Nice I just thru away my old grinder it worked good the first year then couldn't grind butter lol. I used it for grinding venison I would clean off all the silver skin I could get off and freeze it partly then grind it. But would end up binding up . I have a meat grinder that is part of my strainer attachment I bought for my kitchen aid mixer for making tomato sauce .
@webcajun I'm watching all your video's now, having a cold one...sure am enjoying myself thanks to you. i have a small veggie garden here in chicago in a raised bed. (3X10) and just trying to learn as i go along. you sure are an interesting man, do you do all the video work yourself?
thanks again for all the video's, looks like a 6 packs worths easy :)
@webcajun wow, im even more impressed. a real farmer with video editing skills :) ! how you find the time to do all this ill never know. keep up the good work. i sub a lot of people and never click...you sir are click worthy!
Great Video - Might try keeping the grinder pieces in a ziplock bag of rice to keep the moisture off your grinder parts - plus it'll keep em all together. I like your 1/2 hp over my Kitchen Aid attachment, but it gets the job done.
@webcajun Ever consider swapping out that Mortons Iodized salt for some Sea Salt or Kosher salt?? I use only Sea Salt anymore, with Kosher in my BBQ rubs
hey i love the wife tries it at the end but all those married men out there know that know matter how you make it its never good enough until the wife tells you how too make it .thats why i never make anything for my wife unless its close too how she makes it or else i get the lecture if you put this in it or if it had more of this well you guys know
I thought stainless steel didn't rust unless you used something like a carbon steel brush or file on it to do some finishing work and particles of the carbon steel got imbedded in the stainless steel.
@njnorth1 ... just following the manufactures recommendations. I want this thing to last as long as possible. Only takes a few minutes to do......Donald
@GrenadeChick99 ... that's what I'm doing tomorrow, making sausage. I looked real hard at the 1 HP but settled on the 1/2. So far I have no complaints......Donald
i've said it before, Donald, and i'll say it again: i LOVE how meticulous and precise you are with everything you do. I appreciate how clean and crisp everything of yours is!
hello from Ireland....my family raises sheep and hogs so thats the mix we always use in our sausage. I lol when your wife said to change it and throw stuff away at the end. We pack a whole lot of sausage every year in the summer and i think my hands are gona freeze of by the end of the day. O well im rambling...enjoyed your video and have a good day Sir
@TheClownCentral ... we like the pork burgers and sausage. We also like a mix of pork and beef, not many sheep around here so it's not often we eat it. I guess sausage is kind of like our Gumbo, lots of different recipes. Always good though. Glad you enjoyed the video.......Donald
Thanks for getting back to me Donald. This ol girl is pretty familiar with alot of things, but I've never heard of 2-4-D. Is that part of the WD40 family? LOL Where do I find it?
Thnk u Donald for all of ur videos. You talk and remind me of my grandfather . i spent my summers with him down in Brunswick, Ga, shrimping and flounder gigging and wiping back the tears from all the heat he would add to his gumbo! You sure do have alot of equipment and gadgets. I spend my winters cutting down jungle rope (wisteria vines, LOL) but to my dismay it grows back, all I have is hand cutters and can't get deep enough in the ground to the root, I also tried burning. Any ideas?Mel, SC
@DIRTisTHEnewCLEAN ...Hey Mel, spray those vines with a little 2-4-D, that should do the trick. I like my Gumbo with a little heat but not too much. A few (well maybe a little more) drops of hot sauce is all it takes for me. As for the gadgets, been getting rid of things I don't use/need and replacing with stuff I do. Getting wiser in my old age. LOL.......Donald
@ransom47 ...Hey Ransom, the grinder really surprised me on just how well it works and how quiet it is. I can see making a lot more sausage, boudin and dressing mix for the family.....Donald
have you used a manual grinder. My hubby bought one for my b day. I am not aloud to have it until my b day but which one do you like better if you have used a manual one. I will be using my grinder for making sausages and smoking them. Do you have a smoker if so could you do a video on it. good video.
@crewlla ... I have used a manual grinder, off and on, for as long as I can remember. A good electric grinder is by far the way to go if you are doing any volume of meat, takes a fraction of the time to finish the job. As for stuffing sausage a grinder can be used but again a sausage stuffer works best. It all comes down to how much meat / sausage you are planning on processing at any one time. For smaller batches, the hand grinder will do just fine. Happy Bday........Donald
Can you please tell me what that saying is you say at the end of each video. How do you pronounce it and what does it mean. All the best from Down Under.
@born2flyau ... "Losh pa" in the videos means "don't let go" or "don't give up" or "hang in there" or just "good bye". It's a Cajun French term.........Donald
@btigtime2 ... I try to imagine myself as someone who is very interested in the subject and what they would want to see up close. The time limit on the video limits the details I can show which I guess is good, otherwise it would get too boring........Donald
@webcajun Well you have a good presents and eye and are headed to being the next Justin Wilson... Sep he was an actor from Mississippi, you are the real deal
Donald - good video as always. Where do you get those papers for the patties? I haven't seen them before. I was thinking of getting the grinder attachment for my Kitchenaid mixer. I hate to have anymore appliances around the house. Thanks again Nikki in Ponchatoula
@webcajun You have that "Youtube Star" quality that isn't destroyed by being managed/modified by commercial television producers that force you to change the way you do videos, in order to please them, instead of your fan base. Your videos are produced perfectly. Your videos are life-like and realistic.
I heard you can get grocery stores to grind meat for you, I wonder if they would be willing to grind bacon into it too, I have never had this and don't own a meat grinder, but it sounds awesome.
@guest2424 ... Being retired I’ve have become accustomed to planning my own schedule, doing pretty much what I want to do and when. Not too sure I’d like working under someone else’s direction. I could very well be all wrong and would maybe love it, but I don’t think so.
What you could do is buy a package of ground pork and one of ground beef and add your own bacon when you make your burgers. Cut the bacon up as small as you can and just mix it in the meat..........Donald
@baddogonline ... make you some. Try 1/2 pork and 1/2 beef with a little bacon. Only thing I wish I had to go with that was fresh lettuce and tomato from the garden. Look out this summer, tomatoes are going to catch..........Donald
Another Great video! Thanks for posting! But... as another person has asked, Where's the Tony's?.... and just to add... we use eggs and Lipton's Onion Soup Mix in our patties.
@231MasseyFerguson ... Used the Tony's in the second batch of 38 I made. The wife also likes to mix in a little chopped bread and eggs with the meat. So many recipes, so little ..........Donald
@RocketCityGardener ... Compresses the meat too much and I agree. I rather use my homemade 4 inch PVC rings, it’s just as fast as the press........Donald
@RocketCityGardener ... no I haven't but they are real simple to make. Cut the 4 inch pipe the thickness you like your burgers and you're done......Donald
@mfpieklik ... after shooting this video I made 38 more using only Tony's Seasoning. 1 TBSP for every 2 lbs. of meat works out pretty well. Wife likes the second batch a lot better.........Donald
@rutsableich ... it's so easy to reach into the freezer and have pre-made hamburgers. Can have one ready in about 20-25 minutes at 350 in the oven. Much better on the pit though........Donald
