well they are the basically the same, on the 1008ha you do not get a removable battery, and there is a bunch of weird doors for the connections on the 1008ha, but basically the same (Battery hours, Up to 7 on the 1005ha and 3 to 4 on the 1008ha)
indeed u are correct. Unfortunately I go for portability but I find it difficult since portability should be accompaigned by long battery life. So this net book has contradicting features if u ask me. My opinion of course.
Very nice, but at that price point it's becoming more of a notebook rather than a netbook.
Netbook's key feature was the price. Here in San Francisco one can get ASUS eee netbooks for $250 to $300. So when the price gets up to $550 or more, that's notebook territory.
I am sure those port covers will have the 3 USB ports, RAM access, etc. No reason or logic that ASUS would downgrade a more expensive system.
ASUS is great, their netbooks are really notebooks in terms of features.
I have had hundreds of notebooks with all kinds of finishes.
My ASUS 900HA is the first PC with a glossy finish. I agree with you, it is a fingerprint magnet. I am always taking Windex to it.
A really nice, durable finish is the kind that's on the old IBM T series and the Lenovo Ideapad Y410 notebook. Those are more of a rubberized covering. Nice looking, durable, and no smudging.
My ASUS glossy top is like a glass coffee table, that I avoid. Looks great when clean, but never is.
According to [[FOX News]], just prior to the 9/11 attacks a large Israeli spy ring was discovered in the United States and was fully unraveled after 9/11. At least 200 suspected Israeli spies were arrested in regards to suspected involvement in the 9/11 attacks and were subsequently deported back to Israel.
It's still a prototype; the final design might be even better than what we see here.
Did anyone notice that at 1.09 the keyboard top seems to be a little bit detached from the bottom? It seems that too many people had been handling it that the screws came off.
But then again, it's still just a prototype.
I was thinking of getting the 1000HE for its 9 hour battery life, but this is coming out, so I'll hold out till April. Its either this or the MSI wind u120. I wonder whats the battery life?
Not really bending? @ 2:12 that's an ugly keyboard flex right there.

1005ha comes with 10.5 hours of battery. Load it with opensuse 11.1 and you're good to go.

The 1005 is also thicker and weighs more than the 1008 and has a lower battery life.
Only get the 1005 if you want the extra USB port & removable battery.
Stick with 1008 for portability & if you dont care about removable batteries.

1008ha is more portable, 1005ha is more chunky but has more battery life i believe.
bribabeX100 2 years ago
Your right, but you can buy a 6-cell with the 1008 i think ? then your sorted !!! unless asus built the battery in...................

Nevermind I rewatched the beginning and saw the 5 hour mark. It's sufficient to say the least, but mildly dissapointing.
