I watched this movie today it was brilliant! Raised as a jehovah's witness, I can really see how cults take over a person's mind completely. How the mind can become conditioned to accept only those within the inner circle and fall into the trap of thinking these people have total power over your life. The movie builds tension right up to the end. I just now realized it's an Olsen sister. The ending left me hanging, there has to be a sequel.

Great cinematography and seamless use merging of past present and future. The lack of shadow detail and browns in the image was a great way of showing Marceys fractured mind in idyllic surroundings. One of the best and most disturbing films this year although I found the ending abrupt but it did add to the unresolved tension of the protagonist.

Great actor! But VERY disappointing in the lack of explanation about the cult's thinking, & VERY frustrating in SO many missing parts of the story. Not the good kind of missing parts that let your imagination fill it in, but major important parts that leave you confused & without a climax. Also very confusing.

@misuniversal Basically its about a girl who runs away from a cult and is found by her sis. She can't tell what's real, a memory or a dream, as she thinks the cult is coming back for her. Took me a while to understand it too, but it was worth watching =)

The movie is about brainwashed people living in community driven by egomaniac/psycho. The story is interesting to tell in order to show that it is not a horror movie plot but a very real and modern way (perversion, manipulation and unaccountability for any action) of communication.

@therunawaysfan12 I'm thirteen and I saw it with my mom. During the sex scenes it doesn't show anything but...you know it's happening. You see her butt and her boobs, both just one time. There's one stabbing in it but it lasts for two seconds. The film is really thought-provoking and it's really effective as a psychological thriller. I think it really depends on how mature you are.

this movie seriously sucked so much balls. It was boring from the beginning, the plot got nowhere till the very end. I could see why some people would like this movie, but if your not into slow movies than this movie is like the japanese water torture. Didnt captivate me, didnt evoke me, didnt disturb me, didnt shock me, didnt scare me, didnt make me happy, nor sad. I just saw this film last night, and I must say that I'm very impressed with her acting. The film was well executed and at times it seemed slow, but it kept a steady pace that allowed the tension to slowly build to an unexpected ending. Watch this movie by all means!

Just saw the entire film at Coolidge Corner Brookline, MA theater - what a compelling well designed and executed film. Masterful use filming to achieve the state of mind of a recently 'freed' / escaped / re-entry of a person who has been a member of a cult. Chilling and refreshing look from a young set of experienced eyes. WOnderful interpretation by the actors.

Sundance does AT TIMES present the best movies. This one looks really good. I've noticed all Sundance does it mostly accept films with gay themes...what is up with that? I'm tired of seeing the same old gay themes in films...it's like we get it they don't fit in this society but how many times do we need to see that theme in a film? It gets redundant. Films such as Circumstance, La Mission, Gun Hill Road and most recently the docu We Were Here are all gay themes screened at Sundance. Blahhhhhh
