I bought this game on eBay. It's the Japanese version but it works on all PS3 because PS3 is not region protected. Aside from the confusing Japanese menu, the game is fun.

Initial d game are fun and easy to play but I think that they should create a non arcade version like kaido battle where it's not easy to drive and the computer opponent should drive like the anime and know how to yield too. And have the turnaround match battle too.  And allow the use of terrain like gutters and etc.

This game is brilliant. The control on the cars is amazing. It WILL play on an american PS3. The game really isn't too hard to figure out without much knowledge of the Japanese language too. So if you're looking for an awesome racing game don't shy away just because it's in another language. Seriously it's worth playing.

Japanese Version: Has online & manual is all in japanese.

Asian Version: Has no online & manual is both English and Japanese.

How can i know what version im buying. look at the bottom left corner of the front box it has a CERO A for Japanese Version. If it doesnt have it then its a Asian Version
