@rockbodyfitness: when I do my breathing like you I begin to hyperventilate, after which I have to stop, 'cause I'm getting dizzy; is this normal? Can I breathe half as fast or will that ruin the exercise? Thx!
@marveladeguitar the breathing gets your abs involved in the motion to support your back. it won't ruin the exercise...it just won't be as good. try to not take as deep of a breath each time instead
pavel's video is obviously a great reference but you also cleared up a few points i was unaware of. got my 35lb'r ready when i get home from work to get BURNED lol.
Thanks for the video, Eric. Do you know what kind of improper form usually causes neck strain? I just started, and I got it neck strain. It's like on the sides of the neck where it meets shoulder area. I'm going to let it completely rest until the strain goes away before I atttempt it again. After rereviewing several videos including yours... I think what was wrong was my shoulders weren't pulled in, they were more forward going over the knees. Anything else you can think of? Would appreciate..
i was recently bitten by the kettlebell bug. I visited and RKC instructor last week and he tweaked my form on the swing and TGU. I just wanted to say that I think this is one of the better form videos for the swing on youtube. Keep up the good work.
I'm not sure how I would "pull up my kneecaps," especially since I wear a knee brace during my workouts since I'm coming off a right knee injury. My main issue with the swing (whether I do 2-handed or 1-arm) is my lower back gets REALLY sore after only a couple of sets. I've reviewed my form over and over, and I can also Snatch and Clean & Press just fine, but I cann't seem to Swing without back pain.
I did my first kettlebell workout today. My hamstrings are completely broken (in the good way) and I was surprised at how much it taxed my cardio. We were doing circuits and I was gasping for air. Good stuff.
Man I used to be so in shape when I was youger now I´m 40 and overweight, this kettlerbell training can reduce my belly a little?,I use to be 32 size now I´m 38
I haven't heard of them. I didn't want to be rude but I don't take criticism from just anybody especially when it comes to kb training form simply because there are a lot of unqualified to be critiquing people out there. Also this isn't a girevoy sport swing...its a hardstyle swing
What weight was the KB in the video ? How do I determine what weight I should use ?
jdagger18 5 months ago
@jdagger18 usually 16kgs for beginner males and 8kgs - 12kgs for beginner females

why do i keep hurting my lower back?
hannahr201 6 months ago
@hannahr201 it's a very subtle thing to get the hips to lead the motion. honestly you might just want to go get your form checked by an RKC
rockbodyfitness 5 months ago
OK so I have been pushing out with my hips real hard and I feel it working my Mid section. Is that correct?

my instructor told me to put the weight on the heels and lift the tip of the feet when swinging back, is that ok?

@Kosyghin get your form checked professionally by an RKC instructor. there is a lot to this exercise that the untrained eye won't get
