I notice quite alot of "ghosting" ... I presume you can disable that in post rendering but I don't really like it, it does not translate fluide movement (it leaves "trails" when you move your hand around).

What are your thoughts on that ?

@NailGuitarVlog I have a PC. But wanted to use the webcam for the same thing as kpaul00. To record guitar and singing. I found the Logitech software cranked up the mic volume to max. If I use 3rd Party software it compresses the audio and makes it sound mono. What would you advise for a PC user that wants to use for music?

Is the cam plug and play for Mac, or do you need to install Logitech bloatware for basic functionality?

@sitheris Yeah it comes up in your camera listing in system preferences but it does mean you get the massive uncompressed files that fill your computer quick. I actually find the Logitech software to be pretty alright and that allows you the option to save as compressed mp4 which are tiny and hold their quality well so its great for daily video uploads like I do. A~

Your compression can be taken care of in the Logitech "HD Setting" tab, you just need to select "Large (raw for iMovie import)" and that not only will prevent the compression from happening but will also give you a copy of much better quality to work with before you finally do compress it down for youtube and such.

thank god. someone giving a demonstration of the built in mic who knows how to turn off background noise suppression. so annoying listening toi "demo's" that have all this digital distortion. also thanks for this, good demo, saw some good movement, in good lighting, and information i needed to know. quick question, for this vid, did u have rightlight on or off? because I heard the framerate is actually smoother with it off. if you can please let me know.

LOL @ 'Authentic Andy Colour' (I think the tech jargon is just AAC). Amazing critique. The stereo sound test was an excellent idea! No one's posted that on You Tube as far as I can tell. The mics suck, but in my headphones it was a good test. I was really shocked when you said the compression process couldn't be (easily) stopped if you wanted a retake. That's incredibly useless on Logitech's part. This cam is a 'web cam' and not intended for 'video production,'yet I was hoping it could be. :(
