I know it's unexpected, but the people from YOUTUBE have something to say:
This is a sweet track, I admit never playing the game myself back then, but after watching an LP this song really grew on me.
Shame how this game is relatively unknown, at least in Europe. Poor marketing probably ruined the game, because itself was just right: A nice simulation part, and some pretty cool acts and bosses.
@JK47Tubing Do you believe me that my 2nd song on winamp by number of plays has 48 plays and 1st is ActRaiser - Sacrifices with 1101... o.O And when I now add this one, thats it... :D
Btw this is my favorite game and Sacrifices and after it this melody are my two best of all the music in the world... :D
YES!!! I FOUND IT!!! This is one of the most memorable music pieces of my childhood. Now, All I can think about is playing this this absolutely EPIC game!
I have a bad habit of whistling along to tunes I listen to. Having not heard this track for a decade I'm having no problem whistling along to this as though I were playing it still.
@diamondlancer It's called "melomania". I'm a melomaniac. I'm whistling all day. Insomuch I've got serious difficulties paying attention and concentrating at tasks... It is a serious condition, trust me.
@tantoedge Me too, but there's always the dilemma whether to whistle along to the bass or the tenor voice at 0:19. Usually I pick the bass, though. : )
Ah, the good old days. Nothing was better than being a young adult playing these games in an air-conditioned home in those hot summer days, listening to Yuzo's best soundtrack. So simple and comfy life was back then.
I was about 8 when I first played this game... I loved it and I was hooked instantly! All this and not knowing english..... *games back in those times you could not choose other languages*
@SGTSAS Sometimes I feel like 8 and 16 bit video games created an entire global generation of bilingual English speakers (sin embargo, con las frases como "The truck have started to move" y "Somebody set up us the bomb", todavia no estoy completamente seguro que si fue el ingles que los juegos estaban ensenando pero me voy de tema)
Even though you could play that game in sheer action mode without the RPG segments, that game was so intense that the RPG segments actually provided a nice break in between the fierce adventuring. XD

Definite influence from Bach's Double Violin Concerto - watch?v=-CwICXwLBmo
Especially at 2:02 in the vid. Came across Bach's song not too long ago and immediately though of this Actraiser theme.

@snizshizzle heh, l always thought "birth of the people" sounded like a JS Bach piece, and now l know :-)
1shoryuken 6 months ago
@snizshizzle Actually, Birth of the People uses a contrapuntal style that is very similar to the style used by Bach.

今現在でもたまに、口ずさんでいます。
昔CD探しに行って、秋葉原の店員さんに『古代祐三』という作曲者だと聞いた事を思い出しました♪
