  • Take Warning!!!!

  • 6 people listen to indie rock

  • Saw these guys in Fresno! rad.

  • the fourth wave of ska is coming

along with the revival of rock

  • I was at this and several other of their shows, even when they were unit pride.

  • too bad op ivy didnt last too long

  • @TheIllegalKind i watched this today

  • everyone that says green day isnt punk anymore, its probably true. because they're green day, they dont live to please, like each and every one of us. green day brought me here. in their countless interviews, they still manage to acknowledge bands like operation ivy and sex pistols. therefore, i am happy.

  • @adogategreenday that's because green day prob wouldn't exist without them 2.

  • oh how i wish i was old enough to be around when they were still a band! so amazing. a favorite since ive been 13

  • the 5 people who dislike this song are douche bags

  • i love this god damn, Viva La Ska!

  • I saw them in Chicago in 1989 at Dreamerz great show.

  • FUCK YES!! LYRICAL GLORY!! FAST STRONG MUSIC....

on ones got a thing against you unless u got something to prove

  • Ahhh, the things I'd do to see just one Operation Ivy concert before I die. Man, why does all the good music seem so far in the past? My generation sucks. OPERATION IVY FOREVER!!

  • SKA PUNK FTW!

  • This band is just fucking amazeijhdgegh

  • My cousin was there!!

  • They sang "these boots are made for walking" at Berkeley square and Brought my gf Flur up to sing with em, she was a sexy lil Doc wearing skitch.

  • matt mothafuckin freeman...

  • anything tim armstrong touches is gold

  • wow...advertising on opiv hmmm. making money cause you can. hey there are many ways nowadays. punk? dont know.

  • hmm. business 101. you get to watch because someone has paid for the ad exposure.

  • How would I use Toyota Technology? I wouldn't. That's how. I didn't come here to watch no fucking Toyota advertisement. I came to watch some Op Ivy bitches but I guess you can't escape the plague these days which we refer to as advertising.

  • hah take warning because you guys wont shut up with the arguing i dont know about some of you but while you guys argue ill be atually injoying the music mwahahahahahah

  • I feel so retarded that in the mid nineties i used to seek out vintage operation ivy performances and eps on ebay and pay hundreds of dollars for them, only to find out something called youtube would have them all for free in 10 years. epic fail at least I still have all the original copies though i guess

  • This was 3 years after I was born, so they weren't exactly my generation but this band was a large chunk of the soundtrack to my teen years. Brilliant song writing, raw as fuck energetic sound, real anthems. Woulda been sick to see them live. Cheers for the video!

  • i watched this band a bunch of times at the cannery at gilmore street. in Berkley california . lot of fun. the fans are the best in the world. very classy folks to mosh with.

  • @MOHAWK1020-----TRUE BUT THEY DIDNT SELL OUT WHILE PLAYING FOR OPERATION FOR THE MONEY OR THE BIG VENUE SHOWS!!! THE PLAYED FOR THE LOVE OF THE MUSIC!!! RANCID JUST SOLD THE FUCK OUT!!!!

  • @deltbrk how can you say rancid sold out? They just got big. When you get big, and more people want to see you, and when more people want to see you, you have to go to big venues. its not their fault that the venues charge a ridiculous price. its still a lot better than most though. also with all the shit that these guys have gone through they deserve to be rewarded for doing something they love. wouldn't you want to be? I know I want to.

  • @FionMacCumhail ha yeah tim armstrong was a bum, him and jesse gotta do more shit

  • @FionMacCumhail Look at Rancid's old music from Rancid 1994 to Rancid 2000, and then look at Indestructible.

Look at me with a straight face and tell me they didn't sell out.

  • @GodKill123 by your logic, the clash sold out as well.

  • @GodKill123

    you are a moron.

bands have to evolve, i'm pretty sure writing and playing the same type of songs for 8 years would get old after a while.

rancid has been on the radio and mtv way before indestructible and they always had catchy songs.

so how exactly did they sell out? where they on a nike commercial or something?

    you must inform me

  • @joeyclassic You must not know Punk rock then.

Look at Indestructible Lyric and song structure wise. It's way too different, and sound more pop then Punk.If they wanted to go Pop-Punk they would be like The Queers or Screeching Weasel sound. But nah, they still wanted to sound hardcore, and to me, failed. And to me, they now a day fail live.Tim doesn't even fucking bother to play guitar anymore, play more covers of OV(not bad, but I wanted to see a Rancid show) And there's really nothing new

  • @GodKill123 Tim is getting old, dude, he has nothing to prove to you by writing anything hardcore. As if he ever wrote hardcore punk. You must not know punk rock then. Seriously, drop that line next time, nothing sounds good when you open your insignificant dipshit rant by being a fucking asshole. LOL

  • dont rancid own hellcat records? they can write whatever they want no ones pushing them to make money songs

  • @domesticwarfare-the most amazing band is screeching weasel.

  • It's unbelievable how much shame these guys heap on bands today. Get offline and back into the streets.

  • HOLY SHIT!!! ALL YOU SORRY FUCKS THAT DONT KNOW OPERATION IVY SUCK ASS!!!! THEY ARE THE GODS OF SKA PUNK, JUST LIKE BAD BRAINS!!!! FUCKEN GREEN FAG DAY--SUBLIME--RANCID--NOFX--ETC....WERE STRONGLY INFLUENCED BY OP IVY!!!! THEY EVEN COVER THEIR SONGS!!!! THIS IS TRUE MUSIC AT ITS PRIME!!!!!

  • @deltbrk Rancid has Matt and Tim of course they are going to be like Op Ivy

  • i wish i was born in the 80s so i coulda seen these guys live :(

  • for you little kiddies that have no clue. rancid is just a little poppy turd version of op ivy. if you werent even alive to be able to see op ivy you should shut your holes. rancid has a few good songs, but they are a machined version of ska punk. they were created to make money, not to engage the true vision of the movement. their music has no real message and it is all contrived drivvel.

  • I love operation ivy, I also really like rancid, id say I like rancid more, but operation ivy is really good too

  • I have no favorite Op Ivy song for my love of all there songs is equal.

  • One of my all-time favorite bands and one of my biggest influences.

    Take warning, my friends.

  • This song makes me want a grilled cheese sandwich.

  • @Listhp1337 you just made me want one haha

  • @Listhp1337 holy shit me too. wow

  • where the fuck were you at

  • I would cut off a finger to see these guys.

  • these mofos were too real to be playing in a era where fake bands reign supreme.

  • thanks god for BlankTV youtube will be boring without them

  • this is awsome

  • I was at that concert.

  • billie and tim ar brother's ?no,but i think tim do music cos he like that, and bilie do music, cos he prefer cash,;so tim a real punk and billie a clown.

  • @zeppo66666 tim doesnt even play guitar anymore he just stands there and looks cool

  • Op Ivy did NOT make Green Day. But they were Billie's biggest inspiration. Green Day, known at that time as "Sweet Children", was around and played shows with Op Ivy. It was the the day of Op Ivy's very last show that Sweet Children played their very first show as Green Day. Also check out "Pinhead Gunpowder" Billie's other band whom also played shows with Op Ivy

  • it kinda saddens me to see these live vidoes of operation ivy cuz i no i will never get to see them live myself :'(

  • TIM ARMSTRONG!!!! Hell yes!!

  • nothing to say! woooo just take warning

  • this is for theflyingpenguins

(no ones got a thing against you, unless you got something to prove)

    dont hate brother.

  • green day sucks a fat chode any ways who cares about those fags it operation beats them by alot

  • @theflyingpenguins psssh heck ya man

  • lol short fat dick 8D

  • fuck you

Green day rules but Op Ivy is way better.

  • Thats true.

  • @SubStylee80 LOL Op Ivy made green day.... frikkin moron

  • @beanseller

Ok...when did I say the opposite?

  • most amazing band in punk history.

  • yes.

  • @DomesticWarfare most amazing band in universe history , aliens dont got nothin on some good op ivy

  • @DomesticWarfare

most awsome band that mixed ska with punk ? :D and lyrics with Jesse wow he was young but, the lyrics he wrote

some of these pop bands should do that nowadays. Still love OP ivy

  • uh que banda genial (Y)

  • Yeah, they definitely shouldn't get opinions on an awesome song by an awesome band!

  • shut the fuck up asshole cocksuka

    u dont know opivy

  • I can TOTALLY see that Billy Joe Armstrong (Green Day) was a diehard groupie of these guys!!!! =p

  • Green Day's first show was opening for these guys on their last show.

  • well they both played at gilman together in the late 80s.

  • wel. yeah. they Green day plays op ivy att there shows. im not a fan of green day though.

  • ahhh.. classic song.i wish i could have seen them live back in the day

  • i got to meet jesse micheals last winter when he was playing with his new alternative project, classics of love. really nice guy

  • sweet!

  • take warning, TAKE WARNING, operation ivy. INSPIRATIONAL MUSIC!!!

  • why did ed and scott quit?

  • Whats up with the boots on your feet?

  • heroine

  • hes a monk now

  • heh. Classics of Love is Jesse Michaels new band. The whole monk think was like 10 years ago.

  • he was only a monk for like 6 months

  • he got sucked into a tuba

  • that's funny as hell

  • what i would pay to have been there...

  • it IS amazing.... you start a band with half of OpIV and what you get is....Rancid. couldnt think of a better name for that band and their music....

  • the year they broke up........... so sad...

  • what size of amp did tim use? a half stack? or just like 2x12 or something

  • stomping out any difference

  • massive

  • fuckin hell dude you this listen to the quality of tunes of that time - what a stale state of affairs music is in now

  • OpIvy; how I miss thee.

  • is this 924 gilman

  • as much as i like Rancid and think that they are quality- out come the wolves is one of my fave albums by anyone ever, operation ivy are fucking awesome!! in this one its op ivy ftw

  • My absolute favorite song by op ivy,

man what i would give to see them play...

  • Skateboarding , skateboarding, theres a few generations of it ,and were all part of them, nobbody hold nothing against you, but we all would like to improve.theres no set of standards, theres no book of rules, like "someone did that trick before",but when you stomp it down it makes no difrence,& when we fight its together(& a skate hurts more than a fist!)sk8bording,sk8boarding... not enuf, get bak up,get bak up,we never give up,I'll take another beatdown thats rite,SKATEBOARDING!SKATEBOARDING!

  • best comment ever.

  • in a pool, on the street, or an old half-pipe,

    Skateboarding !

    skateboarding!

  • fucking hilarious hahahaha

  • Ima favorite dat bitch!

  • dude fuck you! Rancid deserves all the credit they have gotten over the years... your just some fuckin' LOC Choking V peckerhead who just throws out Stza Crack qoutes where ever and whenever you feel nessecery... Stza was pissed because Tim didn't want junkie fuck ups like Stza and Ezra on hellcat. So, in turn, Stza Crack went around saying Rancid was everything "The Crack Boys" hate (i.e. homophobes, sexist, racist.) get a mind of your own son.

  • I dunno, I met Tim and Matt and Lars in '94 when they played Club Babyhead in Providence. Some of the most chill, down to earth dudes....Lars took time to talk to us for a long time before the show. ,,,, then again, alot can change over 14 years.

  • What makes Tim a homophobe? His lyrics certainly don't reflect your opinion.

  • where did you get that from?

  • Haha...no shit. What are you basing this on?

  • Ive met tim and lars and they are very down to earth nice guys we hung out abit before the show and the even gave me a rancid shirt a rancid patch a operation ivy shirt and their energy cd. SO yea their not dickheads

  • Fuck you!

  • Rancid are great but Operation Ivy are the greatest band of all time, it would be unfair to expect Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman to be able to start another band as grreat as Operation Ivy.

  • What happened to these guys

  • the band is over...i guess...

  • they broke up and lint and matt formed rancid not as good as operation ivy but still a great band

  • cant we all just get along. but op ivy FTW!!!!!!!!

  • nowadays tim just gave up playing the guitar...

i feel bad for lars... he has to hold the song going while tim doesnt do anything...

tim is a good songwriter, but he just doesnt put a lot of effort to it live (nowadays)

  • badass vid dude

  • music is constantly evolving accept it or live in the past.

  • i will second that one

  • op ivy beat rancid the one op ivy album is better than every rancid cd put together not my opinion FACT you dumbass motherfuckers

  • I love Rancid, but I would take back every single Rancid song to see Operation Ivy live once.

Rancid are a footnote in punk compared to Op Ivy, without Op Ivy there would be no Rancid.

    Dragonskankin knows what hes sayin

  • i agree with you!

  • It's ridiculus how good all these fuckers were and still are without them there would be a serious lack of good music. I wish shit was still like this no one has touched these guys in a long time

  • i don't know if OPERATION IVY is better than RANCID or RANCID is better than OPERATION IVY! I LIKE BOTH BANDS! WITHOUT THEM THERE WOULDNT BE A LACK OF GOOD MUSIC LIKE PARTHEERA SAID!

  • look at Im Armsrong when he was young FUCK yeah!!!

  • i bet the thing this guy recorded this with was huge. video cameras in the 80s were beastly.

    love this band.

  • yeah those cell phone cams they had in 1989? you are an idiot.

  • GOO TIM ARMSTRONG!!

  • Man I forgot how great this band is. Greatest punk band of all time????????

  • greatest ska-punk band

  • Yeah something like that...

  • Rancid will never be half the band Op Ivy was

  • did you just say that u fucking moron?

from ashes of Op Ivy springs Rancid dipshit.

  • hey, don't call me a fucking moron, you fucking douchebag, that wasn't me. that was my friend. and anyway, that's your opinion that op ivy is the better than rancid.

  • well i agree with actionsail's friend

  • if it was your friend, wouldnt it be your friend he offended and not you? so why get upset?

  • cuz he called me a fucking moron? lol and i didn't even really know my friend had posted that until i read his comment... so i was like "wtf??"

  • sure...

  • Op Ivy is better than Rancid.

  • @ZachTFLd duh

  • @ZachTFLd rancid is better but op ivy is cool

  • @bacon767 You can be serious. Op IV is WAY better than Rancid. Not saying that they're bad. They both good bands, but Op is WAY better. Besides, the singer in Rancid, Lars, looks like a fag. That's my opinion though. :P

  • @NationalEmergency21 why do u think he looks like a "fag"?

  • @ZachTFLd

They are different, don't try affix the same label to them both!!

  • classy

  • its from 89 they didnt have cell cams then

  • hahahaha

  • this was not taken with a cell cam in 1989 lol cam phones are only about 5-6 years old

  • Ah I love this song.

But I don't know what I'm going to do if I hear one more shitty fucking cover of it.

  • essa música é maravilhosa! Operation Ivy é muito bom pra pogar!

  • Muito foda!

    Adorei!!

  • Amazing song, amazing band, amazing influence.

  • greeeeeeaaaat pro-tolerance anthem !!

    OPIVY4LIFE !!
