"On November 3, 2006, the Raconteurs performed the song "Store Bought Bones" and the title track, "Broken Boy Soldier" on Later with Jools Holland. According to Planet Sound (who had reporters in attendance), during "Store Bought Bones" White's guitar malfunctioned and they had to re-play the song. This eventually happened four times, with the band breaking up in laughter by the fourth take. The TV airing used edited pieces from all four performances and cut out any laughter." Still best version
wow, this is the first time I've heard this song, and it sounds a lot like something the dead weather would do- the simplified drums, the kinda fuzzy vocals... love it!
I fucking hate that this band wasnt very popular and wasnt around for long its the white stripes plus more complex drumming two strings and a backup singer
Me encanta , y me recuerda a viejos temas de los 70, como si tiviera influencias de grupos psicodelicos como yes, y de rock'n rolleros como led zeppelin, de todas formas es un genio Jack White y más con este grupo.
I wouldn't say really bad. I can't/don't really compare how good Jack White's bands are to each other. They all just have such different sounds while still having that same sort of root connection of the blues. The bands just have their good points and their bad points, and cover a wide variety of styles. Besides, they are all totally bad-ass live.
@slchotmail In an interview in February 2010 Brendan Benson stated that the future of The Raconteurs was ambiguous, stating "I think we're all just really focused on other things". He went on to add that "it will come around and we'll get together again and hang out and maybe make a record or maybe not". Jack White is with his other group The Dead Weather and they made 2 albums and Jack said that there more songs already made for another album for Dead Weather...
They didn't break up per say. They're just taking a break. Just like what Jack always does. He and Meg took a break from The White Stripes and they might be getting together later this year depending on Jack and Meg of course, and that's what happened with The Raconteurs. Brendan is working on his own project right now.
hate to disagree with the masses but i think the recorded version is better than this, jack's slide in the verses wasn't the same and it kinda ruined it
thats how you find talent. when microphones and tapes and studio effects and all the equipment a record company can buy you make you sound worse than what you can do with what you got
well this actually seems about right. they rushed a bit recording the cd, this live bit seems like there all a lot more comfortable with each other and the song.
Am i the only one who thought that perfomance was somewhat out of the ordinary? The studio version really does'nt do them justice. I wish bands just recorded albums live. It's much better
Well, as a native Wisconsinite for all my life I must say I am not too happy with Favre's decision to go to the Vikings, albeit he is a grown man and can do what he wishes. And speaking honestly, right now with Kampman and Harris out for the season we're really in deep shit now as far as playoff contention goes.
And the only reason I haven't changed account names is because I have a ton of favorites of music I find.
Yeah Im a Bears fan so I cant talk about any sort of QB but after Favre left the Pack I started rooting for him because he was pushed out of Green Bay....Now he is a Vike I dont know what to think, but since my Bears suck I have been rooting for him again as much as I hated him before you have to respect someone that never gets hurt playing that position and he is gonna probably win MVP this year if he doesnt implode!
i think it might be Dean Fertita who also plays keys and guitar in The Dead Weather, check that band out...Jacks on drums, LJ on bass and Allison Mosshart on vocals. Treat Me Like Your Mother, Hang You Up From the Heavens and I Cut Like A Buffalo all good. Do IT
he claims he did it because his brothers wouldnt teach him how to do it right as a kid so he just made it up... His style has changed since his surgery though.
Just when you thought there were no suprises left in music, Jack White puts together this genius musicians combo, twisting yet again something new for listeners. ROCK ON RACONTUERS!
I know, dear god, right in the beginning when Jack opens those pretty brown eyes, I was like, "no, no one should be that talented, that amazing, and that hot!" Hahahaha!
