u seriously have to stop feeding him banana. he can get gut stasis and die within 24 hours. they need 80% hay and the rest green vegies. no iceberg, no fruits. my bun had gut stasis it is devastating, costly and exhausting. dont feed rabbits banana, carrot or stuff with high sugar content. its very dangerous.
@humblebusker Actually they can have banana... the gut stasis you brought up, mainly occurs with food they cannot digest properly; such as corn, peanuts, etc. other things bunnies should never have are animal products and by-products. bananas and almost all other fruits (if one does their research OR works with animals and has earned an education in the field -like myself) are all good in fine in moderation. Over feeding fruit can lead to pickiness and high blood sugar.
@twelveZEBRAS yes u can feed him a fingernail worth of banana but what YOU have fed him in the video is TOO much. i'm not trying to be an ass ok just trying to pass on what one of the country's top vets have said to me when i fed my bunny about the same amount you're feeding, causing him to have stasis. please stop feeding him that much banana as it is too much.

@twelveZEBRAS hi yes sorry i realize now its not your bun. no worries at all. i didnt think u were bitchy. alot of people dont realize bunnies need a special diet of 80% hay + 1 liter of leafy green vegies per kg of bunny. and to feed NO 'rabbit mix', no seeds, corn, nuts, bread, wheat or dried fruit etc. and feeding fruit as a very very special and tiny tiny bit of treat. ie half a finger of carrot per every 2 days or a fingernail of banana every 2 days etc.
@twelveZEBRAS con't: ... the vet who educated me is one of my country's best rabbit specialists and if it werent for her i would have killed my baby bunny with kindness long ago. even feeding him too much vegies upset his tummy. i do realize that every bun is different. my other bunny is pretty tough and eats and poops well all the time. BUT she too gets the ideal rabbit diet of being fed 80-90% hay + small amount o vegies and herbs every day. why would anyone even risk their health?

My bunny loved banana but he didn't like getting it on his wiskers so it looked like he was eating peanutbutter or nutella. Wish I could have got that on vid. they didn't have youtube when he was alive. He lived for like 7 years so maybe nana's are really good for them.

@hazefarma as in snacks yogurt (little candy like form from pet stores) bananas, oats, almonds, the sticks you get in pet stores. Look up Vitacraft company, they make some of best bunny treats around. Just try around and you will see what yours likes the most
Essentials, loads and loads of greens, they can eat easily 1kg a day, non cabbage. Do not feed bunny dry food with pallets they are VERY unhealthy. A little amounts of the stuff is good since they contain a lot of minerals etc. Oh water XD.

@twelveZEBRAS hi yes sorry i realize now its not your bun. no worries at all. i didnt think u were bitchy. alot of people dont realize bunnies need a special diet of 80% hay + 1 liter of leafy green vegies per kg of bunny. and to feed NO 'rabbit mix', no seeds, corn, nuts, bread, wheat or dried fruit etc. and feeding fruit as a very very special and tiny tiny bit of treat. ie half a finger of carrot per every 2 days or a fingernail of banana every 2 days etc.

@twelveZEBRAS con't: ... the vet who educated me is one of my country's best rabbit specialists and if it werent for her i would have killed my baby bunny with kindness long ago. even feeding him too much vegies upset his tummy. i do realize that every bun is different. my other bunny is pretty tough and eats and poops well all the time. BUT she too gets the ideal rabbit diet of being fed 80-90% hay + small amount o vegies and herbs every day. why would anyone even risk their health?

@twelveZEBRAS also, no offence at all its all good. i just get so frustrated that pet shops sells bunnies so irresponsibly and the backyard breeders who breed them relentlessly have no heart at all. the shops do not provide the correct if any information at all for the care of rabbits and alot of them die an excrutiatingly painful death... for anyone reading, please feed 80% hay and green vegies, and only giv tiny fingernail bits of fruit for a treat once every few days. pls ADOPT from a shelter

My bunny loved banana but he didn't like getting it on his wiskers so it looked like he was eating peanutbutter or nutella. Wish I could have got that on vid. they didn't have youtube when he was alive. He lived for like 7 years so maybe nana's are really good for them.

@hazefarma as in snacks yogurt (little candy like form from pet stores) bananas, oats, almonds, the sticks you get in pet stores. Look up Vitacraft company, they make some of best bunny treats around. Just try around and you will see what yours likes the most
Essentials, loads and loads of greens, they can eat easily 1kg a day, non cabbage. Do not feed bunny dry food with pallets they are VERY unhealthy. A little amounts of the stuff is good since they contain a lot of minerals etc. Oh water XD.
