  • Best drummer since Moon

  • Sunday, day before Halloween in New Orleans:) CAN'T WAIT!!!

  • anyone know how to get a keyboard to sound like that?

  • PATRICK KEELER FOR THE WIN

  • wow, hadn't seen that in a while... but yeah it's still amazing

  • sounds like kraut-rock ... :D

  • love the taste of The Bane Rendition in the beginning

  • down upon your hands and knees, god jack white is soooooooooooo sexy.

  • "On November 3, 2006, the Raconteurs performed the song "Store Bought Bones" and the title track, "Broken Boy Soldier" on Later with Jools Holland. According to Planet Sound (who had reporters in attendance), during "Store Bought Bones" White's guitar malfunctioned and they had to re-play the song. This eventually happened four times, with the band breaking up in laughter by the fourth take. The TV airing used edited pieces from all four performances and cut out any laughter." Still best version

  • jacks face looks so smooth :P

  • that sound at 1:34 seems so full and tight that you think you can touch it while coming out of the speakers.

  • the studio version should have sounded exactly like this

  • I love the atmoshere they create out of their music ... haven't heard such in a long time ...

  • This version is so good, it's based on their b-side of Steady As She Goes, The Bane Rendition

  • F*#k a click track!

  • Fuck Patrick keeler is fuckin AWSOME LOVE HIM!

  • never seen jack white live coz think if i did id realize there wouldnt be anything else living for :/

  • @kelcarruthers123 but than you havent live yet!

  • Thumps up For Dean on the E-Piano!

  • Better than original

  • patrick keeler one fucking kick ass drummer

  • its like elvis and the strokes fucked and had a baby and it was the Raconteurs!

  • every racontuers live performance i watch...the more dumbfounded i am by the awesome. thanks that's all.

  • @lukesaboy WTF u ignorant fucking pig! Go listen to your Hannah Montana and stop talking shit!

  • @lukesaboy you're right. it sounds 100 times better.

  • @lukesaboy What. The. FUCK?

  • You guys talk about The Raconteurs like theyre finished...

I saw an interview with Brendan Benson and he said theyre probably going to start up and make another album soon.

  • wow, this is the first time I've heard this song, and it sounds a lot like something the dead weather would do- the simplified drums, the kinda fuzzy vocals... love it!

  • I fucking hate that this band wasnt very popular and wasnt around for long its the white stripes plus more complex drumming two strings and a backup singer

  • the led zeppelin's children !!! I like it!!!

  • this is one of my favoritesssss

  • That intro got my heart racing, and just when i was about to have a heart attack they went into the song....phew.

  • EAR ORGASM

  • now.. THE WACKONTEURS!

  • Me encanta , y me recuerda a viejos temas de los 70, como si tiviera influencias de grupos psicodelicos como yes, y de rock'n rolleros como led zeppelin, de todas formas es un genio Jack White y más con este grupo.

  • Why don't they just make a Live Album?

  • Fantastic

  • This live version is miles above the studio recording. Amazing!!!!

  • Making and performing music like this is the reason one joins a band.

  • Going to see Brendan Benson on the 1st. S'gonna be awesome =3

  • fuuuuuuck thats good.

  • much better than the recorded version IMO

    intro is amazing

  • CD doesn't do them justice . . . Can not agree more!!!

  • im not feeling that echo.

  • I want Jack's hair.

  • Comment removed

  • lol jack and benson are stoned, any1 else notice

  • Man this version is just the best!!!

Can't listen to the official album version anymore

  • Oh, My, God. Yes.

  • i saw this when it came on and it totally blew me away

  • 0:54 when jack sings at this part, he gives me chills

  • 0:54 blew my mind.

  • Really didn't expect the ending either - it's so good!

  • Such a sick song.

  • The Dead Weather is really really bad compared to this band.

  • @kimowasabe

I wouldn't say really bad. I can't/don't really compare how good Jack White's bands are to each other. They all just have such different sounds while still having that same sort of root connection of the blues. The bands just have their good points and their bad points, and cover a wide variety of styles. Besides, they are all totally bad-ass live.

  • 0:52 wow thats a Flying V....

  • i like the dead weather....but whose with me when i say i hope The Raconteurs get back together

  • @imdan1182 WAUT?! they broke up?! When did this happen?! i thought they were bringing out an new ablum?

  • @slchotmail In an interview in February 2010 Brendan Benson stated that the future of The Raconteurs was ambiguous, stating "I think we're all just really focused on other things". He went on to add that "it will come around and we'll get together again and hang out and maybe make a record or maybe not". Jack White is with his other group The Dead Weather and they made 2 albums and Jack said that there more songs already made for another album for Dead Weather...

  • @slchotmail

They didn't break up per say. They're just taking a break. Just like what Jack always does. He and Meg took a break from The White Stripes and they might be getting together later this year depending on Jack and Meg of course, and that's what happened with The Raconteurs. Brendan is working on his own project right now.

  • @imdan1182 Honestly, I'd rather see a new white stripes album, I'm still enjoying Consoler's of the Lonely too much to want a new album.

  • @mysteryskater48 I'll listen to whatever Jack White is in

  • Jack White disappointed me, his vocals lacked.

  • One of my favorite bands ever, but i dont think the keyboard guy gets enough credit

  • @BBenDiMaiOO Definately

  • i try to look at them objectively... and i just get surprised everytime

  • cobain era solo un apostolo.

  • best version ever

  • awesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesome

  • keelerrrrrrr keeler is the man fucking he plays those drums like a beast i wish i could be able to play as half as good as him

  • my favorite live performance of any band, also Biblical Violence by Hella

  • 3:03 !!!!!!!!

  • all i see is patrick beeing a beast on drums HAHA!

  • @Timeconsumer9 EXACTLY

  • hes freaking awesome

  • hate to disagree with the masses but i think the recorded version is better than this, jack's slide in the verses wasn't the same and it kinda ruined it

  • My fucking heart stopped!

  • thats how you find talent. when microphones and tapes and studio effects and all the equipment a record company can buy you make you sound worse than what you can do with what you got

  • Jack White? O.o

  • @Hear7endusk Yes. xD

  • well this actually seems about right. they rushed a bit recording the cd, this live bit seems like there all a lot more comfortable with each other and the song.

  • holy shit, live is better...

  • one simply word on my mind: AWESOME

  • I LOVE THIS VERSION! :D

  • OMG !!!! 2:30

  • intro needs to be on album

    Fucking record companies...

  • this is ten times better than the studio version.

  • wow :O that was awesome

  • Jack White is a Rock God. That is all...

  • Am i the only one who thought that perfomance was somewhat out of the ordinary? The studio version really does'nt do them justice. I wish bands just recorded albums live. It's much better

  • 2:52-3:24

    best ending ever

  • i love this slowery intro that builds. amazingly smooth.

  • this is definatly my fav variation of jacks hair. also i think is better live than recorded, but thats because most music is.

ps why the hell r they talking about football on this page?

  • man jools is creepy when he pops in at 3:30

    amaaazing song

  • Jack White is so fucking hot!

  • Amen to that :O

  • the album version is so much better, its got hammond!

  • that opening was the same one from the bane redention

  • Yeah the opening and the whole song really suffers because he isnt there, good job Favre lover. But how bout them Vikes

  • Well, as a native Wisconsinite for all my life I must say I am not too happy with Favre's decision to go to the Vikings, albeit he is a grown man and can do what he wishes. And speaking honestly, right now with Kampman and Harris out for the season we're really in deep shit now as far as playoff contention goes.

And the only reason I haven't changed account names is because I have a ton of favorites of music I find.

  • Yeah Im a Bears fan so I cant talk about any sort of QB but after Favre left the Pack I started rooting for him because he was pushed out of Green Bay....Now he is a Vike I dont know what to think, but since my Bears suck I have been rooting for him again as much as I hated him before you have to respect someone that never gets hurt playing that position and he is gonna probably win MVP this year if he doesnt implode!

That is a good reason to keep that name also.

  • Ya as of now he is a shoe in for MVP

  • much better than the album version!

  • CD may not have...but you most certainly did with this-Many thanks for this exceptional vid----

  • Whos 5th guy playing keyboards?

  • i think it might be Dean Fertita who also plays keys and guitar in The Dead Weather, check that band out...Jacks on drums, LJ on bass and Allison Mosshart on vocals. Treat Me Like Your Mother, Hang You Up From the Heavens and I Cut Like A Buffalo all good. Do IT

  • i think thats Mark Watrous playing on here and he does on others but your right Dean also plays sometimes.

  • is Dean look close around 3:11 :D

  • OMG!!! this version is soo f*cking good!! i love how they started slow... an then! pum!

the raconteurs its one of the best bands i know i can't wait their third album

  • 1:11

when jack opens his eyes and looks around. god, his eyes are so intense and beautiful.

  • jack white is so cool!

  • Jack White is brilliant and seems he surrounds himself with like minded brilliance!

  • fukcin awesome

  • The haunting keyboard is in effect and boomin, baby!

  • Keeler doesn't get the credit he deserves.

  • i keephearign that Jack plays power chords weird, differnt finger pos or something? anyone got a comment?

  • he puts his pinky where your ring finger would usually be when playing a power chord

  • Ive always played them that way, my fingers are really small and it feels more natural. Well, unless I go up real high, then ill switch

  • If he does it may be because of the surgery he had from the car accident he was in a while back.

  • he claims he did it because his brothers wouldnt teach him how to do it right as a kid so he just made it up... His style has changed since his surgery though.

  • it's cause he was in a car accident and he can't straighten his finger properly. so he said

  • yeah he plays him w/ his pinky. i've heard it's because he broke his finger in a car crash, and because his brothers never taught him right.

  • From my own experiences and preferences, I'd say he's a Drop D man.

  • So much better than the CD version. And thats saying something

  • i prefer patrick with long hair

  • goosebumps

  • does anyone know whats up with patrick keelers (drummer) big and little bass drum?

  • Different tones i guess..

  • ...That was a gentlemanly duel... with glove slapping to boot

  • I try to model myself on jack white. he's an exceptionally talented musician, an eccentric and a gentleman aswell.

  • Apart from when he battered that feller from the Von Bondies?

  • yeah but the bloke deserved a good slap.

  • I love Jaaaaaaaaaaack White !!!! ♥ =)

  • much better than the album-version.

  • absolutely brilliant. i enjoyed this even better than the recorded version, and thats saying something.

5/5 bravo jack, jack, brendan, and patrick. also dean fertitia ;)

  • Far out, no other band could record a great song (ie Store Bought Bones) and then top it completely in a new way. Top song.

  • that was the bane rendition to start off with

  • Just when you thought there were no suprises left in music, Jack White puts together this genius musicians combo, twisting yet again something new for listeners. ROCK ON RACONTUERS!

  • Exactly!

  • such a sexy song

  • I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS SONG !!!!!!!

  • Nevermind my comment early from my other user. It said the video was gone from copyright. And I love this song.

    So, I was pissed off.

  • the raconteurs > everything

  • What the hell?

I hate Google and their faggot copyright laws!

  • i just came

  • I know, dear god, right in the beginning when Jack opens those pretty brown eyes, I was like, "no, no one should be that talented, that amazing, and that hot!" Hahahaha!

  • sounds like the bane rendition :) :) Love the raconteurs :)

  • wow thats better than cd version in a lot of ways

  • fuck yeah Patrick!

  • jools holland has amazing sound engineers. its my life dream to play coachella fest and this.

  • album doesn't do justice...BUT I MISSED THAT LIL SLIDE LICK AT THE END THAT IS SO COOL ON THE ALBUM!

  • agreed album doesn't do justice, they r one of the best bands live.. i mean there are many bands that are great live, and the racs are deff in the top 5

  • is ur life really that pathetic that u have to resort to making fun of people on a youtube comment?? wow.... ur life must really suck, sorry for u... u prolly were made fun of a lot and couldn't make fun of other people in real life cuz u were too afraid u'd get ur ass kicked, so u resort to making fun of people where u know they cant hurt u... ur just sad.... really just sad.... good luck in life ass hole!

  • You fucking legend. (:

  • Jack White frees our disillusioned minds with his music ... he is GOD!

  • Prefer the one on the cd

  • Jack lays it down

  • From what I read, they had re-play this song 4 times because Jack's guitar kept malfunctioning, after the 4th take, they band burst out laughing because of Jack's guitar and they just used edited versions of the previous takes.

  • Read same

  • great song,great jack !!!!!

  • much prefer this to the albulm version amazing live- come to england please raconteurs

  • this is great i love this version now that ive heard it :D

  • YEAH!!!

  • Jack Whitd is GOD!

  • Oh hail rock and bless them boys for reviving it (specially Jack, the man is pure talet).

  • Its because your DESPERATE!

    :D

  • HOT damn.

  • i don't know... i love both versions, Why?

    simple... are The Raconteurs.

  • i love how jack starts off all soft like then goes in to his screeetching!

  • this version is ten times better than on the Album.

  • i concur.

  • I concur again. This version is the chocolate candy fun times. God Bless The Raconteurs. Happy Holidays.

  • Umm damn. Correct sir.

  • its on their first album, but that music they play at the beginning(before "you can't buy what you can't find...) is The Bane Rendition, which was on a single
