There's always a "but". But... she should sing without that studio echo effect. It's easy to notice the echo effect, especially at the end. With the echo effect it's as if I'm singing in the bathroom. Everyone sounds better when singing in the bathroom, in the church etc.

How good of a singer you are it depends a great deal on the room you're in. It's about acoustics.

The real reason Lara was promoted enough was because of her singing style. Usually they pick a song and tweek it to suit their purposes. That song for her was I Will Love Again. She once said it was a mistake. Anyway if they don't promote your music on the radio, then most of the general populas will never hear it. But the real big reason was she didn't have a band, Oh No, she had an Orchestra. You can't tour or make big money with that according to music mogules. We have YouTube to thank now.

@rakloos Just some precisions, her mother is italian, her father is Belgian. She's born in Belgium in the town of Etterbeek and lived in Canada for some years so she have the dual nationality (canadian et belgian). Lara Fabian is one of the greatest singers in france and in my own opinion the greatest Voice and performer. She's always living her songs. She's fabulous !
