  • @scbilder dude - how much of this video did you watch? I'm pretty sure I said in the beginning if not at least at the END that she died... in 2003. a few years before this vid was made... (awkward moment for you?)

  • I HATE THE QUESTION, DID SHE SMOKE? LIKE SHE DESERVED IT............does it matter if she smoked? She was a cancer victim....LUNG CANCER IS THE NUMBER ONE KILLER OF WOMEN, KILLS MORE WOMEN THEN BREAST CANCER, YET NO FUNDING (OR VERY LITTLE) "SMOKING IS NOT A CRIME" ~No more than overeating is a crime, which causes diabetes and heart attacks......time for some funding for LUNG CANCER...stop asking if people with lung cancer smoked!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MAD9711 Yeah - since the age of 12 she smoked until at least a couple months before dying at age 53, which is WAY too young. Though she could've helped her life span's untimely end by quitting smoking, she couldn't give up the habit... so yes - IMHO - it's her fault because she chose her disease (addiction to smoking) over the possibility of seeing me go to college, get married, get my first house (in that order)... and now my dad won't see me have kids, as well.. :(

  • im sorry :( ! you two will see each other again and laugh and talk and smile. she is in a better world now where nobody can hurt her.-3

  • she is in a wonderful place no longer hindered by that broken vessel. she goes on and so does her memory and love. you will meet again . peace and love everybody .

  • chemo started 5/24, never got sick, lost hair from treatment - this time it really took a toll. 6/4 she had to be admitted. Hoped it was another case of pneumonia-She had 2 bouts with that in Feb & Mar. It wasn't the case. Since she was on Asprin to prevent clots, biopsy would be too risky-or they can do a levage- i think that was trumatic. Now on 15 liters O2, no way to go home. no improvement from steroids. By 6/17 it was bad. 6/20, she passed away with family all by her side. Still heartbrokn

  • @scrapplecheesesteak Very sorry to hear about her struggle. Glad to hear family was by her side - always good to hear someone didn't die alone... =) My mother passed in 2003 and I'm still heartbroken. I cry over anything having to do with mother/daughter relationships, moms dying in movies, songs about a lost loved one, ugh.... anything. Even mothers/babies in COMMERCIALS (cynical laugh). A bit bitter with God? Yes. How are your feelings toward God throughout all this? (hugs to you)

  • @KatatMKP Yes,it really is hard to see anything on TV about a son & his mom, movies, shows where a mom (or dad) dies-THAT hits me hard. I've had a few dreams with my mom in them-very vivid and detailed. When I wake up, wow it hurts and I think about it all day. Bitter with God? Oh yeah!! The slap in the face was that my mom was a saint-she helped people, saved animals-1 flaw, she smoked 4 decades-BUT finally quit Nov '08-Wanted to be around when my brother, new wife had a child...it was too late.

  • @scrapplecheesesteak Wow- My mom died before she could see me graduate college, get married, or get my own first house. I agree about the dreams - I had one Friday... I wake up crying every time... wow it's like a wound just about to heal, but it's stuck to a bandaid - which is then ripped off taking the scab with it.... it sucks so bad... my heart goes out to you.

  • So, so sorry for your loss. I know this pain and still coping with it...bad and ok days. It will be a year tomorrow since my mom was 1st diagnosed with lung cancer - even though I first saw some troubling signs as early as Aug '09. Oct. deeper cough, hoarse voice. She had a feeling and it was fear. Jan she was basically ok, good news that it was 'treatable'. Just too late, decline came so fast. Feb she had to be on O2. March it spread. Late April - stroke from Gemzar, chemo was stopped briefly..

  • There is a cure, you have to level your PH levels. PH levels are acidity levels, Meat is an acidity level which also causes cancer. When are PH levels are high nothing can survive. Including many chemicals we are subjected to everyday. Your thinking "Why don't scientists know about this?" There is no money in us being healthy. What you put into your body, is your outcome. Everything is fungus until proven otherwise. Do a juice fast, your body is getting in lots of the nutrition you need.

  • I am sorry for the loss of your mother and her struggle with cancer. My best friend's father was diagnosed and only a few months later, had a stroke rendering him completely unable to use his body. We were with him once and even though he could not speak and that I did not even recognize him despite knowing him so long...we told him that we loved him and he squeezed my hand!

The night before he died, he was struggling hard with every breath. He died in the morning. My heart goes out to you.

  • @NordicMother Thanks.... =)

What a tragic story, BTW - but he squeezed your hand.... that must've given you some hope. OH I know my heart would be leaping at that!! It did just reading about it....

  • @KatatMKP : I was so happy he understood us when we told him how much we loved him. The squeezing my hand must have been difficult for him because everyone thought he was paralyzed and could not move. It meant a lot to us and I think to him too to know that we were there and that we loved him. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. HUGS...

  • ive been through this with my wife lost at 43,now im losing my niece and god daughter at 30 yrs old.not lung cancer but breast cancer thats spread, she has two very young daughters,is there a god,if so why let her let many other kids suffer, without mothers ,.,my niece like my wife wouldnt hurt a fly,i know history shows bad light on what we are supposed to believe, but why oh why hurt the innocent,

  • @LOUKELL I'm not sure why either. My mom was one of those that had to learn a lot of lessons throughout life - even she said she did (materialism (burned down trailer), love (3 marriages), life style (step dad smoking pot when I was being fought over in custody battles - it hinged on HIS drug use - not HERS).... she learned, grew & matured -- dramatically... yet died at 53. I think maybe God uses people as examples sometimes... unfortunately

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. God bless.

  • In the Orient, whereat cigarette-smoking is @ a higher per capita rate; whereat people begin smoking @ a younger age; whereat the cigarettes are unfiltered; whereat the people eat bamboo, brown rice, beet tops and other hydrocyanic-acid-rich foods in abundance cancer occurring in the lungs, in the respiratory system and anywhere else is rare. The good smokers there succumb to the smoking-related/smoking-aggravated ailments of emphysema & asthma.

  • There are 3 types of lung cancer Epithelial, adenocarcinoma and small cell lung cancer so it is important to ask your doctor which type you have.

  • @padude64 My mom's was small cell... dunno if I said that in the vid.

  • My mom died from smoking cigarettes at age 51 from pancreatic cancer. It really saddens me that kids start smoking at the rate of 1,000 per day. I ask myself what it is going to take to stop smoking and I've come to this conclusion. When kids don't want to smoke anymore this epidemic will end

  • you cant stop people from killing themselves and you cant fix stupid. People will always do stupid shit like this.

  • i went through the same exact thing with my mom. same diagnosis, same EXACT progression (down to where it spread). she was diagnosed in feb. 2009 and died april 2010. my mom didn't go into a hospice though .. she died at home, with me. it's an awful thing to watch. i'm sorry for your loss. <3

  • @kelaltieri thank you, but I am glad to hear she got to die at home.... wish My mom could have, too.... :hugs:

  • @KatatMKP i'm glad that she was at home, in her element. i think that helped her go peacefully. regardless, it's a hard thing to watch.

  • @kelaltieri It's very hard to watch that sort of thing, yes. Every now & then at my work I have to see it over again, too. It never gets easy.

  • I don't mean to scare you, but if your mom AND grandma had cancer you should tell your doctor if you get any symptoms because if it's your moms mom it can be Genetic. I'm only 15 and I'm never going to touch a cigarette. I can't imagine how cancer affects you because I haven't experienced a family member lost to it. My dog died of cancer (which sounds stupid but its true!) Very sorry for you and your family.

  • @poopsyproductions It's my dad's mom who has it. They both smoked like chimneys from an early age. Thanks.... and good job - I never have and never will smoke.

  • It's very hard to watch a person with cancer.

My grandmother has lung cancer, and she's not doing very well. I just came back from seeing her at the hospital. It was so heartwrenching to her her struggling to breathe, I cried on the car ride home.

  • @KibahinaxSasuino (hugs) to you in your struggle. Just learned now my grandma has lung cancer too. Have yet to see her. God Bless you and your family & grandma through all this.

  • @KatatMKP Thank you. Bless you and your family, also.

  • my mother is also ailing from poor health....my family is fighting hard....pray for my family.....

  • my condolences go out to your family and yourself...I hope your mom R.I.P....at least she go her dying wish.lets be happy for at least that:(

  • i just watched your other video, both parents? that is so sad, tell them to stay strong and make the most of the time you have. all i can say is sorry agian

  • My dad is staying strong. He and I have one night a week together (when weather permits lol), and I call every day.

    (Mom = RiP in 2003)

    Thanks. & Thanks for watching.

  • is there a cure for lung cancer

  • there's treatments, but they are not guaranteed to CURE. some people go into "remission", which sometimes can be permanent, but since my mom's was *small cell* it spread and came back, etc. - Small Cell works like that, by spreading and coming back.

Treatments = chemo and/or radiation for the most part. the rest is to stay comfortable with the aches/pains (if any)

  • i am so sorry. my grandfather has multiple myloma, the caner of the blood and bones. he is in remission. amazing story. i am so sorry. may your mother rest and peace. I know she shall love you forever.

  • thanks

sorry to hear of your grandpa. hope he stays in remission.

  • Thanks for sharing. My mom was diagnosed last Feb. with small cell lung cancer. She is hanging in there, but the Chemo is taking its toll. It is a terrible ordeal to go through.

  • :( sorry to hear about your mom. the chemo was the hardest treatment for my mom as well. i know how you feel sitting watching her go through all of that...

    xoxo

  • Thank you so much for sharing your story. My mom is fighting Small Cell Lung Cancer and she is 53 and was just diagnosed last month. It was pretty advanced when she was diagnosed.

  • Thank you for sharing your story. It reminded me so much of my story with my grandmother.

  • I am so sorry for your loss. :^(

  • god bless you. xxx

  • Thank You for sharing your story about your mom ..I am so sad for you .. you were a very loving daughter .......

  • you're welcome & thank you... :)

  • A moving clip, my thoughts are with you.

I'm dreading the day when my Mum dies, as basically I have no family other than her. My father whilst not dead, ran off with his lover, with all Mums insurance money (car accident)we later found out that Dad's lover was a guy, Mums is know wheelchair bound with a broken back and now heart (emotionally). She also suffers the embarrassment of being dumped for a Man. What I learn from this, bad things sometimes happen to good people.

  • definitely can understand the "Bad things happen to good people" lesson in life. i've pretty much always known that.

kinda like the good ones die young while the assholes live forever. yeah. it's wonderful how life rolls, ya know?

sorry to hear about all of that happening to your mom. that really sucks she got dealt to many bad cards. she at least has you... and you have her. cherish her & every moment you have together! :) :hugs:

  • My story about my mom is so similar, it's scary. I feel your pain, I live it everyday. Thanks for sharing your story and keeping your mom alive by helping people.

    God Bless!

  • :hugs: You're welcome - and I will!! :)

  • I first watched this video 2 months ago, and after being a pack a day smoker for 10 years it gave me the inspiration and strength to quit forever, im only 25 and I hope I haven't done too much damage to my body. But I guess your video has probably saved my life, because after seeing how terrible cancer is, I can never smoke again. Thank you and im really sorry for your loss.

  • that is the best news i could hear in a long time. i'm very glad it made in impact on your life/health.. I also hope it hasn't done too much damage to you in such a short amount of time, but it's good you quit sooner than later - sometimes i think my mom quitting when i was 16 or so wouldn't have helped her by the time i was 19 (when she was diagnosed). so - other people young like you/me have a greater chance though, so you just may be very lucky

    Thank *you*! (& you're welcome)
