This is the original recording from the album. You can tell from the singing, it doesn't fluctuate like live singing does because it was recorded in a soundproof booth. Top of the pops never used live equipment either.

The Montreux Rose Pop Fest was held every year in the mid 80's, and consisted entirely of whoever the current pop bands that summer lip synching, or at best, singing live to playback (usually meaning only the lead singer is live, everything else is on tape). I remember the year Frankie Goes To Hollywood played, they actually demolished all their gear DURING the song. Funny how the drums kept going even as the drummer was tossing them off the stage! ;)
