  • How is the Intonation?

  • What amplifier are you using?

  • Hi mate- realize your video was awhile back but curious if you remembe what kind of strings you were using here. Thanks!

  • Probably D'Addario

  • Hey bro, is there any way to get a see-thru wine red finnish? Cuz I might buy the kit and well... I would love it in wine red and natural binding...

  • @Motopsycho96 Yes, Have a look into stains. The key is to read before you take action and spoil anything. You get many different stains (colours), And then you'd finish it with a few layers of lacquer and then buff it. I own a DBZ Bolero in Trans wine :)

  • @xTonyyy Hmmm k, I hope the local luthier can do it for me xD I'm not for this kind of work :P I don't have the craftsmanship or the patience. anyways thanks dude.

  • when you were playing clean, you played so many beautiful chords :D i have no idea what they are :E

  • @himfrom1994 yes. anything added on to this guitar or any of the "saga guitar kits" you would have to solder them in.

  • I got one of these and it's nice but i got this terrible humming sound from it that won't go away... any suggestions?

  • @1pixle if you haven't resolved this yet, I suggest soldering the electronics instead of clicking them together. That's probably what's causing it.

  • shake it :P

  • Did you add a finish like a clear coat or anything or did you just pull it out of the box and make it?

  • @DrGuitar72 - Initially, just put it together. Then replaced the tuners and pickups. Then took it apart and painted it white, then put it back together again :-) Go to Flickr and search for my username, "coldnebraskablue", you'll see all the photos from the paint job.

  • Wow that clean sound convinced me to buy this PUs :) Thanks you rock!

  • Wheres your truss rod cover??

  • @himfrom1994 - Yes!

  • not bad, great item to mix, match, strip and rebuild...

  • r u british

  • @SuperFenderfan - Yes!

  • Dude!!! What did you play right there at 2:28 That was awesome...the bend and then the shred...Gotta learn, Do you have tabs or anything, What scale?

  • how is the sustain on this guitar?

  • how's the action on it?

  • @alanr1995 - Reasonable. After a bit of tinkering. I'm no expert at that sort of thing. Filed the nut slots down a bit, they were quite high.

  • ive read the comments on what you did with the hard ware but i was wondering how you yourself would change the inlays on the pickups?

  • Honestly , no idea sorry!

  • @himfrom1994 Read the description -,-

  • lol nice guitar shake vibrato technique.

  • My secret weapon !

  • You should play the clean part with softer pick ! But niCe guitar nonetheless.

  • this sounds very nice indeed. might be the amp helping a bit.....

definately sounds good enough for live and studio

goodnight hockley, the last train has already left!

  • i bought a saga lp copy 20+ yrs ago....it was a really nice guitar and a very good copy...even the headstock was exactly like the real thing....kicking my arse i sold it....i can't seem to find another like it

  • nice guitar i am thinking about doing a goldtop

  • and are those the stock tuners that come with th saga lp kit?

  • No - upgraded them as well as the pickups.

  • can u give me the tabs for wat u wer playin at 2:43

  • can it have a bigsby on it

  • @freaqydeaky ofcourse, you can do that on every les paul :)

  • Maybe - probbaly not one of the larger ones though.

  • @coldnebraskablue Dude!!! What did you play right there at 2:28 That was awesome...the bend and then the shred...Gotta learn, Do you have tabs or anything, What scale?

  • @GuitarzMyThing - Just making it up as I went along. No plan. Something "rawk" in A-major.

  • @freaqydeaky yes it can mine has one

  • im thinkin of dis 4 mah 1st build easy to do or hard

  • hahah your a cool guy

  • Heres how it sounds a bit fogged up;-}

  • where did you purchase the kit as i really would like to buy one.

    Thanks

  • @SuperSixOne93 the cheapest place to get one is ebay, i purchased one and put a 498t pickup in the bridge and it sounds awesome, I really like the feel of the neck, it is round but it feels good in your hands

  • why dint you carv the headstock?

    im thinking bout buying it

    i got a saga ht-10 right now

  • did you modified the hardware of the guitar?

  • yes - new pickups and tuners.

  • Can i know the costs of it :P? Because im thinking about buying a Saga pack, but i dont trust the standard pick ups

  • The pickups came as a set, I got them from Thomann in Germany, approx £90. The tuners were around the £40 mark. Hope that helps...

  • Thanks man! Appreciate it!

  • what are you using for a camera? and is that was you use to record the sound with as well?

  • Panasonic DV camera on a tripod, both sound and vision.

  • awesome thanks. and btw, vox amps...ftw dude. i love my valvetronix.

  • Me 2!!!

  • how much did the kit cost and where did you get it

  • Around $200, music shop in Cortez Florida.

  • Im considering building this for the first guitar I 'make' I have two other guitar, both strats, one is an upgradewith ducans , single coil. I was considering buying this kit with Seymour Duncan Dimebucker Guitar pickup SH-13 sh13. and maybe replace the jack - do I need to replace the tuner and if so is it all worth it?

  • @ElizabethTucker901 i had to replace the jack on mine the stock one was screwed up and the tuners work but they definately feel cheaper than grovers

  • hows the playability of this guitar? is it like an epiphone/gibson, or is does it feel like a cheap copy?

  • At the end of the day, its a cheap copy, but by spending a bit of time and effort on it I think I've made it very playable. Upgrading a few bits here and there helped (tuners for example).

  • if he has replyed can ou to me the awnser please as i would like to buy on

  • @JayYounaruzusun the neck feels similar to a newer les paul studio neck

  • how did you do that gibson logo on the headstock?

  • Found it on eBay some time ago I believe - if you hunt around there are a few people selling them...

  • What paint did you use it looks great? Does the paint come with the kit? Does it tell you how to paint it?

  • It was pretty cheap "hobby" paint I guess, the sort you find in DIY shops. Car paint has also been used by other people. No paint with the kit, and no painting instructions, but there are plenty of guitar painting sites on the web. Google is your friend.

  • Plasti-kote

  • SO after 6 years I'm finally gonna replace my pickups like I intended to O_o

  • 1:55 very, VERY beautiful!!!

  • On the clean it feels like an acoustic.

  • does it bring instruction manual xD ..... im really thinking on getting one but i dont understand of gutiar ... iv only been playing for a year and a bit .....

  • Yep, you get instructions. Pretty simple to put together, electrics are all push-pull connections.

  • That's pretty sick. I made one too only I ended up using a seymour duncan invader bridge pickup and a seymour duncan alnico II pro neck pickup. Have you considered replacing the inlays? I found very nice trapezoid ones on ebay I installed on my custom built one. That guitar sounds very nice. MInd telling me why you chose those two pickups? They sound amazing.

  • They seemed like a good choice, "Seymours favourites" or something. Also, I got them for a good price and wanted to see if I could make the switch myself as an extra challenge.

  • Very good job. I must say they sound superb.

  • could you do a post of little wing (hendrix or vaughn i don't care) with both pickups?

  • I wouldn't want to inflict that on the world!

  • Good post. Enjoyed it. Thinking of the Thinline Tele myself but encouraging to hear what people are saying about these kits. Cheers.

  • when you posting a vid of it complete with paintjob?

  • no vid, but if you go to Flickr and search for my username "coldnebraskablue" you'll find all the pictures of the paint job.

  • do you think these would sound good crunched and coil tapped?

  • Coil tapped, I don't know - the pickups are capable of that but I've not tried it. Crunched, not sure what that means, sorry!

  • very nice! did you put any paint on it?

  • yep - now all-white. If you go to Flickr and search for my username "coldnebraskablue" you'll find all the pictures of the paint job.

  • Yeah, they would fit in anything, that has dual humbucker set up.

  • That sounds a lot like the EMG HZ H4/H4a set.

  • Wow, great demo! I'm sold! I do have one question though...

Does the guitar kit come with pickup covers or no?

  • The humbuckers in the kit have covers, so they look different to the Seymour Duncans.

  • New to guitar here, uh what pick up do you use for like soloing and leads (neck or bridge)?

  • Well, you can use either really - the bridge pickup is the one you'd typically go for for something rawkus, but the neck pickup has nice tones to it, and can be used for a more jazzy, bassy sound.

  • how are the pickups that come with the guitar kit??? lol

and i found the pick ups u got in silver for 140 as a pair nice price and nice sound :D

  • The pickups in the box are pretty good tbh - I just wanted to challenge myself a bit and say "can I fit a pair of aftermarkets to this guitar?" - and i worked out OK i think.

  • when you put them in, did you have to drill or make adjustments?

  • Nope, they just slot right in.

  • "Thank you, England! Good night!" LOL Great vid, very educational--it helped me a lot! I think I'm going to buy the JB pickup for my Strat...:D

  • Definitely a great pickup - seems to have loads of output. :-)

  • Nice one i think ive just decided tht im gunar replace mii stock pickups for these:D:D Cheers for the demo thing:p gd job!!!!

    Nd ur awesome on guitar!!

  • what kinds of pickups are u using

about how much did they cost u.s.

  • Seymour Duncan Hot Rodded Humbucker

they cost $130 at the guitar center (both)

  • is that the pair or each

  • pair.. I think thats pretty good price for such good humbuckers

  • Where did you get that guitar kit?

  • Music shop in Bradenton FL. But you can get them on the web pretty easy, just google around.

  • whats the neck scale length..is it full size?

  • From nut to end of the fingerboard is about 465mm.

  • k thanks and i have one more question is the neck set in or bolt on?

  • bolt-on.

  • how much did you pay for it?

id love to have one of those kits, they look like sooooo much fun to build. what kind of pickups would you suggest for someone who likes mostly clean sounds with a little metal sound every now and then?

  • Prices vary, this cost me around £100 (approx $200) but you can get them cheaper. Re the pickups - see how you get on with the kit ones, they are pretty good. The Seymour Duncan Hot Rodded Humbucker set I'm using in the video might be good for you too.

  • Sounds really nice, those kits seem pretty decent.

  • on the 3 way switch can u tell me which pickup is controlled by rythym and which by treble

  • It's a standard Les Paul configuration - "Rhythm" is the neck pickup only, "Treble" is the bridge pickup only. The middle position is both pickups together.

  • hey can you play heavy metal like thrash metal something like pantera with those pickups?

    only asking about pickups.

  • yeah you could - Seymour Duncan do higher output pickups I think, but the bridge pickup is nice and crunchy.

  • when i got my lc10 i have tons of problems with the neck? have any truss rod problems? and does it stay in tune. mine never does.

  • Never had truss rod problems that I could tell. Did have to work on the nut though - way too high.

  • oh yea definately. i decided not to mess with it and just got a new neck with inlays

  • cool did you paint it. are you going to paint it. nice guitar i have a tc 10 with emgs in it and sounds awsome

  • Painting it as we speak

  • nice job man! that things sounds killer

  • cheers Andy!

  • Yes.

  • oh i also noticed you dont alternate your picking....its all downwards...alternating will give you the most speed..nice review.

  • what kind of guitar is that?..

seems like a generic les paul?

  • It's a kit guitar, comes in pieces in a box, you put it together and off you go. I upgraded the pickups and tuners. Made by a company called Saga, model is LC-10.

    Thanks for the comments!
