islamic Hate sites and see the facts... They'll all be fucked up and showing Islam as a fucked up twisted religion full of hate for all mankind. Though it most definitely isn't
Wow, the writer of this was very imaginative and creative. Unfortunately this is a work of half truthed fiction. I'm a mormon and can tell you the claims in this video
@sassysilver20 Are you enjoying your fucked up cult then? Everything about your religion has been proven wrong... like how the Native Americans were the lost tribe of Israel...HA HA HA HA. The Genome places their ancestry in Asia, not The Middle East. Also the Massacres carried out by Mormons...
Mormons believe that it is not essential for you to have the same Mormon faith, just that you have faith at all. I am a non-practicing Mormon but still have the same basic beliefs. I counted 42 lies and fabrications. Garbage!
:I My crazy polygamist aunts and cousins tried to tell me these stories as a child when they babysat me.

@LDS4Life71 I KNOW that Joseph Smith was a liar and deciever... I mean, what more obvious lie than "I found some golden plates with some special writing that only I can read but nobody else can even see them"...
dangerouslytalented 1 week ago
@dangerouslytalented You don't know squat. There have 60 examples found since Smith found his of plates excavated from the Ground dating back to ancient times like Smith, and several examples have even been bound by metal rings like Smiths so what you are saying is as retarded regurgitated BS just like you.
LDS4Life71 1 week ago
@LDS4Life71 Just because plates may have been found, does not mean that (A) Smiith found plates (B) Smith could actually read those plates if he found them (C) those plates said what Smith said they said and (D) the words on those plates were the inerrant word of god.
dangerouslytalented 1 week ago
@dangerouslytalented It doesn't mean that he didn't either. Smith couldn't read them. He had to use the Urim and Thummin to translate them. Smith without them nor being in tune with the Spirit of the LORD, Smith couldn't read them so in part you are correct.
LDS4Life71 1 week ago
@LDS4Life71 But we do have evidence that HE HAS MADE STUFF UP. He had bought some scrolls which he said were the "book of abraham" and "translated" as such, complete with illustrations. The original scrolls were lost Turned out that those illustrations were common in egyptian burial scrolls, which due to the work of Dr Carter's work with the Rosetta Stone, can be translated now.
The contents of the originals have nothing to do with Abraham.
dangerouslytalented 1 week ago
@dangerouslytalented "We have evidence".
ok smart guy. show us your evidence. The book of Abraham is not due to scrolls of egyptian burial. The book was given to Joseph via revelation from God.
LDS4Life71 1 week ago
@LDS4Life71 It is simple how they know, the illustrations and layout are exactly the same as egyptian burial scrolls, the only thing that is changed is the words bear no relation to what the heiroglyphics say. Had Smith been able to translate them correctly, then the burial scrolls (which are comparatively common) would have said the same thing once translated.
dangerouslytalented 1 week ago
@LDS4Life71 Why don't you show us your invisible immaterial gold plates instead? The LDS is no more fake than many other religions, but at least the others have the veil of time protecting their falsehoods (see "road to Damascus").

In other words it's FALSE
LDS4Life71 2 weeks ago
@LDS4Life71 You are completely wrong. ONLY an outside entity can define what you "believe." Every myth-belief system in the world defines their own set of rituals, supernatural beliefs, and deity characteristics as the accepted "true and accurate" myth-belief system; whatever "evidence" they present is invariably NOT evidence but circular logic based on their mystic writings. As such, your "Doctrines" provide no more proof or Mormonism than Harry Potter books do for Schools of Wizardry.
donfishmaster 2 weeks ago
@donfishmaster Further, these ARE documented doctrines of your professed myth-belief system. If you don't accept them, fine. However, that would make you substantially less-than-qualified to voice ANY convincing or conclusive evidence on their validity since you would in essence be picking and choosing which doctrines to accept, and would consequently have a partial/hybrid Mormon faith (at best.)

From what I have been able to gather, your myth-belief set is supported by..."less-than-convincing" evidence.

TheTurts1 4 weeks ago
@donfishmaster And as i've said in all my past comments, if you want to really know what our true beliefs are, read the Book of Mormon. It's not propaganda, it's the true account of the ancient prophets in the Americas. It is most importantly, as it says on the cover, another testament of Jesus Christ.
TheTurts1 4 weeks ago
@donfishmaster you obviously don't get what I'm trying to get at. Let me put it in a different way. If you wanted to learn about working on a farm, who would you go talk to? An actual farmer, or a person who has read about farming or studied farming but has never had any hands-on experience. Obviously, you would go with the farmer correct? It's the same principle here, you can't expect to go to a non affiliated websites and get true facts. The haven't had any "hands-on" experience.
TheTurts1 4 weeks ago
@TheTurts1 Farming is a technology and a science. Processes can be monitored, workflows analyzed, best-practices determined over time from rigorous scientific investigations, theories developed and tested on the effects of weather, fertilizer, etc.
Mormonism is a belief system based on a book written by individuals whose livelihoods and lifestyles were dependent on convincing underlings of unproven, unprovabl (and mostly disproven)testimonies. If you can't see the difference, take a science class
donfishmaster 3 weeks ago
@TheTurts1 A better metaphor would probably be this: If you are planning on purchasing a new car, and want to know whether or not a Ford automobile is going to suit your needs, the absolute worst person to ask would be a Ford salesman - he is biased and cannot be trusted to give you completely accurate information on the topic. The most accurate information comes from nonaffiliated, neutral parties. It's the same with religions.
