Honestly, Chris felt flat because he had little to do other than pine for Jill. Now if he and Leon were together, with Leon cracking jokes and Chris being serious it would have made for a good dynamic.
I guess they wanted us to think the game was serious considering Chris and Sheva were so serious minded, but it just made things boring since none of the monsters was a threat.

@jaykrycek There's big difference between Wesker in CV and re5 except for the clothes, in cv i never see him getting angry just a little pissed in the ending (also in re:uc he is pissed but then he never is that angry), and also he never shows up his teeth like a dog, or didn't scream at all, also he was far more interesting back there, unlike his so poor plot in re5, including that Richard Waugh < douglas, besides they make him to have a weaknees an he was far more arrogant before he gets angry
@TheBIOPRINCE Wesker got angry as soon as he realized that Chris could possibly beat him in chapter 6-3. He never lost his cool before that. And arrogance was always Wesker's weakness. Remember RE1 when he unleashed the Tyrant in the origina when Chris provoked himl? or when he toys with Chris instead of killing him at the end of CV? His arrogance leads him to his failure all the time.

But Wesker has an over developped ego, so he cannot believe that a simple human like Chris could defeat him. I also believe that Wesker is stimulated by people who challenges him. That's why he seems to warm up when dealing with Chris. When Chris isn't around, he's the cold ruthless pro we see in UC and RE4. Spencer also clearly fucked his mind up in RE5.
@jaykrycek Lol in CV he is also a ruthless pro, as well in RE1, he let the stars to be killed, he unleashed the tyrant (owning Chris first, even without superpowers) so it can "kill" him and Chris and adquire the combat data, also in CV when his face is burned, he just looks Chris pissed but then he starts laughing, in re5 he just screams all the time, in CV he takes his sunglasses to deal with Chris, in re5, he is so idiot he coudln't even think about that when figthing in dark.
