  • No, I didn't "denoise" the pictures, might have to try that! I used QuickTime to put the pictures together into a video format. I'll have to try this again when the skies clear (next spring) on a "moonless" night with a new external shutter release I recently found. It is a JJC TM-D series multi function timer remote control and it works well.

  • Hi, your timelapse is amazing!!!

    I own a g3, too.

I tried a timelapse of some stars over Stuttgart, with iso1600.

    My movie is noisy.

    Did you "denoise" your pictures?

    Whitch software did you use?

    regards

  • @WatchAndrewPrimavera

    I bought mine from amazon.com

Go to the site and perform a search with "photodiox lumix remote shutter release". I am using the one for the "G1, G2, GH1, GH2, GF1, GF2..." series of cameras.

  • how long the battery lasts for video recording?

  • @maahadianz

Can't say as I haven't used the camera for video much. Maybe check the internet for reviews?

  • hi i am a newbie. can you explain to me what is the meaning of '5 second exposures' and '15 exposures per second video play rate' ?

  • @viadee

Sure, the video is comprised of many individual pictures (each picture or exposure taken at the settings of the shutter being open and exposing the camera sensor for 5 seconds with the lens aperture at it's widest, f1.7) with those individual pictures (or exposures) being played at a rate of 15 per second when watching the video.

  • Nice hey could a fz100 do this at f2.8 at shutter speed of 20 seconds at iso 400 for minimal noise?

  • @vwlover94

Go for it and see what happens!

  • Thats a really good timelapse. Does the G3 have an intervalometer or did you use an external shutter trigger device?

  • @mephisto212

Thanks! I used an external shutter release as the G3 does not feature an internal intervalometer. :-(

  • @cbcrus external shutter release? which one do you recommend?

btw, i like your time lapse. tfs:)
