I thought everyone already knew this, If you want to play classics like Mario or Zelda, you buy a Nintendo system. If you want to play any other sort of the more "Hardcore" games like FPS, you get a PC.
@janfeyen9 well brawls great graphics were in the cut-scenes and all the games here are based on the gameplay graphics (only cut-scene for the games with equal graphics e.g goldeneye. Also I totally thin its out of order in my opinion 10,6,5,4,3 and 2 had all great graphics, in fact most of the other games like sonic colours and Dead Space extraction (grrr I hate rail shooters) have to rely on their main feature, graphics, or else nobody buys the game after they see the trailer.

Excellent choice with dead space being number 1. But it's too bad wii users cant play dead space 1 and 2. Don't get me wrong HD games like CHILD OF EDEN stop me in my tracks. So I wanna see surreal landscapes, big monsters, long distance exploration.
@stufaman i see what you mean, for me when I see Skyrim and its massive landscapes all in amazing detail due to highly polished textures, I get a massive smile, also rayman origins on the hd consoles with its crisp and vibrant colours looked amazing
@extremeloco23 I prefer the imagination on Xenoblade's landscapes to Skyrim's. Rayman Origins HD looks virtually the same as the Wii version to me, Albeit the HDs do look more crisp.
But PS2 Shadow of the Colossus still beats 'em all for me.

@extremeloco23 I see artwork in games like paintings that move essentially. Take John Constable's paintings. They're not HD and they don't move (because they were made hundreds of years ago). Sadly you can't quite make out some people's faces in in some of them. But the painting still looks bloody good.
I can look at gameboy games now and enjoy the effort put into some of it's games visuals. Many mod gamers simply sneer at the machine for not being a HD console.

@sausagenmuff what qualifies as good graphics? Sharpness is inevitable as well as not what qualifies for good graphics. Textures count but to an extent, it must follow the rules of the art style (ie photo realism must have photo realistic textures). Photo realism is a graphical style just like cell shading. Polygon count is common with any game but that only shows the complexity of the model. SO I just wanted to know what qualifies as good graphics. Or is it not your preference?
@TrickstarEX yes you got most of it there, then the obvious, does everthing match , and look pleaseing and appropriate, and do they look like effort was put into them. for instance out of the world for snes was hailed as amazing graphics, but had no textures period! anyway skyward is not bad, but it ain't winning any top tens thats for sure.

But from what I played the graphics looked pleasing to my eyes, the environments felt very "unexplored", the only structured elements were temples which appeared aged so by that means it was thought out. The best example of its presentation was in the desert area. I understand you aren't a fan but you stated that the graphics were bad as if it was fact. Others can argue the contrary even in this generations standards.

@moppenboek Not true. A game is the most complex media of them all (more than a book or a movie). So must be done balacing its 5 parts: gameplay, graphics, sound/music, story and techs (the engine). Some of us are inclied to forgive bad graphics, others music or story, but nonetheless is always a shame if you don't put efforts in one of those parts. We should realise if they didn't developed any of these parts because of money, tech limits, time or inability, and judge the whole just then.

@ragekage209 not exactly. they development choices made in it lead to 2 different development types. basically in addtion to wii controlls they changed the map around so either way you slice the gamecube version is still considered different to the Wii version

But just a simple concept of Xenoblade's worlds on two giant biped bodies is something I've never seen before.
I don't care about HD, don't get me wrong it looks great. But a HD tree on say COD 360/PS3 bores me compared to a surreal, glowing tree on a PS2 game.

@sausagenmuff what qualifies as good graphics? Sharpness is inevitable as well as not what qualifies for good graphics. Textures count but to an extent, it must follow the rules of the art style (ie photo realism must have photo realistic textures). Photo realism is a graphical style just like cell shading. Polygon count is common with any game but that only shows the complexity of the model. SO I just wanted to know what qualifies as good graphics. Or is it not your preference?

@TrickstarEX yes you got most of it there, then the obvious, does everthing match , and look pleaseing and appropriate, and do they look like effort was put into them. for instance out of the world for snes was hailed as amazing graphics, but had no textures period! anyway skyward is not bad, but it ain't winning any top tens thats for sure.

@sausagenmuff I hope I don't come off as if I'm arguing. But from what I played the graphics looked pleasing to my eyes, the environments felt very "unexplored", the only structured elements were temples which appeared aged so by that means it was thought out. The best example of its presentation was in the desert area. I understand you aren't a fan but you stated that the graphics were bad as if it was fact. Others can argue the contrary even in this generations standards.

@moppenboek Not true. A game is the most complex media of them all (more than a book or a movie). So must be done balacing its 5 parts: gameplay, graphics, sound/music, story and techs (the engine). Some of us are inclied to forgive bad graphics, others music or story, but nonetheless is always a shame if you don't put efforts in one of those parts. We should realise if they didn't developed any of these parts because of money, tech limits, time or inability, and judge the whole just then.

@fbsarts Wow, it was just a joke for all the people who only care about graphics and therefore often like ps3 or xbox better! Don’t understand me wrong, graphics are very important, but if the gameplay sucks, doesn’t matter how great the graphics are, the game still wouldn’t be so much fun anymore. Thad doesn’t mean thad all games don’t have to look nice anymore, but the proof of the pudding is still in the eating!^^

@ragekage209 not exactly. they development choices made in it lead to 2 different development types. basically in addtion to wii controlls they changed the map around so either way you slice the gamecube version is still considered different to the Wii version
