@makingasplash4rescue I know your comment is rather old, what the HELL were you thinking trying to put any type of memory card into an optical drive? You cannot do something like that by "mistake." Either you are very young, curious, bored, or a combination of the three.

Is it any difference between normal laser diods from diskmans and normal laser diods from Computers? Trying to make a mag lite laser.

the laser is a concentrated particle beam of pure colour, it would be hard to use it as a maglite.

well i think the it depends but dont quote me...the walkman are used to read the discs but the drives can write it so they have a stronger laser for burning i think and thats the laser you use i imagine u r making a flashlight laser burner? then thats the laser you want if you wanna pop balloons etc

i thought you were trying to make an ordinary flashlight, yes you can make a burning laser, go to my channel to understand the basic idea. to use as a flash light you cant the light just looks so crazy from a laser

I actually find very intrugin how a discs spin and how the laser reads them, have you seen the xbox 360's dvd drive?? it spins out of control like mad, and the laser is back and forth, maybe thats why they die lol
