  • Congratulation on building such a wonderful loco.

  • What an engine! Did I see a blowdown valve operating when the engine was over the pit?

Incidentally, the FR got steam in the 1860's, not the 1830's. As I would n't have a clue where to start on this project, I think I ought to keep quiet!

  • what is the music

  • Im going to build a double fairlie in seven and a quater gauge and im going to do it red. it will take me about six years but i will be documenting it on youtube as i build it

  • @sirgresley6007 please keep us posted. good luck.

  • That is one beautiful engine!

  • just fantastic, the engine, and a nice garden railway

  • Yes, he will keep it until he's too old to fire it and then who knows!!! We spent a very enjoyable day with Mark during the filming.

  • Soooo proud of my Dad! By the way, the Fairlie weighs 5.5 hundred weight and due to piston numbers and diameter does have the equivalent power of a full size traction engine....driver beware that's all I will say!

  • Has your Dad still got this masterpiece?

  • Very wonderful masterpiece of engineering. I couldn't believe my ears when he said that it was as powerful as a full size traction engine! miniture maybe but not full size. faved and 5 starred

  • what gauge is it because i have seen a 5 inch gauge FR Prince

  • 5 inch

  • A marvellous story, and a joy to watch, loved the bit about Richard's Wife calling him via the Radio...hope not too many wives watch this! 5* Bob
