Just because she sings with the style she does, why does she have to be classified as singing like a black person or "the blackest white woman in the world" She is a soul singer. That isn't a genre exclusive to a certain race. Its true alot of the trailblazers in this genre were african american but she is also from England, and that has nothing to do with african-american culture. Just sayin give the girl more respect and don't shrink the style of music she sings in, to a single race.

That's why England particularly has such a rich soul music history. @bilejones No, Teena Marie was, Joss sings with much soul but she didn't hang out with many blacks like Teena did, she has mixed child, almost everyone she dealt with was black although she was white, she even sounded I guess what you would call black not to start something but you know what I mean, some people tend to sound a certain way, I don't sound the way most people would expect me to sound but it works for me lol
