@CaptainFoufeu they cut it for charity by getting people to sponsor them to cut their hair, they weren't giving the hair to the charity. They played a game show and the looser had to have their hair cut. There were 5 haircuts and one was randomly chosen.

@thepicmonster it was called 'keep your hair on' and was on CBBC one year. The kids had to play the game show and whoever lost got their hair cut. There were 5 haircuts for girls and 5 for boys. If they collected hairnets they could eliminate whichever ones they wanted (1 eliminated for each hairnet). The people who sponsored them to cut their hair gave them the money and the TV show sent it to BBC's children in need.

@maxwell029 yup it is their real hair they entered the contest to raise money for children in need - the day after they had it cut they got sent to a professional hair salon to get it sorted out :)

I was on the show aswell. i was the girl called Ella with the 2nd longest hair. i cut it for for charity as well :) we have known each other since we were 3 and this will be the most embarrassing thing for her :)
