yes i tottally agree the trouble is with living in the uk there arnt many places if any that you can go to a store and play more than one of the same model likethe hummingbird theres no way stores keep more than one you are lucky to find one of a certain model but going on sound my tak to my ears is far better than the bird i cant comment on martin as ive only ever played one and was more gibson than martin but for the money the tks are outstanding
i like at end when u say it doesn't have a capuccino machine. that was priceless. were u making fun of our own spoiled rotten american culture? keep the jokes coming.
I have a "Tak" TC132sc Black w/Cool Tube Preamp on the way (being shipped to me). I've wanted one for many years and decided to spring for it. I presently have a 1976 Yamaha Classical G-90-1 made in Taiwan. Is made in Taiwan bad? Not in this case, the sound of the old Yamaha is truly amazing, the neck is still perfectly straight, and everything about it is great! I hope the Tak measures up... Ill keep you posted (and no, Yamaha did not pay me to say this).
All guitars come down to preference. I used to own a martin but it just wasnt the guitar for me, the same with taylor, i had a taylor for 2 years, but i sold both my martin and taylor and got a $500 takamine, which is "cheap" compared to the other 2 guitars i had. I have now had the Takamine for 9 years and love every second im playing it. Just remember more expensive doesnt always mean better. Unless your talking about pre-amps in acoustic guitars, but thats a different discussion all together
@brandonch25 well good then, place your bets. but it's a fact you can buy a guitar as good as a martin or even better for less or even a lot less money. saving won't harm you. but if you want to just spend as much as you possibly can and just brag about buying a martin and how it's going to keep it's value or whatever in 20-30 years, go ahead....lol... buying expensive is not what it's all about, you'll often get lured into wasting your money on nothing. BUYING SMART is the way to go.
@pleic well yeah i think a smart buy would be something that sustains its value and a better buy would be something that goes up in value which martins go up in value ... i have three blueridges that are not going to go up in value im just sayin you get what you pay for .... and yeah there are some guitars that sound as good as a martin i know but why not buy a martin if you can ? why not buy a gibson if you can ? why not buy something you know you can get your money out of if you can
@brandonch25 maybe butwhats the point in buying a high end martin and not wanting to play it in fear of scratchingetc also i bought a gibson hummingbird true vintage just under £2000.00 and to be honest yeah it was nice guitar but no way worth that and played next to my takamine g511ss the tak was way better sounding ie tone, loudness, warmth more base. The really high end stuff isnt worth that amount yeah they are nice but so are other guitars
@TheLeerain umm i play a martin the same as i would any guitar i take it everywhere if it gets ding up every now and then who cares i mean yeah im not gonna try to mess it up on purpose but stuff happens it adds character ... and like i said im sure there are takamines that sound better but for instance if im going to buy a 2000 dollar gibson humming bird im going to play a hundred of them until i find the one that is what i want not every guitar sounds good just like not every takamine is good
@pleic well said and so are alot of so called high end guitars ie gibson my cheap takamine gs330s solid cedar sounds way better than my gibson hummingbird
Anybody know the name of the tune he's playing in this video? I'm assuming it might just be something he's making up, but I'd love to learn how to play it.
I wonder why he kept saying "Solid State Logic" (he says that on other postings as well), that's SSL (lol), did anybody get that? I'm sure he meant "solid state circuit" in the preamp...
I wonder if Brad was paid by Takamine to talk positively about their product? If so, this may influence greatly what he says. For example, what he hasys may be generic details that could be said about many other instruments.
Well, yeah, he was definitely paid, and I'm sure that he probably has problems with the guitar, but its not like he is going to bad talk a guitar that he's getting paid to talk good about. I would bet its pretty biased.
Well, this is an ad. No matter how much I love a guitar, if they ask me to do an ad for it, they better pay me, because I wouldn't ever do it for free, and I guess Brad wouldn't either.
I have one that is very similar to this one, sounds amazing and it's really old, it's about 20 years, however it still sounds great and looks brand new... love them... but I don't know what series does it belong to :(
I like this guy, and his lessons are good- and the TAkamine is a decent guitar- however....
there are to many name drops in this video. It's set up to impress... Its not about the guitar its about WHO liked it, which is not a reason to buy it.
backporchgrass dude i have a takemine it it is awesome they make some good guitars don't say dumb shit like its i step above first act, there is some shitty martins ,taylors and ovations too
I don't care how much takamine paid Brad to endorse this guitar. I am sure that this guitar is not your average factory model it was likely 1 great guitar out of a thousand and was set up with him in mind. I traded for one to help a friend and I rate it one grade above the First Act guitars that Wal-Mart sells. Save your money for a real guitar!
Whatever,
A friend of mine bought a Tak EF-350 (Hi Susan!) in the day and I thought it rocked even thought I was pretty much a novice.
Today, my Martin D-18 is a sound I cannot convey to an audience. One must play it.

However I just bought a Breedlove and find it a better sounding , easier to play guitar. Paid
$1000.00. I'll use them both.
