FERGIEEEEEE he looks so so so good, his little jump! cuteness <3 i just want to hug him he's so adorable! nice song, im glad he's all good for you now. he looks even better than ever, and his rears are wow. xxxxxx
i don't THINK i've commented! is it bad i've never heard of this band before.. so many people seem to know it haha!
I LOVE FERGIE <3 he is legit an amazing little guy!! he is such a cracker and he's come back SO strong <3 his rears on command have gotten so good aswell! you should be mighty proud xxxxxxxxxxxx
Yah, I really like grids but hate setting them up, even using a measuring tape I can't get the right striding for him. We've always been taught 2 take off/landing and then 3 decent human strides per horse stride. But horse stride does not equate to one Dougal stride, haha. Yes, Dougal is very good at taking long ones...haha. Thanks though, I think I'll try and do some grids sometime soon, might sort out the ole position a bit! But it's a right faff when you're alone. Ta! xx
Yaaaaaay Fergus! He's looking super, just as good as he was when you left him whcih is amazing considering how much time he had off, poor thing. He really looks fabulous! Very jealous of your jumps out in the field, trying to steer a Highland round a course of jumps in a school is nat fun, haha. Is he shod btw? xx
@Smarby he's actually jumping better than before his break, god knows how! Haha the jumping field is fab, but I wish I had the school as well - flatwork on the field is impossible between jumps and all that! Can't have it all I guess :P Nope he's unshod - he doesn't need shoes at the moment, he'll get them if he does, but it isn't a problem right now =) xxx
@philburgess535 Yeah, looks like he isn't getting in quite as deep as he used to? He really does look brilliant. Ah, thats nice to hear, most of them have hooves as hard as nails! Just watched back those little grid type things you set up, I really struggle trying to get the striding right for Dougal, I know they are 2 completely different horses but how many of your strides fits into one of his, roughly? xx
@Smarby he's starting to take a long one when he needs to and to jump more round than vertical - still a lot of work to do, but he's getting there... Thanks :) Yes, though my mate at work had one whose feet were apparently awful - we should count ourselves lucky! Ahhh gridwork... Nightmare. I use two for take off / landing and five per stride, but quite short strides (of mine, not his!), but tbh i never get it right. Before I was changing the grids having ridden them as small x poles...
@Smarby but now he's learning to adapt to it being slightly off by collecting or taking a long one, so I don't bother now. It's much easier if you have a helper to move them for you though if you're way off... I hate setting up grids but they really do help! xxx
late comment but its great to see him back in business!! you must be pleased :) xxx
