Close up fighting may be his strong point, but it can also leave you really exposed. Better to weaken the opponent with long range attacks first. The question I always had was why superman always rushes in head first when he could blast away with his heat vision to give him an advantage.

My brother and I debated this one for years. I'm sure it is for the action and suspense. For me, I thought of it like, using the sword would use up a lot of power or something. You know maybe like, don't blow your whole wad at first. I don't know . . .
